WHY IS MY SPARK PLUG AND IGNITION COIL COVERED IN ENGINE OIL.

In this video I explain why your spark plug and ignition coil is covered in engine oil. When the spark plug and ignition coil is soaked in oil this will cause hard start, no start, poor engine performance, engine misfire, poor gas mileag and check engine light.

That’s not necessarily true, in most cases, it’s the spark plug tube itself, and not exactly the tube seal, because oil doesn’t rise that high in the valve cover, you would have to pull the spark plug tube and reseal it.

It could be one of a few things. Not necessarily this. In my case, the rocker cover was loose, probably from the factory, letting a little oil through the seals into the SP well. All it needed was tightened.

In case this helps anybody.. I was getting a misfire on cold starts, car sitting for 10 min or so.. turns out it was a loose valve cover. I torqued it down to spec all was fine then issue showed up 2 months later. Tightened her up likely above spec and all is good. Maybe it was a out of spec gasket idk.

Exactly the problem i have.. mechanic did ever bother to look further or run and compression tests etc and just said you need a new engine :(... mine is a 1.8 2009 ford focus petrol. hoping to go it fixes it. Question, what it 1 plug well is dry but 3 have oil in ? could that still be the seal or its it somthing worse ?

Love your videos bro! Would this bad seal create acceleration lag? Its Wierd out of nowhere the car wont accelerate then it jumps about a thousand rpms. Please answer my man😊

i removed the spark plug and some oil got into the cylinder im not sure how much.....is this going to effect anything?

good info about finding oil on spark plugs top or bottom side thanks. Wish I could find a trustworthy and affordable auto repair shop. DIY till the wheels and engine lock up and fall off. Cars and trucks today are bloated with tech and cheap crap with high price tags. Also what do you drive or like to work on? and whats some issues you face in your line of work with some cars and trucks.
