I hope Mindy is enjoying herself right now on "the other side". Such a talented singer. Her vocals pierce the sky.
I was home for college. I'd just came back to my dad's house from a run. I still had my headphones on listening to this song. I was singing my heart out as I was stretching after my run. (And, who wouldn't belt their heart out to this song?)
Anyway, I didn't know my dad came home, because I had the headphones on still. He walked in my room, and I stopped singing. I've always been shy about singing. He asked if that was me singing. I shyly said, "Yes." He simply replied, "Wow!"
I love my dad dearly. This will always be a favorite moment of mine. I've never shared it with anyone, but here I am 20 some odd years later feeling nostalgic.

Loved working on this video. She and Dean were such a sweet couple. One of my favorite memories of my time living in New Orleans. Was so sad when I heard about her.

Mindy was absolutely the most talented woman….and one of my first adolescent crushes….musically and romantically. She was just so perfect
9 years ago, Mindy went to heaven and her fans will certainly salute her in their own way from singing their favorite song by her, Dancing to their favorite songs by her or some other way. R.I.P Mindy

I go through her vids and songs at least once a year. I miss her work. She was a big thing my senior year and freshman year in college. Her music was played often and loud in the dorms. She is missed. Her life is a tragedy. So many things tore her down until she finally felt she ran out of options. Sad.

I was digging through some old cassette feeling nostalgic, and i find one i recorded in the late 90's probably from the radio I don't really remember. On it was this song I had to listen to it. I got flooded with memories as soon as it started playing. What i would give to be back in those days.

I still remember the first time I saw this video and I could identify which streets she was on and knew exactly what storefronts she was in front of. I would watch this video and I feel like I was back home for a few minutes.

I've always loved this song and the video. I bet that was a great night for New Orleans when she put on a live show! When I was younger, I always wondered if she was singing to the guy in the white shirt who kept appearing around her. Then at the end, Dean Cain pops out, and it all came full-circle. RIP Mindy!
If I remember right, the guy was the focus for the 'story' they wanted to tell with the song. It was one of my favorite memories. We had finished shooting a day on Rag and Bone when Dean and Mindy asked the crew if we wanted to help with this video for drinks at Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop afterward. Of course we agreed. Some of the actors were sprinkled through the crowd and I got follow her around, pushing the speaker so she could lip-synch. Such a wonderful woman.
Glad I met her and saw her in Las Vegas years ago! And she autographed my tickets and pic!

What happened was she started making terrible choices, drugs addictions , having affairs with married men, making her sex tapes public and released to porn companies , arrest, lost a child to social services then kidnapped her child, lost her boyfriend at the time, it finished driving her over the edge and her inner demons won. That's pretty much what happened ....
most whats seen in music videos is acting...she sadly was deeply troubled....drugs,drinking,abuse,law issues,bad sales,sex tape and so on. this video was at her height of fame.

I'm so sad.....I just watched the story of her life....so much beauty and talent...a great family upbringing....she went to church....but she got lost along the way...so much promise.....She was one of my favorite singers when she first came out.....In this video you can tell her voice is beautiful still....but her movements are off....she's not comfortable in front of the camera...like she's trying but she's not feeling it......her life was ruined by drugs.....My heart goes out to her children.....and her parents and family.....R.I.P. Mindy....
