Wild Waves Review, Playland's Castaway Cove Miler Roller Coaster | Is This for Families or Adults?

  • Wild Waves at Playland's Castaway Cove is one of the few adult roller coasters that E&F Miler ever constructed. Wrapped around Gale Force, Wild Waves is one bunny hill after another. The ride was delayed almost 2 years, but it is one of the few custom layouts on the New Jersey Shore. But is this coaster for families or adults? I explore that question in this review!

    4:30 "max height is 50 feet or 150 meters" I didn't know that Miler made the world's tallest coaster!

    Shame it is so excessive on the trims. Looks like it could be a pretty strong small scale boardwalk coaster. So it seems they basically realized what they ordered as a family coaster turned out to be more thrill, thus taming it. That's so crazy 😂 I love it lol

    That final hill looks like it levels out fast on the accent so that’s probably why only the front gets airtime, not that many hills do that so it seems pretty fun, gotta thank E&F milers awesome profiling for that tho

    Thanks for doing this review. I have never seen anyone else say anything about this ride, and I've always been curious, because I really like the E&F Miler adult coasters at the Fun Spots. It's too bad to hear that the crazy amounts of trims cause it to be much tamer than it could have been, but at least I know what to expect whenever I make it out there.

      I can only imagine how crazy this could be without the trims.

    I prefer a coaster like this one! More of a family tame coaster to enjoy the ride. So if your a max thrill seeker dont buy tickets for the spinning tea cups when you want to be on the scrambler ride!

    Literally the only adult Miler I’ve ridden has been Hurricane at Fun Spot Kissimmee, which was the best coaster in the park after Mine Blower. A fun ride, but I was bracing myself for the banked turn-around after your review. Suffice to say, I still hit my funny bone.

    I feel like maybe a green color scheme rather than grey would be nice on wild waves to complement galeforce. Right now, idk how to describe it, but it looks like it blends in a is kinda just there

    Is there any source that says the track length of this coaster? If not what’s your best guess?

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't seen an official length, but I'd guess just south of 2000 feet.

    they should have enthusiast events where they run this with no trims.

    Like the name "Wild Waves", you would expect a good quantity of airtime which it has, but lacs in quality in many areas.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could've been wilder without the trims.

  • @maxhagenauer24

    If there was no trims or they were all turned off, would it be better than Gale Force?

  • @teddym2808
    @teddym2808 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    They are renaming this one to "I brake for everything". There was no need to trim it to THIS level.. it still could have been a family coaster without being brought to a halt.. The have the small spinner, so that's a total family coaster, this could have been small thrill.. Honestly, this may be small but this could have been an 8.5 out of 10.

    Miler is the new arrow. At least in terms of jankyness

    I really don’t get the hype for E&F Hi-Milers. I hear many enthusiasts rave about them for strong airtime. Having ridden Hurricane multiple times in the front and back row, I got maybe one or two weak pops of airtime. Pretty janky too, especially after the second drop.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree Milers are janky, but Hurricane had some aggressive laterals and some airtime. Screamer is their peak though.

    • @mackenziefritz8169
      @mackenziefritz8169 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Screamer did look like a ton of fun. I guess Hurricane does have laterals, not really my thing unless it’s on a classic wooden coaster I guess lol

    • @OklahomaCoasterFan
      @OklahomaCoasterFan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My first rides on Scream'n Eagle gave some of the wildest and strongest ejector airtime and laterals I've ever experienced. On my return last year, it was much weaker. They might be the type that has good days and bad days.
