    Great tips! I do very similar things, camouflage them and hang em up high. Haven't had one stolen since I started doing that. And like you mentioned, the wildlife doesn't notice them nearly as much. Great video!

    Good recommendations... love the bark setup!! That's impressive!! I like to put little branches with leaves through the straps to break it up. Just have to be careful not to let them get in front of the lens especially on windy days. Said from. Experience. 😂

    Thanks Dave. I always get concerns about theft of my trail-cams. I liked the Hunting Farmer spray gimmick. I need to put my cameras much higher in the tree not only for thieves but also some young bear cubs have had fun with one of my cameras. I really liked the tree bark frame to camouflage the trail-cam. Enjoyed a full-watch... twice 👍

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No doubt getting the cams up higher has several advantages. Good idea getting them away from the cubs. They can wreak havoc on a cam!! Thanks for watching (twice) 👍

    Good video! Work on that spray away! You would be an overnight billionaire! I like a thin 1/8" cable to go around the tree and lock it also. Paint the cable grey or whatever color blends in best in your area, and it is much less noticeable than a heavy cable. If someone wants it bad enough, they will get it no matter what you do. Making it a little tougher will discourage 99% of people out there though.

    This video just popped up in my recommended watches, YT knows me well! The algorithm must have read my mind, because I am looking for ways to put my cameras in some public areas and keep them as secure as possible. Thinking the metal cage and python cable is my best bet, but I really like the spray. If used on kids, does only make them invisible or does it also make them silent too?💁‍♂️

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! They’re reading your mind! 😮
      Python cables are a must in areas with potential theft. Getting the camera up in the air will also help (although the picture angle isn’t as pleasing) 👍

    Great to see someone using camo and a mount to remove the strap and box shape of the camera itself. You might consider making the holes less regular, square and face-shaped - these things all draw the eye immediately. Totally agree that the best way to avoid them getting stolen is to prevent them being detected in the first place. Out of direct line of slight (High or low, in a recess etc) and camouflaged is essential. You can also make them ghillie-suit type covers or direct glue to the casing and place them not just on the trunks where they are easy to see.

    Great video as usual. Was wondering if you've had experience with bears. I've had two of mine destroyed by them. It seems no matter what I do they're gravitated towards them. I have them 8 to 10 feet high and it doesn't matter because they can climb of course. My last option is I'm going to try some smaller diameter trees in hope that they can't easily climb them. Your thoughts?

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bears can be a real mess. I had them mess with my cameras also. A metal box definitely helps with bears, keeps them from easily chewing holes into the cam. Here is a camera that survived bears. th-cam.com/video/_Cz_B7FRNhE/w-d-xo.html

I don’t know how I’m going to disguise that thing but I guess what I can do is put it high enough of the tree that they won’t climb up there.

    What kind of bark are you using, I’d think it would just fall apart most of the time because it’s basically rotting. Good idea though maybe some synthetic bark would be better then you can constantly paint over it to match your next set up tree

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

( Nice ! ) Great idea and a cool project making those Camo bark covers. I use lagged “bear boxes” as I call em or security boxes for any camera I put out on land I have permission to put in a lag ( need that for tree stands anyways ) All my current cams are either Cuddeback or Browning and both companies make boxes but that’s another great project making your own from Square D boxes. I welded mine out of angle iron. Keeps bears from eating them also.

      I suspect nearly everyone saw them. Square edges and symmetry pop out.

    You could also when utilizing the Square D Electric Box rig it with a pulse zapper like those Gimmick Pens and shock the shit out of anyone who touches it, except you know how to disarm it! Lol!

    Your spray away is amazing, do you have enough to make my ex wife invisible?
    Out of sight out of mind! I like the way you mounted the two in the tree behind you. Some great information here. Awesome video, I'm looking forward to the next installment in the series. Take care brother!

    I'll bet you could sell that stuff. 😂 I make steel boxes painted camo to fit each camera and lag them to the tree. Then the camera is locked in with a pad lock. ATB.

    The first trick was good spraying in water making the camera disappeared

    I saw the two camo camera before I saw the other one. They looked like faces looking out of the tree.

    Tip** use the bark of the tree you plan to put it on.

    Was it stolen? Or did you forget where you put it?
    You may think you returned to the exact spot,
    but you are not infallible.

    If spray away was real I have it stored in 55 gallon drums. I’d also spay it all over me.

    another trick ? Get rid of the strap, carry a staple gun and staple one side of a Velcro strip on the tree and have the other half glued to the back of the camera. Also work for trees too big for the strap.
