actually, the episodes ARE written and even animated before voting ends, they usually just remove the character that was eliminated from each scene after their elimination and rewrite/rerecord some stuff. That's why there's many animation errors where you can see eliminated contestants out of cake at stake/tlc, as sometimes they forget to remove them from some scenes.

I actually had to complete (animate, subtitle, audio edit, voice act, etc) an object show episode at about the same rate they set for themselves before (9 times until I quit), but the quality was so low and I can’t imagine making something that high quality within 3 weeks on animation… 3 weeks! Not only that but they were able to voice act so well and deliver great jokes, and the fact they did that at 12… wow. The dedication is amazing.
bfb used to be "sloppy bfdi", so everything would be sloppy, hence the hand drawn faces, and episodes would release every week or so. about at bfb 13 animations started getting better so they eventually scrapped the idea.

I think early pre split bfb’s animation was like that so they could pump out episodes faster, I heard that somewhere. That’s why it looks so different from bfdi-idfb and even nowadays animation (bfdia post hiatus and TPOT). I think they finally mastered the animation after a few episodes.

in theory, the idea of speedrunning an object show sounds tempting but it's crazy how much the Huang brothers put it into perspective. I mean, it's glaringly obvious when you unpack their BFDI animation journey that these guys really meant business.

well, michael and cary had good grades in school and not playing games. (well sometimes at least i heard), so i think that was why they made the show without complaining
For me personally, I’m not running with a schedule. I’m making a show just as a fun side hobby and don’t want to be rushed. I’m running at my own pace.
The Huang twins are so talented. They were 12 - 14 when working on the first season and took 2 weeks to do everything while also balancing things like schoolwork is crazy.

slight error, they actually used a mic that looks like a headphone mic, but standalone. they used this all throughout bfdi and part of bfdia, and until bfdia 6 obviously.
They actually do write the episode before voting ends and start animating it. They just make it basically how they originally want it to go, and after they get the voting results, they just slightly change it, but the actual plot and who wins/loses is the same.
They actually edited with trakaxpc not windows movie maker, Cary said that in his Timelapse video from his 11 year old comment and said 3 years ago he switched to Sony Vegas in November 2012. Just wanted to point out that on 2:08

Webz, I think The Twins used Vegas Pro 10 because: 1. I used Vegas and there is a transition from Vegas used in the part when Pin says that she hasn't done anything mean in like BFDI 2 2. JnJ made a vid in 2011 called "Tech Nickel Diff Eickel Tees" and it showed a rage comic person smashing their head on a laptop while in the background it says "Vegas Pro 10 has stopped responding" over and over again.
I believe they used some form of Vegas for a while. I recognize the filter they used for Yellow Face's "Bubble Transformer" ad from Vegas 9, though it could have been from a different version too.

I used to leave at 4pm so in 7 or 8 days because it was optional and ny mom though it wasn’t and somewhere near February it stops so yeah. Also my object show is called Battle For Reak Island/BFRI
That is probably why they shortened the voting period for modern episodes, to get more time to produce the next episode. They truly care for their viewers.
technically bfdi had 2 more crewmembers, but temporarily. adam voiced nickel in bfdi 17, and justin voiced yellow face in one of the ads and nate groth (the original va of balloon) did one of the cake at stake songs from bfdi 21
