Bought one and modified a revell 1:24 foxbody to fit it. Super scale little drift car. Even managed to use the led's in the model for headlights/brakelights
I got the 284161 off road buggy version of that chassis and I can say from experience that the tiny servo saver on there is more for looks than actually preserving the servo, at least on my unit. It was torqued down as far as it could go and had absolutely no give to it, I had to upgrade the servo with a metal geared one (after the stock one stripped in minutes) and chop about half of the servo saver spring off to make it actually functional. Maybe that wasn't the case with this one but just my experience.
I just got the 1/16th scale infraction looking one and I'm really impressed with how well it drives. It's super fast, comes with drift wheels and like touring wheels, comes with a gyro that does a great job keeping the car straight and for less than $70 you just can't beat it
@@TomleyRC I am surprised that you don't hear of micro rally car racing. Some years ago the the Losi rally cars were popular and the dreaded Traxxas company makes the LaTrax rally. Since tracks don't take up much room I think it would be more popular.
wow that thing looks pretty sick! I know this isn't exactly your thing, but it'd be interesting to be able to see how durable something like this is. Like a $65 little indoor RC car seems perfect to get for a young niece or nephew who Id like to get into RC cars, but if itll shatter as soon as they drive it full speed into a wall that might be a problem. I dont mean like Talbot style absurd "can it survive a 50 foot fall" durability testing, more just like, "if a 10 year old rams it into a wall will it survive?" sort of testing. I don't mean to sound entitled or tell you what to do so please dont even take this as a request, more like a small friendly suggestion from a fan. love the videos btw, youre definitely one of the best RC-tubers
Do you have any info/knowledge of the carisma gt24d drift version 1/24 scale? Any chance you'll be getting one to test n review? It looks really promising but there are literally no review videos of it.
hey mate there’s a new MN Model called the MN128, it is a 4 door Jeep Wrangler that uses the MN86’s chassis and the MN78’s receiver. It looks alright but I would rather wait till somebody reviews it before I think about it
I like the idea of the built in mobile phone holder but it's got to be useful and not useless like that. Hopefully they make that better Great little motor though.
Damn these k989s are addictive 😅 the people who made them arw very talented that's for sure, amazing little cars, and with all the aluminium upgrades they do they've sucked me in 😅only got a few more metal parts to upgrade then the chassis then it's finished :) going to see what mini electrics are about but in all honesty the stuff it comes with is brilliant and cannot fault it, 😎
They would be ideal for a group of friends on a homemade rally track with a few cold beers ...Im looking to buy some sheets of MDF board and build a track for this exact purpose... The '' boss '' has already said as long as we pack it away when not in use go for it ..hahah! Sound like a fair deal hey bro
Hey Tomley I watch your videos constantly, I have a question I just purchased a WL Toys 124017, to convert to a speed run car. Do you know what pitch the stock spur and pinion gear are, I want to order some different pinions for it for gearing options. Thank you for your time Rick
Would you know a compatible brushless motor with super high RPM? Man I really want one, such a nice body! I want it to go fast and crazy lol! I have the "infraction" version but using a custom 1968 plymouth GTX body on it, so i have to be careful driving it.
These little RCs are something I've got a thing for. The only thing I want is a nice little drift one with a front one way LSD and decent choice of bodies (not an EP3 on the internet it seems for any RC car). Have the infraction looking one (2 for testing purposes of upgrading them to mixed success), the Carisma GT24 i20 (boxed) but i should probably just buy the AWD Kyosho but they are old tech now and still mad expensive. Have another couple I havenn't seen on your channel and can't even remember what they were. I really should open those! Suggestion: Perhaps create a couple of leaderboards for Rally and road types or ones you like/had most fun with on the wall you can update as you go and new things come out. Just a thought but Im also a fulll sized no-one, so there's that!
There are many great drift chassis' on the small scale if you want to get into rwd drifting. Check out the DriftArt DA3, Atomic DRZ3, BM Racing BMRX Pro and XRX DPA to name a few. I have the WLToys mini Infraction that that I added a ball diff and front way with some drift tires and it's ok but once I tried rwd I was hooked. I currently have two DriftArts and a a DRZ3.
@@skree_fpv436 Its jsut for drfiting round my kitchen so AWD front one way, locked rear. good to go. Been subscribed to Beaver Hobby channel for 2 years and seen all the posh ones but im not prepared to drop 350 + on something I want to zoom round some tiles. MiniZ seems the best RTR as anything but they have spiked in price over nad above what was already a lot. Guess I need to sell my Hyper ST as having moved have no where to run it nor the inclination to fight getting it to go electric. preciate the comments, both.
@@djmandrick Beaver's channel is great. I followed his videos on the WLToys and did the mods on mine. He pretty much got me into the mini drifters. Another suggestion I have the GL Racing GLA. It's awd and is $179 usd. It comes with a servo and esc so all you need to provide is a motor and rx. You do have to build it though and I know some people may not want to especially with such small parts.
I just wanna know what camera setup you use to mount to the car. Very cool. I used to use a Polaroid cube camera, but that would be heavier than that car.
Like in the previous video, Carisma milked the damn old crap chassis and electronics damn well by attracting people with pretty bodies and advertised fast motor... in short they handle like crap....
For rally car, i would pick the charisma over this. That said i love the roof rail body protector. That truck at the end though... Hello ! (And not just because of the blue wheels, having seen the short you put out of the desert racer, certainly very interested !)
We need more cheap stuff like this that is actually good. I would say traxxas take notes (but i wont because their company deserves to die over what they did to the smaller companies just trying to help the community and traxxas' shitty stock vehicles.) cause their shit is 200 bucks for a traxxas teton truck. My first ever Rc car, and it kept breaking, over, and over, and over. I'm now a arma and axial fanboy (even tho i have a rgt, not my fault I'm poor lol).
I really want to get an outside rc. I have a few indoor drifters. Been looking at the arrma senton. Is it worth? I like the style and everything. I think the boost pack is 200 r2r. Worth it?❤
I understood in the vid that the steering is „really smooth“, but can you confirm these actually have a properly working steering without the horrible dead spot in the center, which made the previous versions totally useless (in my opinion at least) for anything else but drifting? I would not buy another WLTOYS with the stupid dead spot, but would consider another one, if the steering was continuous around the center. The remote itself is by the way one of the ugliest I have seen so far.
as a web/app tester for a global fast food brand a I thought that when I started. Web traffic for ordering online via app is currently (UK) 3.6 iOS to one Android.
