- My garage now has an opener!
Overall, not a bad time. The worst part was getting the button wire through the wall into the attic. And I did have it wired backwards... But I fixed it!
Now that this project is out of the way, its on to something new!

Tightening the chain took me forever too lol then I realized my chain was twisted and had to do everything backwards😂
You don't have to play with those limits on the side you use the manual control buttons on the back of the opener to set the limits
Negative, no such buttons exist on this unit. There are force adjustment screws on the rear but they serve a different safety related purpose. The upper and lower limits can only be controlled via the 2 screws on the side on this unit.

@@DustyDingus it must be super old then because there should on lift master be an up button a down button and a rectangle like button in the middle. Is on all the lift masters for at least the last 3 years
This is an old unit. But parts are still available so I replaced some drive parts and hung it.
Was originally hung in 2003?

I install for a living and this was painful to watch way to many added on steps and so much more confusing this should take no more than 15min including all your supposed to have the motor already built I’ve never in my life seen it installed in the air once the motor is built you raise the door up and use a c clap to lock in place then slide the motor on top to the bracket lock it in then begin to back hang the motor you only need one piece up tip left to right and 2 down not 2 up top into separate trusses just makes it harder then hold the motor 2-3 above the door and get you measurement from the ceiling then cut your back hanging ez
Y'know, this was a pain in the butt! and I had read around online first because this was the first time I have had to install a garage door opener. I went across 2 rafters because one didn't line up to do what you're saying. having an extra set of hands would have been a godsend.

Just on the edge of the board... Not under the drill. Medical plan is decent too 🙂
