    I've played this game for 1200 hours. Suddenly know that a squad fully in green cover WILL NOT get suppressed. What a shameful. Thanks you Han...

      WildeHilde I think it was changed in a patch. You can get suppressed behind heavy cover now, it just takes longer.

    Building cover: 50% damage, 55% of normal accuracy, works at all ranges, not directional, flamers do more damage and hit every model in the building.
    Green cover craters, 50% damage, 50% normal accuracy, doesn't work within 10 range, not directional, flamers do more damage
    Yellow cover craters, 50% normal accuracy, doesn't work within 10 range, not directional
    Green cover objects (walls, tractors, sandbags etc.), 50% damage, 50% normal accuracy, doesn't work within 10 range, flamers do more damage, directional
    Yellow cover objects, 50% normal accuracy, doesn't work within 10 range, directional
    No cover, no modifiers
    Red cover, 125% damage, 125% accuracy, not directional, works at all ranges.
    What I don't know is how building sandbags on red cover works, do you get green cover bonuses if you're being shot from the right direction and red penalties otherwise? no cover otherwise? Anyone know?

    There was one thing about cover which wasn't mentioned about the British units unless it's in another video. The British infantry sections have a higher fire rate when in cover also. The vickers machine guns have increased range when garrisoned in buildings. :)

    you forgot one of the most important parts, covers have minimum range of 10 meters, except garrison cover.

      @@MadTad THis is a late reply, but what it means is that the defensive bonuses you get from cover do not apply if enemies are shooting at you from within 10 range of that cover

    Was going to mention shot blockers also. So if a wrecked tank is between you and enemy... this may block some shots from both sides even tho neither is getting cover bonus technically.

    good stuff man. you considered doing shoutcasts over replays? would be nice to see your insight on certain things, replays with casts are the great for teaching.

      I have done some shout casts in the past but now there are not enough good replays to analyse. :(

    I find it hard to micromanage at this level once the battle is joined and there are multiple sections skirmishing all over the map.

    Do Infantry Sections get their weapons bonus individually for each model or you only need to have one guy in cover for the whole squad to get the bonus?

    What about putting tanks and armor cars between heavy covers Hans ? or hide them between buildings in order to escape from enemy range of view ? may be you can give us a good micro tip about this , thank's alot

    Does gun depression of tanks (And tank destroyers to that extent) matter in CoH2? I was playing one game when I saw an allied Panzer 4 standing in a position up on a hill, like, it was halfway getting on top of the hill, but its gun looked like it could actually hit units on top. Do you maybe have a video or something on that? I know gun depression is a mechanic in some games, but does it apply in CoH2? Maybe it could be used as a hull down position?

    Is it true that HMGs can still supress enemy troops that have a higher elevation (so no visible hits from MG shots) as easy as if the HMG has the higher elevation?

    Is it worth it to go for PPSH on conscripts for a commander as most of the commanders that give this are quite shit in my opinion unless there is an exception which you know of commander wise?

      Generally its not worth it tbh, guard mortar is your best bet most times.

      I think this works like a stone wall, for example.
      Would also make sense.

      Infantry can use Tanks as green cover but no1 does this as you are always moving your tanks.

      It is a good way to protect the pioneers while they are repairing the tank on field. If there is no serious At around.

    Do flamethrowers do less damage to units in negative cover?

      No they do not. However units which are in water (which is negative cover most of the time) take reduced damage from the flamethrower. I want to say they have a 50% damage reduction from the flamethrower but don't quote me on that value. However keep in mind that while if you are in water and taking reduced damage from the flamethrower, water is generally negative cover and units in negative cover will take more damage from other sources of damage. For example if a Soviet penal squad is upgraded with a flamethrower only 1 model has the flamethrower while the other 5 have rifles. It would be best here to stand in open ground and spaced out to fight the penals which would only allow the flamethrower to only hit 1 model and while not having the other 5 penals taking advantages of the negative debuffs from the negative cover such as water. All scenarios in CoH2 are a case by case basis though. If you find a situation where only the flamethrower model is left on a penal squad and you have say 1 model left on a grenediar squad it would be best to enter water for the damage reduction.

      depends: when the negativ cover is "water" like a river or so it helps against the flames. thats the only way negativ cover is good in a way

    how does the cover work when some one is holding a position and you rush to the other side of their cover does the both squads have the cover bonus against each other or what the devs said something about it a while back but i cant remember anymore

      Cover doesnt count when squads are on top of each other.

      if you are within a range of 10 units (i think), no cover is applied except building cover... so its not a good idea to stand right next to a building and fighting the unit inside, even if you are behind a stonewall (like on kolodny), because you won't benefit, but the occupying unit will.
      even if you don't benefit from the cover if you are too close, special rules might still apply, as the brits' and osttruppen combat bonuses in cover

    is cover always cover? Like you compare a higher green cover with a lower green cover? Like fresh sandbags are much higher than nearly destroyed sandbags? or a tiger wreck compared to a kubelwagen wreck? Is the protection always the same? I mean, in the real life you will probably get hit more often, if more of your body is shown to your enemy's rifle

      All cover stays the same until it gets destroyed. So freshly built and almost destroyed sandbags provide the same cover. Same with tiger wreck and kubel wreck.

    I don't like ghosting but keep telling people to do it until they have to fix it. Abusing the fuck out of broken bs seems like the only way to get them fixed.
