Overrated game, i said this because i played it like almost 2 times. And it just meh
RDR2 wasn't just the game of the year if you ask me, and a ton of other people who actually played it, and the other titles. It's literally an experience far beyond gaming, which never happened before, which SETS standards for the other studios and ultimately which gives the player hundreds of hours to get 100%, an immersive experience surrounded by beauty anywhere you stop, no matter if it's day or night. Story, secrets and easter eggs, graphics, variety, and many more. It's to this day, by far, the best single player triple A title experience for me!

@@Gingeriscoming skyrim is a great title for sure. Only problem is that nowadays it’s outdated in terms of animations, graphics and that can partially be solved with mods but again.. not even skyrim comes close to red dead if you ask me

@@justsomedude7747 you got to admit, it has better npcs. None of read dead’s non essential npcs do anything. They don’t even have names. There are lots who stand in one place 24/7. Every single one of skyrims npcs has a story, a routine, a name and general depth. Also Skyrim has more content
I sometimes forget I’m playing rdr2 during cutscenes and think it’s a movie and while playing on my own I sometimes feel like I’m really there. I can’t imagine how crazy Gta 6 will be

GOW 2018 is one of my favourite games. But RDR2 was way ahead of its time with regards to the story, open world, mechanics, animations etc. It definitely should've won GOTY

You wouldn't find fun in elden ring too
The problem with GoW is they changed it to be more like Assassin's Creed because of the popularity of AC at the time.

One of my favorite details is any dead body you find in game will have a X on the map. You don’t need to kill them but it’ll always show you a dead body on the map. To further this, in the mission where you collect debt from the dude in Rhodes who grave robs the lady to pay his debt. That lady isn’t shown on the map as an X until after he had unburied her. Other cool details are like after uncles botched wagon job in chapter 3 and y’all hide out in the barn only to get into a shootout and flee. If you stay in the area you’ll still see Corn walls men patrolling looking for y’all in the woods.(I mean after the mission when Arthur tells everyone to split up)Other cool examples of similar stuff, if you stick around after a job a lot of times you’ll get a wanted level even if there is no witness as if you just took too long to leave the scene promoting the speediness of jobs. All really cools details

The details of RDR2 just makes you wonder what Rockstar can do with GTA 6

I’ve seen eagles flying with snakes and fish in their mouths. I also have been attacked by muskrats numerous times. It’s personal at this point. Idk what their problem is they just hate me. I even watched an opossum pass out while I followed it.

Rdr2 is the greatest game I've ever played,the storyline is just immaculate it made me shed tears by the end. The connection that the player feels with the npcs specially the gang really hits hard.

Game is truly amazing. Vast, random, really well detailed. Many many options available and more. Phenomenal habitat and historical world. And that's the problem. I don't know what I should start from. Size and possibilities are terrifying me.
It's a Crime, and a Joke RDR2 didn't win game of the year. The most detailed and realistic game EVER made. They rewarded a fairy tale instead.

Honestly 2018 was a stacked year. God of War won GOTY and it deserved it completely it’s also like RDR2 being a continuation to an older series that was absolutely and still is phenomenal and really having an amazing story with amazing graphics and design. Any other year except for maybe 2022 RDR2 wins in a landslide.
GTA6 will be 200GB , not because it’s rockstar’s limit, but yours

The only game that comes close to Red dead 2 narratively is the Witcher 3. And that’s also a game that holds up to this day graphics wise.
Why does it matter so much how realistic the world is and the setting.

Rdr2 is not a game, its an alternate life. Its an experience far beyond gaming. LOVE FROM PAKISTAN.
Even if u leave the main game, the wildlife and hunting experience alone is enough for me to make the above statement. The level of detail is spectacular. The movement and behavior of iguana, rats, boar, deer, elk..everything..foxes spook from far, deers spook from far, boar from less far, crocodiles either spook when very close on horse or attack when super close or in water, just like in real life. i wonder how they made the exact movement and behaviors possible in this detail. The feel and unique experience of every gun. The expressions and body movement of all people. The voices one hear roaming here n there. Its not a game sir, it an experience way beyond.

I stand by this. GOW won Game of the Year in 2018 because it was the best game. RDR2 didn’t win because it’s a life experience and transcended the definition of gaming.

I love both rdr2 and GoW4 and if you'll ask me rdr2 is better since the world is more alive you have much more thing to do around other then the main story missions and in GoW you can only complete quests and challenges , the exploration is way better and other then the combat system rdr2 won in every aspect.

i beat red dead redemption 2 and god of war and i just felt mire connected to the story of rdr2 rather than the story of GOW, but GOW is still a good game, i just think rdr2 is better
