I had an 2015 E350 and traded in and got a 2020 E53 with literally all of the options, and only 9k miles, this thing is a beauty and a blast to drive. I know I’m going to get pulled over eventually, the sound of the engine is amazing. Handles great. Test drove the GT53 and it’s too heavy like someone said. The E53 is way better in everything. I almost bought a e450 at the beginning of the year. Glad I waited and so lucky I found this fully loaded. Test drove it and pulled the trigger by the weekend.

Just ordered the E53 in selenite grey here in the UK @ 435 BHP + 22 BHP. Shifting up from the E400d @ 340 BHP. I absolutely LOVE the E400d, but I can't wait until mid-April !!

I’m tempted by the 400d mainly because of the 700nm and I guess economy… But Wondering if the 53 is much worse in real life consumption… also is it much harsher in terms of ride quality?…eying 400d with airmatic. Love your review! especially like the detail you invest in the screen options and submenus. Nobody else does this to the extent that you do, and yet, this is what most buyers (including myself) get hung up on AFTER they buy the car!!
The e450 shouldn't be skipped. The power and engine smoothness difference (over the 350) is definitely noticeable while riding softer than the AMG's, and there are many who prefer it that way. Otherwise, great review! The 53 is definitely a sweet spot in the segment
I compared the E450 4 matic and the E AMG and the time to 60 mph was 4.6 sec vs. 4.1 seconds. And as you say theE450 ride is fantastic. So I figured, I'm retired, I have the extra half second to waste, so the E450 is perfect for me and saved $$

The two M256 3.0l engines have 12ft ponds of torque difference, plus 40 HP more ,,, These minuscule metrics have no interest to this '2023 E450 wagon owner. .. Mercedes have much better interior design than Audi and BMW. Not sure about the actual quality of everything, but the design is modern, luxury and it makes the interior looks amazing. Audi has a more minimal, plain interior. BMW is weird because it does look nice but the design does not look cohesive.

Your C43 growls and it will outperform the E53 AMG because it is lighter. If you want pure performance with stiff ride, do the C43 AMG. If you want more luxury and super comfort, buy the E53 AMG. Either way, both use the reliable M276 engine.

The M256 appears to be the more reliable and definitely stronger so it can handle more power if you decide to modify it. Stock for stock performance, they are about the same in a straight line. E53 is around 600lbs heavier. One thing that the E53 gets is Amg performance 4matic+ whereas the C43 gets Amg performance 4matic (permanent awd) that’s 31:69 front:rear. 4matic+ is a variable awd system, not permanent. Although it can run in awd all the time, it has the ability to become completely rwd. It can send a maximum of 50% to the front and up to 100% to the rear, similar to xDrive or haldex style
Living in Québec, where temperatures can drop to -20°C, I experienced numerous issues with my E53 AMG. Most of the electronic components had to be replaced due to their unreliability, including the rear camera, heated seats, instrument cluster, headlamps, and rear window motors. Not to mention, the car is made of cheap plastic, and the outdated software was never updated. You have to pay extra for every single feature, like remote start, for example. The leather seats wore out so badly after just 40,000 kilometers that they looked like they belonged to a 20-year-old car. I had to replace them entirely. In short, I sold the car and I’m happy to say I will never buy from MB again.
Man I been wanting to experience a German car specifically a bmw 3 series and hopefully by this time next year I can put myself in a situation to be able to make that happen and I love my SUV but I want that sporty car feel. ✌️

Great channel, but on the Jaguar, the glass on the door was lowered to the end, as with any car, it loses a fuller, better sound when the door is closed.
i have the pre E450 and its basiclly the same as the e53 without hybrid and costs less in every aspect. The step to an 63 is immensely high, it just eats your wallet and if you drive a lot, having to fill up the tank every 350km is very annoying to me. if its a summer only car then okay but all year around its just to taxing

M550i is just a loaded 530i xDrive with an lsd and the top N63. E53 is essentially an E63 with the high output M256 and no lsd. Engine aside, the M550i is closer to any other normal 5 series than it is to the M5. You can tell when you drive it and push the car, the feeling you get when you drive isn’t as special or fun as an M5 even when tuned to make the same power as an M5. You just have to drive them all and see for yourself (540i with all the m-sport packages, M550i, and M5. E450, E53, and E53). The E53 feels like an Amg, M550i doesn’t feel like an M
Am I dreaming or out of all these base amgs , c43 , E53 and even c63 . They do 0-60 in over 4 seconds while the cla45 does that in 4 seconds flat . My best guess is that the cla being the lightest probably gives it the edge since it also has about 390hp but jeez . There’s no consistency with these amgs
And this is exactly why I would not own a Mercedes yeah my car got a quad turbos /electric motors simultaneously work with the engine on acceleration Holy shit that thing must go to 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds no 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds so a little faster than your ST explorer and my Mercedes cost twice as much cost me 300 dollars for an oil change
