    WCW Bash at the Beach 97 took place in Daytona Beach on July 13th 1997. The show as headlined with another WCW vs nWo battle when Lex Luger and The Giant took on Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman. This would serve as Rodman's in-ring debut.
    Elsewhere on the card, Diamond Dallas Page revealed his mystery partner for a tag team match against Scott Hall and Randy Savage. Chris Jericho defends his Cruiserweight Championship against Ultimo Dragon, The US title is up for grabs when former Horseman Jeff Jarrett defends against Steve McMichael, and "Nature Boy" Ric Flair battles "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in the semi-main spot. Raven also breaks his silence at Bash at the Beach, though his promo is still very vague.

    When Dennis arm dragged Lex, My dad was legit pissed. Never saw my dad angry, when I was a child, but that was one of those times. My mom was no better. • @BlueMageWithSoulEdge
      @BlueMageWithSoulEdge 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@henrikschmidt3964 I thank GOD that I was born in Tennessee.
      The best thing is that my parents knew it was a show and treated as such, and I think that is the big difference between people that like wrestling and those that don't.
      I have an adult friend that gave me the "it not real" line, but he his self only found out late in his life. And after "confirming" with him that's it's "not real", he became a casual fan.
      I truly think the "it's not real" is a cooping mechanism for not being sure if it is real, or isn't sure on how much of it is real.
      In short it's an example of skepticism ruining a fun time.
      I hope you found a place that will enjoy the Muscle Theater with you.

      Yeah as a kid I never noticed how it always ended with someone interfering , I mean I did but I just thought because they were like a gang that they were protecting themselves, but now I realize it’s because they couldn’t do business, I mean scott hall and syxxx could and some times Nash, but hogan seems to always be protecting him self

      @@foxholiday4308 Hogan had his own protection in his contract and that ruined the story
      I'm nearly 50 years old and looking back at all this makes me realise how much alot of us missed love this channel I do hope wrestling bios celebrate 100 episodes of reliving the war when we get there not many weeks to go till we do

      I love the channel, cause I get to relive so many childhood memories...Which is the best part...But I realized the NWO Hogan is probably the weaker side of Hogan as a wrestler not that I was ever a big fan... I was more of an Attitude Era fan...But this era shows Hogan more as an entertainer and not really a wrestler...

    I will forever believe that Hennig was massively misused in both WCW and WWF. Should have held the heavyweight belt at some point. Shame he never did.

    I don't think fans ever saw Curt Hennig as the superstar that the powers-that-were would have liked. He didn't get over with his babyface run in WWF and people really didn't care too much. He showed flashes of brilliance at times but after his surgery he was never that top-level performer again.

    I want to say this was one of the first WCW PPVs I ever watched in this era when it happened...and I was presently surprised. I actually enjoyed each of these matches except for the DDP/Perfect vs Hall/Savage bout. I initially getting Survivor Series'92 vibes as I thought Perfect was going to tease a walk-out on DDP...but Nope, he Full-On Rick Martels Dallas.
