    My GF's Blue didn't need any training to be the best ski/Onehweel dog out there! That dude is firing on all cylinders all the time. When he was young I always tapped him with the ski poles and that gave him his safe space distance ( so yeah maybe a bit if training:)

    Cowboy rocks! Well done in training him. I’de love to see a video on how you work him around cows and or horses. Thanks

      I rarely have him around cows but I will try and get a vid of him around horses and occasionally sheep

    another great vid mate...my rescue dog Bella used to attack other mountain bikes on the trail next to our house..I used to take he to the car park where they start and just sit there, when she had a go at someones bike tyres I gave her a small correction on the Halti collar with a firm no! she now just moves over for bikes when they pass us on our walks

      nice! its a common thing I think. Just need to desensitize them like you did and show them the rules. Good on ya for taking the time to do it!

    Great cattle dog you got there. I just started taking my 15 month old blue heeler mountain biking. He loves it, gives him a workout, which they need. Third ACD, first boy, first one that doesn’t want to bite the tires or pedals so I can leash ride him till we get to my close by open space. Off leash 👍👍👍only way to go. Another great video.

    I have a five month old, Australian, cattle, dog, red heeler, that has a big brown spot on her back just like Cowboys! Anyways, I love watching you and cowboy going through the paces and it helps me understand that I need to be extremely patient with her. By the way, her name is Ruby Tuesday and I hope maybe she could be a utube influencer! Ha ha. I’m sure you hear that from all the red heeler bitches!😂❤

    Love Cowboy and you sharing with all of us. Stetson, Frenchie... different terrorist...I mean this in the most positive way. Hank, Cattle Dog, says **** yes to running, biking, creeks, dog beach. Love to Cowboy and Stetson. BTW, if cone is needed can be replaced by cutting hole in top of Cowboy hat. Now that you have Stetson, Frenchies eat everything like goats which is not entirely far off from cattle dogs. Love your videos. We play them on TV so Hank (cattle dog) and Dixie (Chessie) can watch.

    Awesome! Cowboy is such a good pup. We are working on rewarding calm walking around the bike (I actually trike), and correcting unacceptable behavior (biting tires). He gets overstimulated and drools/teeth chatter. I know he would love to be running his heart out! Appreciate you doing the vid for us! Happy trails.

    • @diydogguy
      @diydogguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      ahh the drool teeth chattering is a familiar thing lol. Sounds like you are on the right track though!

    Hey Jack. I've got a background in training (positive reinforcement only and 20+years ago) I've got basic training but have never been able to teach a good heel or recall. I watched your ecollar video which was great. Do you have any book recs or videos recs for working on heel and recall? Also any tips on a dog that wants to chase bikes (they make him nervous). We take Acle tot he bike trails and do positive reinforcement and he has improved but I need help bridging the gap to feel comfortable with him and bikes. Side note.....he does great riding on pavement with me on leash.

      Hey Katie! I do have an entire website full of recorded training videos actually over at cattledogacademy.com! Cowboy wanted to bite bike tires in the beginning but i nipped it on the bud pretty fast. Just have to communicate clearly that it is not allowed (positive reinforcement doesn't really do that as I am sure you are finding out).

    No training required they just do it.

    • @diydogguy
      @diydogguy  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'd say thats true for staying near you ( most of the time ) but a lot of dogs will bite tires if not trained. At least in my experience. But they do have natural instincts for shredding!

    • @xjkbbls
      @xjkbbls ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@diydogguy she is not good with cars but just naturally stayed an appropriate distance away from the bike while on trails in the woods.
