    I am SO with you on this! After reading/hearing a bit on the Dance of the Dragons lore my attention was immediately captured by the Red Kraken. Such a badass title! Pretty sure he'll side with the Black's tho, i remember something about him "Joining the side who fought against the Lannisters" and pretty sure Lannisters are going Green. But we shall see!

    When reading Fire&Blood it occured to me how come in that timeframe after the war of conquest, why didn't the Iron Throne ever bother to properly integrate the iron born? They would've proved to be strong allies to have in the fold and in turn they would've seen the benefits of westerosi trade and intermarriage with othet house. Plus the end of long term hostilities

    I got a feeling that if this was real then someone else from the Kingdom would just say "fuck this shit" and put the Islanders to the sword. They would have support from pretty much every kingdom in Westeros tired of their raids.

    • @augustusfreeman4032
      @augustusfreeman4032 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      Actually ever since Aegon's conquest they hardly ever raid Mainland Westeros. George made that very clear throughout F&B and even the main series.

    • @virgilhawkinsstaticshock
      @virgilhawkinsstaticshock 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +23

      @@augustusfreeman4032 You should know that most ASOIAF fans don't actually read the books. The amount of times I've seen someone say that "the Starks loved Theon" and "Sandor is a true Knight", tell me that they've probably never read their wiki pages much less actually read the series.

    • @augustusfreeman4032
      @augustusfreeman4032 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @@virgilhawkinsstaticshock Yeah, those are definitely among some of the worst takes I've seen from the fandom. I think fans have preconceived notions of characters and themes of the series that the gained from D&D's horrible misrepresentation on the show. People will be under videos about the Ironborn defeating the combined might of The Trident and the Stormlands and post comments calling them "stupid", "weak" or" incompetent". And they'll be in book only discussions saying that the Starks treated Theon "like family" and that Ned "would never" harm Theon. It's quite hilarious to be honest.

    • @virgilhawkinsstaticshock
      @virgilhawkinsstaticshock 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@augustusfreeman4032 It can cause actual discussions about the series unbearable however. Because if someone who actually paid attention while reading the series go against the mindless parroting among the fandom, you get downvoted into a oblivion or they basically ignore what you said and start quoting the TV show. A series that apparently ruined their favourite characters and their arcs. But is a legit source that contradicts what's written in the books.

    • @augustusfreeman4032
      @augustusfreeman4032 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @@virgilhawkinsstaticshock Yeah, lot of people call D&D horrible writers but then say that every season before Season 8 was apparently a masterpiece. Ignoring that Seasons 7 and 5 were complete dumpster trucks and Season 6 was a generic action movie with some good payoffs. Heck, they've been bastardizing characters and plotlines even before that. Writing Theon as a pathetic wimp that's treated bad by the Starks and Northerners but apparently he "loved" them 😐. Arya's arc basically reduced to revenge power fantasy, and Robb marrying for love instead of honour. There's a whole lot D&D messed up, and it still echoes throughout the fandom to this day.

      In the current story the sword is belonging to house Harlaw and wielded by Ser Harras Harlaw who is loyal to Euron, so maybe Euron takes that beautiful blade from Ser Harras for himself, or maybe he'll take Red Rain that belongs to house Drumm who are also loyal to him I think

    Are "fingers in the bum" an Ironborn custom for consummating marriages?
    Or, just Euron's personal kink?
    "Crow's Eye", more like Pink Eye. They absolutely butchered that character. I guess trashing the entire Dorne plot wasn't enough for them.
