What happened in TJ? 20 years ago, there would be 10x as many girls on the streets, compared to what I'm seeing here, even during the day. At night the alley (Coahuila) would really get crazy, like elbow to elbow. Literally hundreds of them. Looks like dozens now. Sad.

Locals pretty much avoid the club and street scene there. Rumors have it that a "locals only" Zona district will be established on the east side of the city. Away from gringo traffic.
Yep. I belonged to a few message boards about TJ in the early to mid 2000s but the place still managed to stay somewhat hidden from gringos. But when all the social media platforms started to emerge in the late 2000s, early 2010s, TJ could no longer remain a hidden gem.
