Our dairy bull calf prices here in the US have just gone crazy! We are selling 2-5 day old Holstein bull calves for $600 a calf. Angus dairy cross baby calves are selling for as much as $9.20 a pound at our local livestock market here in NY state. Most farms have stopped raising Feeder calves as the $$ is in young calves. Don't know how long these prices will stick around but for now we love it. Love watching your channel!

Great video Tom, appreciate the update on the family side of things. As for the auction what can I say, quality will out! If your product is good and consistent word gets around. There is an old saying: It's not just what you know but who you know. Result, the more positive exposure you get at auctions the better your reputation grows. I'm a positive 90% after watching your vlog how about you.

I had a 2000 ford ranger, only had to put a new radiator in it. Until 2023 all of a sudden every thing started going on it . so sadly i finally had to get rid of it.😮😂
Ford does stand for fix or repair daily.. I love my Dodge Dakota truck and my date night car...a solstice.

Mine was a faulty door lock, kept locking itself every few minutes even when ive locked it, took ages to find and drained the battery over a couple of days.
TB is a pain to have to go through.

thing with newer cars is that they freak out if the battery is to empty. so even if you use starter cables it some times don't work just because the car ain't got enough juice to power all the electronics and sensors while also cranking the engine.
Your right tom. You make the effort to keep your animals right, then people will pay a better price.

Glad this time at market went better! Every time a learning experience and then you keep going on from there. And I adore that your cows are so varied in terms of colours, spots, etc. Is it more a personal preference for looks, or do they give more milk?
Great job at the market/sale. We're not allowed to video at ours (we'd expose their bad stuff). But great feedback about the previous sold calves, that's good to hear they handle the stress of moving around well

That’s a very good price that you have gotten Tom.
In South Africa the big calves you sold would have been R10750 each If I changed the currency. Here in South Africa that will be the price of a big dairy cow or a heifer ready for bull already pregnant.

The cheapest calves I can find here in Arizona are $800.00 and they don't look near as healthy as yours.

Bit confused as I thought in cattle under a certain age, this tb test throws too many false positives. Not routinely tested in Ireland anyway
You have good stock . Healthy as your not bringing cattle on Yr farm. So Yr animal are not picking up out side germs to hit Yr blood lines . As alot of market cattle mix with so many from movements. 😢

not a bad price at all at market , down here in Gloucestershire the cattle like that are strong price at market now , round here we have TB test every year because we in a bad area but if a neighboring farm gets a reactor we are tested again , its a nightmare and having to pay for a extra test when you want to sell , the margins is so low that paying for extra tests is anothe massive expense sometimes i wonder if it ever worth it
You need to find somebody like I did you find somebody to come to your farm once a week once a month when you’re ready to sell cash let them come buy them right at your place and they get the home away and make it worse like me right nowthey’re coming twice a month to pick up calves I don’t have to deal with them they’re gone

Why are some of them brown, are they all Angus? I've seen them look red brown from being in the sun but these haven't been in the sun? Is it because they are cross?
