I love this music. It's so happy and uplifting. But this man doing it on a guitar is sheer perfection. My heart is happy again. Too much nasty stuff going on in the world then we get a talent like this man and Scott Joplin and everything is back to normal. Thank you ... you made my evening.
Hi Bob! I absolutely love this arrangement of Maple Leaf Rag. Many years ago I learned a different arrangement you did for Kicking Mule Records. The one I have did not include the second section as played here. In any case your arrangement for Fig Leaf Rag, Bethena and Maple Leaf have been with me since the late 70's. Thank you sir!
la più bella interpretazione di questo brano intramontabile: esecuzione perfetta, giusto il tempo, nessuna sbavatura, la chitarra praticamente un diapason ... bravissimo Bob!
Incredible performance ! Never heard Joplin's masterpiece Maple Leaf Rag on guitar before. You have set the barre, for how it should be performed ,Mr. Evans ( and it is quite high, lol)
I've been "improving" my "lap piano" arrangement since NIxon's presidency and see a few things I shall "borrow," thanks ever so much! (Imitation IS the sincerest of flattery!)
My first act as prime minister would be to make this the national anthem of Canada. It holds so much heart and whimsy in the melody, much like the people of Canada.
Just perfectly played. I can listen to this over and over and over again. The only thing that bothers me is the phrase between 1:14 and 1:16, it keeps reminding me of Super Mario. Dah Dah Dah da Dah Dah! Ha!
Amazing!! The best guitar rendition I've heard. Well done! I downloaded your lesson before lockdown and recently returned to it. I'm now determined to get it down.
For anyone who is following the lesson I realised that to improve the plucking flow throughout certain sections, you need to vary what fingers hit the string so that the same finger doesn't hit the same string twice in a row. I suppose this is quite obvious and finger numbers are even specified in one section of the sheet music, but not in others. Took me a while to realise this needs to be done throughout. The lesson is really good btw.
A dear friend of mine used to play this. Classically trained. He sustained an injury to the middle finger on his fretting hand, and the finger is crippled. He's going to try to get surgery. 50/50 chance. This song makes me sad now. A beautiful piece, beautifully played.
Omggggggg you're so amazing. I'm 17 years old and music is everything to me and Scott Joplin is my absolute favorite. I greatly appreciated your rendition. I was so moved. I was wondering if you did tutorials. I also play first and piano and various other instruments and I should love to play this on guitar. Overall I'm super grateful for the work you've done.
Ooh, memories of the Guild Folk Club 1975/76, I've still got some recordings I made back then, have to dig them out for old times sake - Nostalgia or what....
Excellent!! I'm certain you must know all the Saslow pieces. Have you heard Richard Ruskin? Please do I love his stuff but ever since I cut my fretting hand on a table saw I'm unable to tackle some of the stuff I love. Kuddah Duxx is a favorite
Someone should make a piano arrangement of this.
definetly :)
Haha!
HA HA!
Killer! LOL ;)
I can barely imagine it. Ragtime piano? Whatever next?
Bob's version just rolls along so perfectly, no hurry no worry.
Best version out there.
Yeah but I like the alternate accents with ragtime piano. That propels the song forward.
@@stuartwrigglesworth9339 I personally prefer this th-cam.com/video/MFeWbbaSJQc/w-d-xo.html but both are great.
That was beyond outstanding.
Some of the best acoustic playing I’ve ever heard

Beautifully said, thank you.
This made me so giddy that I began to giggle, terribly delightful!!!!
By very far my most favourite rendition of this classic on the guitar. Well done Bob, it's sounds so well rolling and catchy!
I love the casual sashay of this arrangement! Thank you.
As a guitar player, I can assure you, this ain't easy. Bob just made it sound that way....!
My favourite version of Maple Leaf Rag on acoustic guitar - so perfectly bouncing and swinging, such a clean tone ... you can't do it any better.
I must learn this. I am absolutely astonished.
A little bit of Gold. Bloody beautiful Bob, Thanks very much!
I love you for this 4 minutes. I hate you for the rest of my life wasted trying to play rag as good as you do.
Beautiful!!
Greetings from Spain.
Some very lively yet precise playing. Beautiful technique and great feel.
He does an incredible version of it in the spirit
Nice job Bob! I've been playing this on and off for decades.... thanks for the inspiration!
This made my day! I love it
Hey Bob! Thank you for your playing. Glad to have found your music! Have a nice day!

Wow, great to hear you again Bob. I remember when you first started this journey.
You look like you're having so much fun playing it! I can say that on the listening end it is a joy! So, much fun. So clean and rhythmic. Beautiful!
Great job
No words for it... Soooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh man, that’s some bouncy, swingy, syncopated goodness right there. Brilliant playing, and an excellent arrangement.
Joplin would be honored.
Thanks
A very nice arrangement for guitar. Expertly played. Thanks!
Beautiful version Bob. You nailed it. Thanks.
la più bella interpretazione di questo brano intramontabile: esecuzione perfetta, giusto il tempo, nessuna sbavatura, la chitarra praticamente un diapason ... bravissimo Bob!
That was beautifully done Bob. Bravo sir. 👏
A great old tune nicely rendered.
Incredible performance ! Never heard Joplin's masterpiece Maple Leaf Rag on guitar before. You have set the barre, for how it should be performed ,Mr. Evans ( and it is quite high, lol)
Most accurate version on you tube hands down! You win the internet!!
Lyrically beautiful! Just gorgeous.

A fine ragtime guitar pucker.

Great guitar transposition. Thank you, Sir.
Precise and clean....of a classic song....
Amen to that !!
Wonderful, Bob! Thanks.
0:54 this always been one of my favorite parts of any song
Great job,I had a friend in Tulsa that play this on guitar too.
My first act as prime minister would be to make this the national anthem of Canada. It holds so much heart and whimsy in the melody, much like the people of Canada.
Turns out Maple Leaf Rag doesn't have anything to do with Canada. It was a club called the Maple Leaf that Joplin used to play at in Missouri
This man respects the space between the notes, as well as the notes themselves. Nice .
Just perfectly played. I can listen to this over and over and over again. The only thing that bothers me is the phrase between 1:14 and 1:16, it keeps reminding me of Super Mario. Dah Dah Dah da Dah Dah! Ha!
Jeff Loewi fucking criiinge
Yeet Ball shut up nerd
Oh, it does sound a little like Mario music
@@cameltow8379 stfu ur literally subbed to Logan Paul gtfo
I mean, probably because a lot of Nintendo music is HEAVILY inspired by ragtime...
Fantastique !
Still getting it done! Way to go!
Very nicely done Bob!!

This is great stuff. Beautiful sound!

This is just absolutely amazing!
