This is a wonderful tutorial that shows the way how to install an garage door opener.
I just replaced all of my rollers. I found that just removing the rails on each side (4 bolts) allows you to replace 4 rollers at once and no damage to the track. The top roller is held by 2 bolts. Quick and easy.
I don't bend the track to uninstall rollers, just remove the carrier with a cordless impact. Easy and no damage to the rail.

Plastic/nylon wheels will wear quickly. Use steel wheels with occasional lubrication to the ball bearings; then keep the track clean.
btw the part about the door being balanced, it was correct the first time. If the door is about 6 in or so from the floor and it stays, it's balanced.
I highly suggest placing your vertical supports for the motor housing in a trapezoid, as in angle the arms out by 15 degrees. With straight vertical supports it will almost definitely induce swaying once a little bit of wear exhibits on those bolts. If your model doesn't allow for bending the connection points on the motor then adding some angled supports that span the two vertical supports will work also.

An additional maintenance step. Local door experts in may area recommend regular oiling (WD40) of the torsion spring. Reduces friction between coils which can lead to the spring breaking.
WD40 is not oil or lube of any kind.
@@skatecrazy1 Apologizes if the terminology isn't 100% correct. 2:08 Ron was talking about oiling and I used the same phrase.
The main goal is to reduce the chance rust will bind any of the torsion spring coils together which can lead to the spring breaking. There's many products that will achieve this and spraying is the easiest way to apply them. WD40 is what many have on hand.

Don’t know if you r answering comments. If have a garage that the door is 2 feet out from the front of the house. At the house portion a support beam comes from front of house through the garage keeping me from being able to take the chain pull unit all the way above the garage door any ideas?

Yes. The garage door opener is supposed to hold it down so nobody can just lift it up.
There's a release cord inside that you have to pull to operate the door manually.

Most do not. You'll have to buy what you need for your unique circumstances.

There are many door openers today that start off @ 135$ up I am getting a new door installed soon the door installer tells me it would be additional 600$ for the opener I told him I will add one later on which I will pick up a genie for 200$ save myself some money.

I'd imagine each brand is different on how to program the remotes. Wouldn't setting the limits/force be handled by the professional who came out to work on the spring?

Yup. They don't rate those steel rollers to last all that long, but if they are regularly lubed, they can last much longer than their rated service life. Those bearingless plastic really don't have anything to lube, although you could try silicone spray, but, in my experience, once moving plastic pieces wear through the hard finish on them, they never work smoothly again.

There's easier and simpler way of changing rollers without bend in the track and the dude forgot to I put oil on the Springs they looked a little dry and rusted
Adam Lough - can you go over that method? I gotta change my rollers and by looking at them, it seems I've got two choices: the easier and faster way of bending the track or the other way of removing each roller mount to get the wheel out. Each mount has 6 screws that are awkwardly installed so each screw will be a bitch. There's 10 wheels, 6 screws each, so 60 screws. I'm not doing that. So i was gonna bend the track. What's your better way?
1 Trillion Views yeah just take off the hinge take out the old roller and put in the new one. But if it's on the bottom where the bottom fixture are there is 5 different ways to do rollers

Just take the bracket off. It's one driver and 4 screws. Why bend the track like that? So unnecessary.
