You mentioned the E63 but, of course, you can only get that as a saloon or estate, not as a coupe. I tried the coupe and the saloon back to back and bought the saloon partly because it felt more solid. Being pillarless certainly seems to cost the coupe some of its rigidity. The saloon, especially in premium plus and with the night pack, looks, in my view, just as good as the coupe. Great engine and really economical. I have driven on the German autobahns in it…. wow did it go.

Biased but save the coupes should be a thing - makes a Mustang look like good value but a GR86/BRZ Mustang or Audi/BMW/Merc trilogy are limited options varying in affordability - this car in a colour other than grey looks substantially better than the saloon however they’re all a dying breed with e-4 door coupes maybe the future if we still want style and substance?

had one for 18 months - i thought it was brilliant - actually better than the amg gt63s i went into for only 3 months, then defected into porsche pan turbo hybrid ST. but e53 was excellent drive train - bit rigid on broads. internals good, decent driving position - loved the feel of it but not up to porsche in driving experience but different price band so unfair comparison. merc tech top notch.

Like Tom said in an earlier video, I think it's disappointing that you can't get a non-AMG six cylinder any more. I would have loved an E450 coupe, old-man spec with beige leather and polished burr walnut. As much as the E coupe is a brilliant looking car, I'm not fond of the AMG spec grill and the 'Night Package' - blacked out window surrounds and mirror caps - which you can't delete from an E53.

Man.... I miss Australia soooo much. I already have an E-class coupe and I really like it. I'm here mostly to listen to someone speak, Australian!
BTW, silver is a very good color to have (especially in Canada), because dirt doesn't stick to it like it does on a white or dark colored car. I have always bought only black or dark ruby red, cherry red, metallic cars. But I discovered that silver cars, I only have to wash it once for every five or six times I'd have to clean a black car. I bought silver because it was the only E coupe on the lot; and if it's a Merc', color doesn't really matter to me; it's a Mercedes Benz.

@@v12-s65 yep! As I mentioned, love it to death. But I definitely feel a difference in response with the I6 because of the electric torque. Performance wise its not too different but I did feel a difference. It would mostly be for the better spec! It would be pretty identical if i went to a pre 2021 v6 model.
The only options I don’t have are adaptive cruise, lane keep, and massage seats. I got everything else! I would want those missing features and anything but black on black 😁. What is your spec!!? The AMGs usually come with good kit, I bet it’s beautiful

    • @v12-s65
      @v12-s65 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@tool8337 it's a swiss car therefore already well equipped.
Yes boring black on black, but I wanted it this way (white would have been the only other option for me)
      Highlights are:
      - premium plus pack which includes
      - panoramic roof
      - burmester sound system
      - multi beam leds
      Also
      - Heated and ventilated massage seats
      - head up display
      - alcantara steering wheel
      - all drive assists
      - 360 parking camera
      - wood trim on the center
Now my car is already a good spec, there are 3 nice things missing which would have been:
-extended leather (like shown in the vid and also really nice)
      - burmester 3d (my personal favorite)
      - alcantara head liner (adds a nice touch)
Obviously you can also have carbon trim, but that is more a matter of taste
      Heated steering wheel is missing
Other than that I'm happy :)

I think that the Mercedes coupe could improve the door placement, length and balance ( central between the wheel arches which would provide superior access to the rear seats - the Chevrolet Camaro has the perfect door ratio although it lacks legroom ) the electronic seat console on the door are the first to fail in wet weather for obvious reasons, controls belong on the centre console or dash. A rear hatch would have been an improvement for luggage access but Mercedes decided to take the cheap route. Rear reclining seats should be standard on any " Luxury " vehicle for obvious reasons and cushioning and lumbar should not be limited to the front row because " Luxury " !! Personally the digital display that stretches across 2/3rds of the interior looks cheap and removes the classic placement of the analogue clock from the optimal position. Since Mercedes bought the company that created the Stealth-drive electric performance assist they could have flexed an appropriate power upgrade but they have the bare minimum in true Mercedes fashion and in a world where 22" rims are becoming common you would expect a high end car manufacturer to step up to the plate and bat hard especially when they market it with AMG badging and while we are on the topic of performance Mercedes failed to satisfy men that prefer a real manual stick shift transmission as opposed to the limp wrist automatic for the lazy, disabled or uncoordinated drivers being approved these days that can't reverse park without a reverse camera combined with an IMAX screen on the dash so they don't even need to bother turning their arthritic necks. In closing, looks are decieving at Mercedes has camouflaged cheap for those that don't know any better
