Tip to anyone who has trouble with lip syncing: When recording the voice for the animation, record the voice actor's face while they say the line. It really helps when it comes to lip syncing because then you just choose the mouth that looks most like the picture.
N. Peters I love how great minds think alike, I have an 8mm camcorder which I use for just that reason
9:44 - Nah-ah. Not everyone's top teeth stay still when talking. It's well known that Canadians heads open & close from the top. (I saw it on that documentary series, South Park).

Taught Flash animation like this to my students, and we didn't have that Keyframe Caddy -- very handy tool and should really speed things up! (we would just have a library of different mouths, for different phonemes for example, and we would have to do a Swap Symbol instead)
yeah it totally changed my method when I found it!
My keyboard shortcuts are locked when I click anything on the plugin tho, I have to click out of it to make them work... stunts the workflow tbh
I love this series of tutorials, and this part is particularly golden. Lots of simple but important tips like moving the eyebrows in relation to the voice pitch, Keyframe Caddy, and the stationary upper jaw. Please keep these videos coming! They're very encouraging for someone like me who's so intimidated by animation. Thank you!
this frame caddy is amazing, I use to do all my drawing in photoshop because I started with only portrait drawing until I got my cintiq. but the caddy alone has made me switch to flash for facial drawing/animation because of a past video you did using it. it really does save SO much time
I think it's really though work for you guys to make animations movies and you've got very hard work to do, it's really time consuming, RESPECT to all animation maker !

Just started a new job where I am the graphic designer/video editor. When I say graphic designer I mean more brochures etc. Because of my editing skills they asked me to do a video to promote the company but didnt want any people in it so I have decided to attempt to draw and animate it all. I have been very impressed with this set of videos as it has helped me greatly as I had never done flash at uni as I was more into filming. I must admit it would of been simpler if I had an electronic pen as using a mouse is very difficult! However I am please with the results so far and hopefully I can make a great video now I have played about with this example. You tutor very well Jazza :)

I draw many different styles and would one day like to make my own short animations with one of the drawing styles I use similar to adventure time,Seeing this stuff is like woww. This is pretty cool watching it get made however it's also like damn it probably would take awhile for me considering there's' so many tools involved and frame rates and all that stuff I don't really know about lmao

there are more expensive ones, but this works well with wav files and you need some type of sound editor with flash. All flash has is a vector type of hand draggable fade in or out of sound. With Audacity, you can paste copy and all other types of editing. And of course its free.... always a good thing!

That's the sound of one of the characters talking, but because he scrolls through the timeline quite fast it sounds sped up and sounds weird.

Hello Jazza, could you do a tutorial on how to record our own audio? like, the software you use and processes and stuff....
Draw with Jazza , You put in the audio in the symbol itself to help animating while scrubbing the timeline. Do you remove it after you are done and leave the vocal track outside on the main stage in the end, right?

KeyFrame Caddy causes a warning and an error when I press load thumbnails and it breaks my vcam. Anyone know a way to fix this?

My only issue is, when I extend the keyframes, it plays every single frame from within the graphic symbol of each layer/keyframe caddy, I'm using CS5. Just wondered how to fix this?
