the pocket 3 has bigger sensor than any of the action cams, thats why its so good in low light.
I use DJI osmo pocket 3 in my vlog now.. before i use Iphone 13 pro max.. now its easy to vlog anywhere. This is also good for all introverts like me out there who’s very shy at public.. now I’m creating my memories through this..
I was not excited about it until I started using it. It's the most fun camera I have used in a while, just ridiculously fun and easy to use. ALSO great to see someone else who goes out and filmed in the snow all the time lol...

I wish I could say that. The stabilization just sucks - I'm sorry, it does. I did A/B with my GoPro, and there is just no comparison. I jack up the bitrate on my GoPro to 200 Mbps (twice what Osmo has), and the picture quality is way better. The GoPro falls down bad in low light, and that is what the Osmo excels at. But that is the only use case I have for it now. Overall I'm very disappointed.

A trick I’ve used for vertical video is instead of turning the screen for vertical video.. I just turn the whole camera while the screen is horizontal and the gimbal will turn vertical.

The Osmo Pocket 3 is one of my favourite releases of 2023. The video quality is amazing for such a small form factor camera.

Mate, they added the color correction for dlog on the display. Also you can tilt the osmo 90deg and shoot vertical in full res and with all features

I basically stopped filming after my old gopro broke and I bought lumix GH4 with a big gimbal. Just too much of a hassle to set everything up, especially when you're travelling and none of your friends have patience to "go back and do it again". I already shot more in the past week with my Pocket 3 than in the last year with my huge setup. No joke, when I'm going to shit, I'm taking this small camera and just playing around with the settings, because it's just so easy to pick it up. Also Normal mode sucks, DLog-M sucks, shoot in HLG to unleash the true power, its quite outstanding.
Just lost my GoPro few months ago & have been eyeing on this one for quite a while. Really great review Teppo. Thank you. Also idokay has to be my favorite on Artlist.

If they put a second lens on here or some way of giving you a 50mm or so equivalent for closer ups and more depth of field....and made it weatherproof/weather sealed.....it would pretty much be a perfect catch all camera.

One technique I saw for reducing the up and down movement of the gimbal is to hold it like a flashlight, and rotate the camera so that it points forward. That allows the gimbal to compensate for that head bobbing look.
Can I power it using an external power bank while it is in use?

I have the iphone 13 pro max but it's so annoying to use w/ the mobile phone gimbal. Incredibly bulky. Using an external mic is very bulky.
This is such a convenient camera for run-and-gun vlogging / content.
I've been using the Pocket 3 as my "daily Driver" for over a month now. First observation, the wireless mic is pretty quiet. I've been putting the volume up to 12 and I've turned off the noise reduction and been happier with the audio. I don't like having to crank up the volume in post. Make sure to get an approved Micro SD card. I started with a SanDisk Extreme and I've got multiple ruined videos due to glitches. I've since upgraded the Micro SD card and have been much happier. I strongly recommend picking up a good LUT, like what Teppo is selling. My workflow has been great with the LUTs loaded into Premiere.
I make homebody vlogs and also traveling around my city in korea but mostly at home videos and im using the Sony zv-1f but im considering to switch to the pocket 3 cc is it worth the switch?? as I mainly make homebody content like cooking and talking to the camera but I feel like if I had the p3 I would go out way more to vlog since its tiny and even hard to notice that im vlogging, is it worth the switch or should I stick to the zv-1f??

Great video! I'm so pumped to get my hands on this camera. It just solves so many of my setbacks as a solo-creator. Also, the Pocket 3 does have manual controls for shutter speed and ISO. Auto mode is the default, but you are not stuck with it!

Yes it's a fantastic camera for low light but does it hold a candle to any full frame sensor camera ? I'm guessing no ?

Hi Teppo! When you are contrasting the wide-angle lens vs. the regular lens, how far is your arm extended in front of you? Are you holding it comfortably, or is your arm sticking straight out in front of you?

I'd have loved if DJI put the Air 3 camera on it with the 24 and 70mm lens. Gimbal shots at this focal length just look great. Hope that's still coming with a Pocket 3s or so.

The lack of gamma assist is a big deal to me. I have a lot of trouble seeing the screen and making judgements I trust. However, I love the camera as a whole...

Hello. I want to use DJI Osmo Pocket 3 as a webcam for Twitch live streams. Will I have any problems with long-term use? What are your suggestions?
Love the osmo pocket 1, just tested it for the first time in the DJI store and thinking of an update to the 3. It would be a great Christmas surprise for me. Last but not least I there are so many good artists on artlist, it’s hard to pick one for me. But I realy enjoy editing to AVES tracks reaontly. ❤

Im not doing much other than having a 4K project file, exporting to TH-cam, one of the Final Cut Pro export presets.

Anything made by human will break or fail you, dropped it twice and it has survived but like all camera equip you got to be aware what your doing with it. I miss the pause between shooting but other than that enjoying it. Merry Christmas.

I personally think the Pocket 3 will be a great addition to iPhone 15 Pro Max, Since both need to do colour grade if shooting it in flat profile. Also I will leave my A7IV with 70-200 f2.8 GM II for photos, and ZV-E1 with 16-35 f4 PZ G, 24 F1.4 GM for B-roll .
You can get a lens protector that will help avoid scratches on the lens...but. You lose the ability to magnetically attach any lens mounts, like the wise angle lens, ND filters, CPL, or black mist filter.

I just got into pocket cameras, I wanted to for the longest time. I really almost went with that one but I went with a go pro hero 12 black for now because I got a super deal on a whole kit. I got the telescoping selfie stick but kind of wish it was a gimble! That's my new purchase

Ahhhhhh so many options nowadays. I am for looking something for capturing family moments and don’t want to haul and setup my professional equipment for that. For some reason I am looking into a camcorder (in 2024…crazy right) but for some reason camcorders gives me a bit of nostalgic feel and they are easy to use and can be dedicated only for that purpose. On the other hand Osmo 3 seems super convenient. What are your thoughts? Or just get both 😂

yes, you can do it.
DJI has come out with 2 great cameras: the Ronin 4D and the Osmo Pocket 3. Now, if they only could come out with something in the middle, it might very well be the perfect camera.

heel-toe, heel-toe. Ninga walk to keep the lens moving in a horizontal line and remove the up and down movement. :)
Can I assume you stabilized on post for your walking footage. I still got that bobbing effect with my Pocket3. Or maybe the snow helps soften your steps?
Nope! But I did get the bobbing effect from time to time
You still have to do ninja walk if you want good footage. I done plenty of test when walking normal and it’s bouncing.

@@TeppoHaapoja my dad does a lot of zoom and streams, teaching mostly. We've built him a studio, but he uses his MacBook air M2. Looking at a way for him to see the value in the tracking function or to have the camera a bit farther away so it doesn't point up his nose 😂

I'm looking for a camera I could put on its tripod while I'm presenting to a room of people, and it will record me as I walk around. Will the pocket 3 do a good job of that?

Dope vid! I don’t think any camera is future proof. There are always going to be better cameras and lenses. Pocket is perfect for travel / low profile uses. Other than that I would love to use my full frame / Apsc for travel but the weight and setup time takes time.

I used the pocket 2 for 2 years I LOVE THIS CAMERA! And DJI costumer service is the best if any company I’ve ever done business with. That being said I know for a fact ima be using the insurance on this. Pocket 2 is way more durable

It's a great camera, but a optical zoom 12-35 or 15-45 and a 4 axis gimbal to eliminate the up-and-down effect while waliking would make it perfect.
The standard 20mm is too narrow for vlogging, they includeded the lens as a work around, but I miss an optical zoom for objects on the distance.
I personally would gladly give up some portability in favor of a bigger, but more complete package.

I fatally Damaged my Pocket 2, which i loved. I'm broke, but this is a must-buy for me soon, especially with a return trip to Bangkok in 2024 - the 2, despite a clunky interface, just worked so well, and clearly the 3 is even better.

Actually, it can be used in high end professional shoots. I can attest. It can shoot in D-log to match all my Sony full frame cams. The quality is exceptional. I’m guessing you were unable to use it professionally.
It's got a tiny sensor and youre stuck at 20mm. Hardly useable in a professional environment unless it's maybe a C camera wide shot. The lens isnt particularly great quality either.
