The UK ambulance service is massively overstretched so the days of sending one just in case have gone . Not sure where you’re from but in the UK you don’t just make entry, on arrival crews get to work plumbing hydrants and such to ensure a constant water supply from the pump before entry, and at the same time a plan of action is made by the OIC after the 360 evaluation, only then and if considered safe will BA crews enter
2:48 the BA crew go in and start the interior attack. As you witnessed, the transitional attack, using a line straight from the tank knocked a lot of the fire back and saved further spread inside. But I concede more solid building construction in Europe makes this more viable as their is less of a risk of pusing fire into voids etc.

Why do people insist on standing around thinking that they are invincible to dangers around them and where the heck were the police to stop traffic and clear pedestrians.
Anyone know how it started????
Soooooo are they gonna shut the road down or wait until a firefighter gets hit
And the buses and cars just keep coming. WTF
where the hell was the police? all those cars and buses literally just driving straight through
You would get way many more views if you put extra tags in the description. such as The Crown Pub Sutton High Street Surrey / London 5th August 2018
Not a policeman to re direct traffic or protect the work of Firemen. You’re right, better stay out of Europe or any civilized zone..
What are you saying
where's this
That's what happens when no one obeys the health and safety regulations or is not inspected on a regular basis. I know all this cos I work in a pub as a kitchen porter assistant and am trained in health and safety fire regulations.
Gwarn robbie ... save the crown
Good stop guys.
Nothing worse than warm beer
what the f*ck is that guy doing woth that extinguisher😂😂
The police don’t have to arrive before because they cant put the fire out only traffic control
Fire ‘at’ the Crown pub surely.
Sad to see the building burn. I do need to point out the title is misleading
*gary and tony have left the chat*
#1:14 another fire truck comes fast
Here in America, we fight fires from the inside out.
Think they did that once BA teams went inside .
We do in the U.K. too.
BA teams inside
Somebody got too drunk and thought it would be great to use a lighter on the wall
Damn this used to be my home town.
probably should keep him from going back in
Apart from idiot with fire extinguisher that was a damn good knock down by attending crews
You know what , I agree he wasnt making much difference , but psychologically he feels that he has done something . I would have let him empty his extinguisher as long as he was in a reasonably safe area .
That's right you burke lay on the horn!
wow more people show up to watch the firemen doing their work like its some theatre show and yeah that guy with fire extngisher was hoping to achieve putting the fire out but he was failing miserably
The yanks would still be making there mind up which camera to look in to
Der Typ mit dem Handfeuerlöscher ist ja lustig
I agree
2 Pumps for a structure fire?
Maybe the next pump was on their way but we’re in the next patch? The video is only 6 minutes long
Yes, most of the time that is enough, unlike the U.S. where they have 2 pumps working and an other 26 doing nothing.
yep sometime u may get 3 pumps n a ladder
@@johnnz4375 every dept have they own standards on how they do things u guys need to stop the bashing about the other fire depts cause we are all here to do a job and go h safely at the end of our shift 2 truck 4 trucks doesnt matter all countries are different so how can u compared
@@johnnz4375 lol, true sometimes. Depends on the department. We send 3 engines (1 for RIT), 1 ladder and one Battalion Chief on residential fires.
Water fairies weren’t doing it right, should have parked the 2nd appliance so there was no way traffic was coming past!
Where is the police? Where is the ambulance?
Rene Zellmer why do they need an ambulance, all fire fighters are first aid trained and can call one if required
An ambulance will only be sent automatically if the fire is what is known as a ' persons reported '. If it isnt they will have to request one if needed . The UK ambulance service is massively overstretched so the days of sending one just in case have gone . In the late 1980s/early 1990s an ambulance used to be sent to Automatic Fire Alarms at hospitals and care homes ( as well as the Fire Service ) , but that cant realistically be done now .
Please note fire crews from the USA first fire hose out and water within 15 seconds not mins
jonroyo Fifteen seconds- that would be a world record. There are tens of thousands of fire departments in the US. Some are paid depts, most volunteer. Some are great at what they do, some are not. Everyone who watches videos like these should keep an open mind, much of what’s being done you can’t see. God speed for all the worlds fire fighters
@@davidweston6653 15 to 45 seconds is indeed a realistic time at some departments, depending on the unit and its layout. First attack would be with a attack hose reel (guess it's also known as booster hose or booster reel) while the others set up a normal attack hose, if necessary supply hose etc
Any English left in England?
Bigot
Yes , plenty thanks .
I GREW UP IN THAT FLAT NOOOO 😭😭😭😭

The police are obviously way too busy knocking on doors threatening the public regarding sending hurtefull tweets on line

Oic should no better cone that road off...crew safety paramount....come on boys don't let us u.k fire fighters down by not doing the basic scene safety
Jog on Kevin. You obviously work in a rural area where naff all happens. Just done ya wmi?
@@beardmore99 actually no all... I've been in the brigade 33 yrs and worked in 2 metropolitan brigades so do your homework before you put your foot in it again
Oh Kevin I wish you was my guvnor. Not. U.k firefighters regardless of what brother Kevin says you do a great job and haven't let anyone down. Come on kevin show some support for your fellow brothers/sisters. Your watching a very small snippet of this incident and whilst I do agree crew safety is paramount I think to criticise fellow firefighters to be unacceptable and I'm sure after your 33 years of dedicated service appreciate that different brigades have different tactics and I have absolute faith that after the hydrant etc was made into that the focus would of then turned to tape of the road etc. Good job guys. I'm sure brother Kevin will be hanging his boots up soon if he hasn't already. I wish you a happy retirement sat in your armchair surrounded by barrier tape ;)
@@beardmore99 not a case of different brigades do different procedures safety is safety not ifs or buts .if anyone's injured the buck stops at the oic plain and simple .So the oic should no better and so should the pump operator who should of coned off the exit for his own safety let alone the crews safety.
Bore of Kevin. Hes getting a water supply for his muckers to help save savable property. Then promptly move onto coneing of I'm sure. If your so wound up by it I suggest you make a report to hse about it.
Well done lfb. Great stop. Rather than turn into a full roof alight you managed to get this under control within 6 mins of this video. Unfortently in Kevin's brigade they are still busy filling out aras and explaining to the pub owner why his roof is fully engulfed.
What a shitty fire hydrant design
Most common type in the world
Not really. It prevents interference and cannot be damaged by vehicle collisions.
Don't these guys believe in interior attck
No point putting people in harms way if you don't need to.
UL with some progressive FD's in North America (Such as FDNY) have been doing a lot of work on this type of fire attack. But I concede more solid building construction in Europe makes this more viable as their is less of a risk of pusing fire into voids etc.
Yes, they do, but they don’t believe in stupidity (like solo firefighters wandering into structures with no BA entry control). BA crews work in pairs always.
They do , which is what happened .Did you not see the BA teams donning up ?
Where was this , what town or city ??
Sutton , which is a part of the suburbs of outer London and is one of greater London's 32 boroughs .
