This was my first tutorial video for Company of Heroes 2, I was brand new and did not know how anything worked. Now I have 1,500 hours and I come back to this video to see how far I have come. Thank you so much my friend, I hope you are doing well.
I've got the RTS urge again, and only just remembered I own CoH2 . Great video considering the total lack of rebinding without 3rd party software so your video was a great help.
Something I would like to add to this which I don't think was covered. Note that the reverse vehicle option is also available on your AT guns. When you retreat backwards with the AT gun you will still benefit from 'green cover' bonus. If you turn your AT gun around to retreat you will have negative cover and take a lot more damage. This can be a game changer if you do this properly! The green cover system is directional. Which means even if you have good cover but you are on the wrong side of it you will still take negative effect damage
I just found this treasure of a game and its my first RTS , although not much online pvp goes on I'm having a blast playing the campaign . Looking forward to the third installment of the game and seeing the comment section there as well !
Thank you, I do not have Gaming PC, I am Mac OS user, but just bought Steam Deck old 1 TB, All the Company of Heroes I have in Deck are so intensely fun art. 1, 2 and 3.
Hey thanks man had this game forever just started playing it with some buds and they're like level 100 + in mulitplayer and I play with them and i'm literally a noob watched this vid did a few games against pc...played with them my games fucking sky rocketed from what they were so thank you man this helped a lot.
Very good vid man! I've played COH since the first one came out, but to be honest I never thought of most of these things. So I will go and put them into practise.
Thank you sir very very helpful some of those important hot keys I didn't even know. So thank you for making this and good job would like to see some more maybe an advanced guide or something.
I watched the full video and i really suck at this game but i will try to practice thouse tips between great video man i will give a like and subscribe.
so my problem is: right hand--> mouse, left hand --> arrow keys (to move around the map) so how am I able to press the rest of the keys like ASTU etc ??
Very helpful. I'm a newbie to this awesome game. I will be watching this and others like it along with playing to get the hang of it. Right now I'm getting my ass shot off in the ardennes, but when I get my eye, look out.
Nice video! I have a question for you, I did find the first game in the series, kinda hard thinking of builds etc and try to see what your enemy is doing. I'm not very good at any RTS game. But would you recommend this game? Is it possible to learn and face ppl around your own skill level? Cos facing ppl that are good at a game, early on kinda kills my spirit of keep playing the game..
can I retreat only damaged units ? like you have 3 units on small number "1" then 1 squad from them got bombed and u want to make it retreat quickly is there a shortcut?
Okay, so I checked out youtube videos for starcraft 2 (Sc2) and company of heroes 2 (CoH2). I think I'll prefer CoH2 more. I just don't like the whole extreme sci-fi in starcraft. Sc does seem quicker overall to finish a game. Also, Sc it seems more 'outplays' can be done quicker/ easier turnarounds. While CoH2 seems so much longer to finish one match. However, the environment and weaponry in CoH2 is much more to my preference/taste and the gameplay seems pretty good. So yeah, I'll definitely try this game out soon. Thanks for the video :) The one thing that irritates me in RTS is at a 'high level', you need to be able to 'click' extremely fast to get things done. While in real life, you'd just be ordering out commands and not fast clicking your way to victory. If I come up with a plan, in order to execute it, I need to click several times and quickly, to pull it off. If it is done to slowly, your plan may fail due to slow execution via clicking. I.E: If I come up with a plan quicker than my opponent, but my opponent is significantly faster at clicking, they may win even with a worse plan. So here's an idea, for anybody looking to make a RTS: A) Make a game where you just need to speak (voice commands). B) Make a game where you reduce clicking without limiting options/still have a vary broad range of options. I know both suggestions are difficult, as they have obvious obstructions. I.E: A) Voice recognition programs are extremely bad with accents. Or somebody may say a command/come up with a plan, which doesn't exist in the game. B) Not sure how to fix that solution, without severely limiting options... I.E: It may turn out like a card game lol. There's already an excellent game for reaction time testing, while outplaying = LoL. Yes, it doesn't require as much macro thinking and more of a micro game (at least, in solo que). However, that's all I need for a game which tests my reaction time. For RTS games, I want it to be more focussed on who can come up with the best strategy in a short span of time, rather than who can click faster. Sure, once you're starting out playing the game, it is more focussed on strategy than clicking, but clicking quickly is still a very important factor. As you go to a higher level/in competitive play, it is essential that you're good at clicking very quickly and that really puts me off playing RTS games like Sc2 and CoH2.
How do I give my AI teammate orders? I have to play with one in several of the Theater of War scenarios. Most of the time they build random junk and get overrun. When a control point is taken, even near them, they exhibit no sense of urgency to take it back.
+alberto9911 now after getting to the point where he says that in the video "dash or question mark key" I am confused. The dash key is 2 keys to the left of the back space and the question mark key is 1 key to the left of the right shift key and it shares the key with the forward slash, not dash. So I will have to try it out in the game to figure out what he is saying.
this game need a fast thinking and short decision, i'm bad at this the strategy plan that i've made it doesnt done because the enemy counter it and i cant make short decision how to that. I really need to learn micro like this, i'm slow hand and i'm using WASD to move my camera. Because I've played a lot fps games this make me playing coh2 and dota2 using that keys to move. I stil waiting coh2 update the patch for rebinding keys would be very good.

Thanks! The game literally tells you nothing when you first start haha
+dallas doan Reminds me of Pure Pwnage only without the satirical aspect. Great vid man!

Simple and clear. Thanks, mate!

Very well done. Would have been nice to see key overlays, but not everyone is perfect. Yet this was perfect enough for me.
Very helpful for starters and more advance player
The quick look by clicking on the mini-map I knew but the hot keys I didn't know, good now I can speed up my gaming :D
I am new to this game and thank for video it helps. You did a great job!
Glad the video helped!
Thanks for the tips man, going to practice my CoH macro against some bots! Only just upgraded from 1 to 2 and easy AI absolutely smashed me!
Hi! Thanks for this guide...The zoomed out view also helps to appreciate the game...
Nice video..thanks for making it. You do a nice job of explaining things simply and efficiently.
Thanks for the help dude! I was getting stressed 'cause I was having a really slow response when playing online against other gamers.

like you have 3 units on small number "1" then 1 squad from them got bombed and u want to make it retreat quickly

is there a way to change the right click green movement arrow? I found the right click green movement arrow is annoying. Is too big. Is there a way?
