This was a game everyone had and everyone played back then, but Mike is dead right, most runs ended at the cafe. Nobody even lied about beating it, because no one would have believed them.

No. Most people owned ten to fifty games total throughout the NES era. People rented games, and this was only a rental for almost everyone, because they rented it, realized it was shit, and never played it again. The only reason you played a game like this more was when it was a gift.
People didn't start buying most games until the 64 bit era. That's when you needed a memory card, and many games took weeks to months to win without cheating through the use of a strategy guide or walkthrough. There were games in the 8 and 16 bit era that most people owned, because they were known to be games that either took longer than a weekend to win, or had a lot of replay value.
A classic example of a rental type game were fighting games like Street Fighter 2. Basically, you played it with friends over the weekend, and maybe tried to win as your favorite character. Later fighting games like Soul Calibur 2 added a lot of characters ro unlock an extra features to justify buying the game in full. The late 90s were when games transitioned, because of PC gaming becoming popular in the mid-90s.
Damn, I was born in 84 and never watched the movie nor played the game. My parents suck.

Greatest movie of all time. Universal should have never taken the ride out. I just bought some bb 2.0 back to the future shoes from Nike . They lace up automatically. It’s crazy. Also got the signed hoverboard by mjf and Lloyd. Anyways your content is always good, keep it up! Appreciate the time you take to make these videos.

Perfect Strangers game 😆😅😂🤣. Those days, I will never forget! Everything on T.V. was huge from 85-90. Today is so DRASTICALLY different than a day in 1985. What a difference in a day almost 40 years later. Star Trek became more real when everyone had the loud as F*** NEXTELS, WALKIE-TALKIE HAHAHAHA.

The shit this game does to screw you is down right scummy... holy fuck. Of course we all know its to make you play more so it can be rented longer. But maybe this backfired since kids would have their weekends ruined and quit. Major kudos to everyone that beat this.
This game and Top Gun drove me nuts as a kid. Never did end up beating them. Gave up. lol

I freakin hated this game as a kid. In Ghostbusters I could at least get the stairway. In Who Framed Roger Rabbit I could get to Doom. But in this fucking game, couldn't even get past the freaking cafe. Screw you LJN.

How can Part 2 and 3 be worse than this game?
Just watching this game for the first 3 minutes made me irritated. Can't even imagine trying to play through the whole game. Those Bees combined with all the other obstacles and the narrow pathways make this sadistically hard. Throw in the worst most repetitive music ever and I'd be probably melt down more than Mike. Not worth it unless your watching someone else. ;)
