Famous quotes that sum up each type! Let us know which ones you think suit better! (The type of the people who said the quote isn’t supposed to match the type i think the quote describes!)
I think this quote of Russell Brand pretty much encapsulates the ENFP'S unwavering optimism and life enthusiasm, “For me happiness occurs arbitrarily: a moment of eye contact on a bus, where all at once you fall in love; or a frozen second in a park where it's enough that there are trees in the world.” ― Russell Brand
@Gertrude Keenan Einstein may have been gifted, but it wasn't in mathmatics, since he failed it in high school. If he were gifted at it, he would've breezed through it like Carl Gauss. Whether he believed it or not is irrelevant, it is true in almost any respect, including mathematics or sports, etc.
@@wildchicken679 I feel you, the same thing happens to me. I've asked myself that question multiple times, but I never succeed to find a single answer. The two things I like the most are like the two opposite ends of a spectrum. I think that it's an INxP problem in general.
„The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one.“ I love that one.
"An apple a day, keeps the need of leaving the house to see a doctor away, but if you'd eat an apple everyday that would mean you'd have to leave the house to go to the store but that is still probably the lesser evil than seeing a doctor" - Me, INxP
Some INFP quotes that resonate with me: - "Normality is a paved road: It's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow" (Vincent van Gogh) - "It is both a blessing and a curse to feel everything so deeply" - "I don't know what it's like not to have deep emotions, even when I feel nothing, I feel it completely" - "Don't you feel lonely living in your own world?" "Don't you feel powerless living in other people's worlds?" - "She had this weird habit of being herself all the time" - "Whatever you do, do it for you" -"I've been dreaming since I woke up today" (don't know the other authors)
(INTJ) Great quotes! I especially love the ones from van Gogh. My fav are: "I put my heart and soul into my work and I have lost my mind in the process." "I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day."
@@maven5653 Oh yeah the one about puting your heart and soul and losing your mind, so true. If I can't put my heart into smth why even do it, that's why mundane tasks tend to go on my nerves, or I waste too much time making smth "perfect"
“If I am not for myself, who will be for me? But if I am only for myself, who am I?” Hillel. As an INFJ, this dichotomy hits close to home and sometimes can seem like trying to find the unifying equation of Newtonian and quantum physics.
And also "I'm not sure that i exist, actually. I'm all the writers that i have read. All the people that i have met. All the women that i have loved. All the cities i have visited." ~George Luis Borges
@@seventhsheaven I understand you're essentially saying the same thing. My distinction was to avoid the deprecating sentiment of downplaying our individuality. Instead, reinforcing our self image, stating we should be proud of the aspects that make us special, yet reminding us that we all rely on each other, so as to prevent our pride from inflating our ego to a harmful level.
Most of the people are average and not special. Only a few. But this type of thinking makes most of them satisfied with them selves and blind them from the truth. And the truth is- as far as i'm aware of- you need to consider that you are common, and not special. Therefore, you will start improving.
My favourite quote is: "If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?" By Aleksandr Solhenitzyn. I guess i am kind of ENTP
Wow, good one. But I would've pointed him to this text. Matthew 13:24-31 The Parable of the Weeds; 24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. 27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ 28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’” Luckily it's not up to Us but vengeance is His, sincerely INFJ ;)

@@yvonnecampbell7036 It's a decent example, but not a great quote. Quotes are for distilling an idea down to its vital components, parables are for conveying an idea through the power of a story. I do find comfort in that God will be the perfect final judge, and that no evil will escape his jurisdiction. -INTP
William James was an INFJ, so I think that quote is more fitting for the type, but I would’ve chosen this for INFJs: “As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being.” -Carl Jung
Yep, we have to be the best example we can be and others will follow. If everyone on this planet had this mindset....what a world this would be. For me, my example is Jehoshua and I try to be as "holy" as I can be.
INTJ- not being able to care less about humanity "Whatever floats your boat." then goes on to do whatever they set out to do at that time not caring for your feelings on the matter.
This one hurts my heart as an Enfp because it's so true for me "I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it's like to feel absolutely worthless and they don't want anyone else to feel like that." -Robin Williams (the legend)
Love this quote. I'm considered loquacious and tangential. Yes, I'm weird. Not odd, just nutty. Ironically my nickname in high school was Tripper by my druggie mates; they said I was nuts on nothing. :)
I think that the INTJ one is accurate because I (an intj) am of the view that we are our own driving force and one cannot be stopped by anyone if he firmly sets his mind on a goal. This is a quote of Elaine Maxwell : "Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force. "
MINIPRO27 Nice, though my absolute favorite is this quote by David Viscott: *"The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away."* Pretty succinct, imho.
MINIPRO27 I dont want to be that guy, but reversing the words of a phrase does not make it meaningful which is why after reading this there is no specific action that you want to carry or lesson that comes from it.
To see a World in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour -William Blake Feels very INFP to me
All for INFP "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." -Hellen Keller "Beneath this mask there is more than flesh, Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof" -V, V for Vendetta “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” -Eleanor Roosevelt "If you have an idea, that you think is genuinely good, don't let some idiot talk you out of it" -Stan Lee Lastly mine which is "There is nothing bad to get lost in your dreams once in a while, because as with Light cannot exist without Darkness, some realistic things aren't made without a few dash of dreams in them"
An extension of the INTP quote by my favoitite author E.Yudkowsky, who nicely integrated a litany of Tarsky to it in the end: *P.C. Hodgell said - That which can be destroyed by the truth should be. Do not flinch from experiences that might destroy your beliefs. The thought you cannot think controls you more than thoughts you speak aloud. Submit yourself to ordeals and test yourself in fire. Relinquish the emotion which rests upon a mistaken belief, and seek to feel fully that emotion which fits the facts. If the iron approaches your face, and you believe it is hot, and it is cool, the Way opposes your fear. If the iron approaches your face, and you believe it is cool, and it is hot, the Way opposes your calm. Evaluate your beliefs first and then arrive at your emotions. Let yourself say - If the iron is hot, I desire to believe it is hot, and if it is cool, I desire to believe it is cool.*
The INFJ one really sums up my social life as an INFJ. Being like this is great in some ways and really bad in others. The results are that I'm socially competent, I know how to talk to people, I've talked to a bunch of different types of people and know how to mold myself into fitting in with any group, and because of my experience with all this I'm really good at instinctively understanding what type of person someone is. The bad part is that I know how much "power", in lack of a better word, you hold in your hands by knowing so much about others and that, as well as some other life experiences, has led me to from when I was a child not want to share my inner deepest self. So I didn't, and now I feel as if no one really is close to me. I'm close to others, I love them, I want to support them and I want to make them happy, but I don't really let others come that close to me to really properly know how to do that for me. I do however give them the illusion that they do, and to some extent they do of course, but honestly basically everything they know is because I've thought about it and actively decided I want to share that particular thing with them. It's not something that happens naturally and without a proper think through. I'm 25 now and I've started trying to change this and take more chances on people already in my life, and so far the results are good. With age I've also stopped seeing it as a goal to fit into as many groups as possible and I don't try to fit into groups of people I don't feel comfortable and genuinely happy around (I never tried to fit into groups I disliked, but there were a lot of "in between" groups that I did try to fin in with).
Yeah I can feel it and used to think like it too for sometimes. But there were numerous situations where I've confided in people and never regretted it. I'm lucky to have some friends so close that we can talk just by looking at each other and know exactly what's going on in your head. I'm an ENFJ by the way. So probably trusting someone and letting them know how you feel will help you get connected to your friends in a deeper way.
I know that feeling. You’re not alone. I remember in high school having 4 or 5 completely different groups of friends and being somewhat a leader in all of them but the groups would be horrified of the other. For example I was in a punk rock band, I hung out with the gangmembers in my neighborhood and was a leader in the church as well. I remember having to tell white lies to each group when leaving one to go to another. It was fun at the time cause I was thinking “I’m so cool and complex and get to have so many experiences.” But now it’s like, who was I really lol.
Damn you just described my entire life. Crazy. Sometimes I give them informations but then I regret it and fear I was wrong because it's like giving them ammunition. It's crazy cause I know I don't have to fear anything since it generally takes years for me to tell them but still...
@@frevi3936 he’s definitely an infp. If you watch interviews of him you can see that he’s one of the most stereotypical INFPs. Also I believe that he was an infp in a Fi-Si loop which lead him to his horrible ending.
“An error does not become truth by reason of multiplied propagation, nor does truth become error because nobody sees it. Truth stands, even if there be no public support. It is self sustained.” -Mahatma Gandhi. As an INTP, I love this quote
Rithrius in science, a theory is different than the word we use daily, i believe. It means an idea that has not been falsified (is that a word?). So like, it’s not just a complicated guess. But I do agree with the last part. I always question, what even is the truth? Even though I believe in science, I don’t believe it is the medium that could give all the answers. Anyway, sorry for the rant, just wanted to comment.
INFP: A day after new year I’ve decided to write down a plan for the new year which I never did before. After the second line I felt exhausted I teared up the page and thought “that’s not for me” lol
Love Who Planning gives one the illusion that they have control over their life. I’ve just was asked. At what time are you going to withdraw the money on Tuesday. I said: today is Sunday. I really don’t understand people who make plans. How do they live.
I try doing that it only lasted one day because honestly I just handle things as they come because nothing really ever goes the way you plan I mean I don’t really don’t have control on where life will lead me it just happens.
"That bird over there is just as beautiful as any person." (me, ISFP) Silence (thinking, thinking) "Ah, never mind." (husband, INFP) "Is there scientific evidence for that? (sister, INTJ)
When you say purpose it sounds a lot like destiny like it's already set there is no purpose in life only goals if you wanna reach those goals that's all up to you
I'd say xxxP for that quote. ENTPs and us INTPs might debate actual politics and stuff like that for the sake of the debate/to reach some truth, but if we're talking "workplace politics" and intrigues and power games then we're generally not as interested as xxxJs.
Do nothing which is of no use. - Miyamoto Musashi As an ISTP this quote is simple yet makes so much sense for anyone on the journey of self development.
@Tachanka “no one cares” is the most invalid response ever. His opinion/argument doesn’t depend upon how many people care. Im ISTP aswell. Btw do you play R6?
Adeey I’m an INFP and I would agree it were: If you ONLY understand something with your heart, you don’t understand it”. I think there is value in understanding something with your head and your heart. But I would agree that if you only understand it with your heart then you don’t truly understand it. So I agree and disagree.
For INFP: “I’ll come when it suits me.” “You must go on a long journey before you find out how wonderful home is.” “I just may set off in another direction entirely” “The main thing in life, is to know your own mind.” -Tove Jansson
"Stay curious." -INTJ This resonates with me as an INTJ, since my Ni will absorb knowledge like a sponge, though it could probably work for INTPs as well
The INTJ one is obviously true. I have to say, the introduction confuses me. Like people in general. In real life I'm considered "weird", "cold", "arrogant" and not ladylike at all, but when MBTI is mentioned suddenly I'm everyone's favourite, shadowy mastermind lol
As an INFP I have lived by, and have used that Line of John Lennon's from 'Beautiful Boy' ever since it resonated with me on hearing it when I was around 10 years old. The next most common phrase I say to people when they tell me, "that's not the way to BE or DO something" is, "There are no rules to life". I think I may have coined that myself? I've never heard anyone else say it. Another common phrase I tried to live by is, "Less is more".
I actually love the quote you picked for INTP, but a few other favorites of mine I find relevant are: "Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato "It's not what you don't know that gets you into trouble; it's what you know for certain that just ain't so." -- commonly attributed to Mark Twain, but some research will reveal the history of this quote is a bit more ambiguous and complicated than can easily be explained in one sentence. "We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak." -- Epictetus (really _any_ Epictetus quote would work here... I had trouble choosing just one) "What we know is a drop, what we don’t know is an ocean." -- Sir Isaac Newton "I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me." -- also Isaac Newton In the spirit of humility and avoiding the pitfalls implied by Dunning--Kruger effect, both of which I feel are inspired by those last two quotes, if I may gush for a minute, can we just take a moment to acknowledge how remarkably humble Isaac Newton was? (at least in writing!) Further examples of his humility abound: "If I have ever made any valuable discoveries, it has been owing more to patient attention, than to any other talent." "If I am anything, which I highly doubt, I have made myself so by hard work." "If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants." I have heard Newton pegged as INTJ before. I can see the Ni... and maybe a smidge of Te-style respect. But I relate so hardcore to his ostensible Ti... I would have been prepared to argue INTP... After reading more quotes from him that seem suspiciously Fe-heavy* I started to wonder if he might have been not only very not-INTJ but maybe even INFJ. His sense of spirituality coexisting with his reverence for scientific truth actually seems somehow more plausible for an INFJ too, on cursory consideration. *Fe-heavy quotes: -"Tact is the knack of making a point without making an enemy."- < Did my own fact-checking and it turns out this quote has been falsely attributed to Isaac Newton and is more likely from advertising executive Howard W. Newton (see "Mark Twain" quote above... LOL) -"We build too many walls and not enough bridges."- < Yet another quote attributed to the wrong Newton. This one is actually from one Joseph Fort Newton, an American Baptist minister. Sooo, as it turns out, all the Fe-heavy quotes attributed to Newton in various pages online were misattributed. I change my vote back to INTx. And, consequently, this is how I bring a comment that has gone off the rails, digressing from INTP quotes to typing a dead famous person, back on track and on topic. Because this mess ^ above is a perfect example of the INTP mind at work, and how they can be of value to society. The logical consistency geiger counter is clicking away until it detects a few disturbances... Hmm, interesting... Fe-seismometer has recorded a few peaks in Fe that are not consistent with predicted activity along fault lines... Note possible explanations. Must explore and investigate. Aha. Error detected. Confirm error. Yup. And it appears the error has been duplicated across multiple sources, creating the illusion of consensus. Must correct errors. Not true; scrap it. Not true; scrap it. Interesting... Now that all erroneous entries have been ommitted, available data is once again logically consistent with previous hypothesis. Revert back to previous hypothesis. Ti successfully eliminated superfluous Ne theories. More research required to arrive at ultimate truth. To be continued... Long story short, INTPs make great bullshit-detectors. They can just tell when something is amiss (usually from conflicting "facts," contradictory statements, or incongruent behaviors). It may be annoying how they can tell you 10 things that are wrong before they think to acknowledge 1 thing that is right, but when you really _need_ to know the _truth,_ you want an INTP in your corner. They will fact-check everything, work out what does and doesn't make sense (regardless of what the "experts" say), and fix all the mistakes you didn't even know existed... if you let them. _(pssst... let them)_
@@murasaki1417 Considering the length, probably 10 minutes, with like 5 of those confirming quote accuracy and attribution. If an INTP has a long comment about a pet topic with no (edited), it likely took fewer minutes than a shorter comment.
@@jamersbazuka8055 can confirm, i've written basically short essays on the optimal shape of skyscrapers, synapses of the plots of various movies and games, explainations of the cognitive functions of mbti and so much more all in the youtube comments in just a few minutes tapping the screen of my phone with the fervor of a mad scientist.
Nice quote for INFP! it's also matched with the quote that I liked from my lecturer: "If you cannot be the best, be the first". now we just need a bit of support so all INFPs can achieve the plan to be first of anything... and enjoy our life 😁😁
Why is it that when I listen about people talking about other types I always say “that sounds a little like me” but when I hear about the INFP I think “I’m not a wondered per say I’m just someone who wants to experience life in a different way all the time” maybe it because I’m a INFP Edit: ops never mind I’m an ISFJ :/
Great upload. Mine is "gratitude is the sign of noble souls". If anyone wants to be wise, gratitude is a great starting point. Seek wisdom more than gold. With gratitude you'll rarely be lonely, envious, depressed, angry but you'll be at peace. My 2c worth :)
The quote correlated with ENTP made me choke on my coffee. I haven't heard it before; however, in rather non-eloquent manner, I express to my clients the same sentiment. I've observed that few find the same sense of solace and comfort in this as I do.
@@珍珠奶茶 I believe myself to be INTJ and i also perceive the saying as something to keep the ego in check. I think being wrong about even one person even one time should be enough to keep in mind that the depth of other people is unfathomable and i shouldn't forget to never underestimate it. People are complicated and deep, even when they aren't aware of it themselves. It's just how brains work. Each one an inconceivable piece of art, of which you can ever only see the broad strokes. Other than the self, of course, the information on the self is more easily reachable. And thus the uniqueness of the self will always seem greater than that of the others.
As an INTP, I loved the INTP quote before you revealed that it was the INTP quote. And it truly boggles my mind that there are people in the world who don’t agree with it.
#INTJ "I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library." Jane Austen "There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well. The more I see of the world, the more am I dissatisfied with it; and every day confirms my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearance of merit or sense." Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice "Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard, solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think." - Martin Luther King Jr
My favourite quote as an INFJ is: 'I make images, because they make us.' Pretty much sums up my own life, both professionally and personally. I wish to influence others by example: show them all the beauty and possibilities in life and show them what they could be.
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter" although i'm an estp, i find infj and intj's quotes always so inspiring! also for intps and enfjs, charming and intelligent❤️ this is an infj quote btw ;)
im constantly doubting whether im an infp or not, but all of my research and analyses of the functions leads me to that conclusion. the quote you used for them/us is rather lovely regardless. "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans." either way, I really resonate with and love the INTP quote you used above all others: "That which can be destroyed by the truth should be." honestly, that's definitely an idea i hold in high value and want to strive for. the pursuit of truth... that seems like an inherently righteous ideal, doesn't it?
yea. I got one, made it up myself. "Knowing all means only nothing and if you knew what it meant, than it defeats the purpose" In the grand scheme. INFJs like abstract concepts, things that are unsure, ask an INFJ girl and they can't tell you what they want in a guy, and if they do, its contradictory. while every type needs to figure out who they are, INFJs need to satisfy themselves, with the fact, that no one will know them, and maybe they shouldnt, that's what makes it interesting
@Just Chill She believed the sick must suffer. For a belief in a God, she herself even doubted existed. If you were sick and poor in India, the worst place you could get to was under her 'care'. Quote from Hitchens:[Mother Teresa] was not a friend of the poor. She was a friend of poverty. She said that suffering was a gift from God. She spent her life opposing the only known cure for poverty, which is the empowerment of women and the emancipation of them from a livestock version of compulsory reproduction." The Church made her a saint. (But what would you expect from an organisation that is a safe haven for child abusers and pedophiles?)
I’m an ISTP and I love that quote by General Patton. “ A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.” If it wasn’t for ESTP realists like Patton and Winston Churchill we wouldn’t have defeated The Axis powers as easily as we have in WW2. ESTP is one of my absolute favorite types. They have the confidence , courage and the ability to express what I am thinking at the moment like at meetings or social situations. I’m too careful not to express my opinion.
I am istp and I love estp's for the same reasons. They are my best friends and i am their mysterious but trustworthy friend. They are the only ones i can really trust for real.
@ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ yeah, it's weird, people always associate them with the dumb american football team's captain in high school movies, but guess what, excluding the various head injuries received because of relentless microtraumas, the football team's captain is in reality a smart guy, since he needs to calculate the parabolas of the throws and distances of his squadmates and his rivals all in a second and elaborate all the information into the best possible action for that moment of play with the Ti and execute it perfectly with Se. Same concept obviously applies to other things that aren't american football. The issue is more that, like that esfp quote also said, they may not be the most academic type and prefer more real life situations.
"The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can't be any large scale revolution until there's a personal revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first." - Jim Morrison
Hi Nathan! INTJ here, I wrote down that quote, thank you! Describing INTJs like that is very accurate but hearing it I might have a topic for you, well, at least I have a topic I ponder about a lot. I am a very damaged INTJ with many many issues which comes from childhood stuff... I always say that my brilliant and creative mind is in a cage of an emotional baggage that was created by childhood traumas. Because of that I have an eternal fight inside of me from two sides: my brain telling me that I'm amazing and I can do anything and my heart telling me that my past experiences suggest otherwise (I'm actually thinking about writing about this). And I know that other types have a tendency for this kind of struggle too. I know you have videos in this kind of topic already but it would be great to maybe dig into it deeper. Thank you for the great content anyway!
Infp : the plan is going on a road which you dont know how long it or what dangers lie ahead but it is seldom travelled and those who had travelled tell amazing stories
"When we're growing up, there are all sorts of people telling us what to do when really what we need is space to work out who to be." - Ellen Page, ISTP
The things I find myself saying everyday are: "If you want it done right, do it yourself" "Who cares" and "So annoying" -INTJ Sorry ,don't have any fancy, original quotes.
I find myself saying the first two often and thinking the third one. I learned very young that when you usually say "so annoying" out loud then there is going to be someone who will either take humor or offence to that and bug you some more.
INTP: “Among other things, you'll find that you're not the first person who was ever confused and frightened and even sickened by human behavior. You're by no means alone on that score, you'll be excited and stimulated to know. Many, many men have been just as troubled morally and spiritually as you are right now. Happily, some of them kept records of their troubles. You'll learn from them-if you want to. Just as someday, if you have something to offer, someone will learn something from you. It's a beautiful reciprocal arrangement. And it isn't education. It's history. It's poetry.” - J.D. Salinger.
“- What of Art?” - It is a malady. - Love? - An Illusion. - Religion? - The fashionable substitute for Belief. - You are a sceptic. - Never! Scepticism is the beginning of Faith. - What are you? - To define is to limit.” - The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde
I don't really have a quote that would describe me (an ISFJ) but i do have a quote that i enjoy a lot, its from warhammer 40k: "We are judged in life for the evil we destroy. It is a bleak truth that there is nothing but blood awaiting us in the spaces between the stars, but the emperor sees all that transpires in his domain and we are judged equally for the illumination we bring to the blackest nights. We are judged in life for those moments we spill light into the darkest reaches of his imperium" - Merek Grimaldus, End Of The Helsreach Crusade
It is a bad plan that admits of no modification (Publilius Cyrus). As an INTP, I like to stay open to changes when a new problem shows up. After all, we're machines that can fail without anyone noticing it. Knowing that fact beforehand can be quite helpful when readapting and thinking of a new and better plan!
This was beautiful. I really loved your ISFJ quote and what you said about them. It is so true, and something I often need to remember myself. A quote I read recently really resonated with me as an INTJ: "My maxim is always this: consider every step carefully in advance, but then, if you believe you can take responsibility for it, let nothing stop you." - Max Planck (The quote you chose was good too!)
@@NathanJGlass, it does! I was thinking even a higher functioning ISTJ (despite the love of rules/laws stereotype... one who is above average intelligence or self-actualized) or maybe an extrovert, as Tacitus was an orator and senator. But, the quote is deep for an extrovert, so... Definitely sounds T, and I was thinking J, as well. That's as far as I got thati felt fairly certain about. Then, I even started wondering about INFP and just gave up. (I'm an INFP)
I agree, it's very INTJ. Unfortunately many INTJs fail to realize how many such "objective" overarching Ni-Te conclusions they reach are formed not only from a dearth of Se data, but are influenced by their individual Fi values and preferences, which inform their individual biases, which unwitingly influence Te. Just yesterday I got into a debate with an INTJ who has a similar view and was complaining about the FDA vaping ban after I sent him links to a few articles. He didn't even read the articles (or at least didn't seem to) but went off on some conspiracy theory about intentional contamination with glucans to result in a ban, but his theory was just wrong and unsoundly reasoned in many ways. It's obvious to me why he thinks the way he does (it's fucking with his Fi and cognitive dissonance resulting from Fi values being contradicted by Ti/Fe or Te coupled with paranoia over intentions results in assumptions about "bad" intentions as part of an alternative explanation to alleviate internal conflict). But he doesn't realize. Just an example. I have super interesting conversations with INTJs but I usually end up correcting their assumptions/overgeneralizations and taking issue with their projected value judgements. It really makes me wonder about compatibility theories that contend Ti attracts Te, Fi attracts Fe, etc.

If the iron approaches your face, and you believe it is cool, and it is hot, the Way opposes your calm. Evaluate your beliefs first and then arrive at your emotions. Thats a great quote to live by.
Thats a great quote to live by.
That one's going in my quote list. Thanks
Love this! ~ Nathan

Both of those are great ~ Nathan
I actually love the quote you picked for INTP, but a few other favorites of mine I find relevant are:
"Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something."
-- Plato
"It's not what you don't know that gets you into trouble; it's what you know for certain that just ain't so."
-- commonly attributed to Mark Twain, but some research will reveal the history of this quote is a bit more ambiguous and complicated than can easily be explained in one sentence.
"We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak."
-- Epictetus (really _any_ Epictetus quote would work here... I had trouble choosing just one)
"What we know is a drop, what we don’t know is an ocean."
-- Sir Isaac Newton
"I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."
-- also Isaac Newton
In the spirit of humility and avoiding the pitfalls implied by Dunning--Kruger effect, both of which I feel are inspired by those last two quotes, if I may gush for a minute, can we just take a moment to acknowledge how remarkably humble Isaac Newton was? (at least in writing!)
Further examples of his humility abound:
"If I have ever made any valuable discoveries, it has been owing more to patient attention, than to any other talent."
"If I am anything, which I highly doubt, I have made myself so by hard work."
"If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants."
I have heard Newton pegged as INTJ before.
*Fe-heavy quotes:
-"Tact is the knack of making a point without making an enemy."- < Did my own fact-checking and it turns out this quote has been falsely attributed to Isaac Newton and is more likely from advertising executive Howard W. Newton (see "Mark Twain" quote above... LOL)
-"We build too many walls and not enough bridges."- < Yet another quote attributed to the wrong Newton.
_(pssst... let them)_

And thus the uniqueness of the self will always seem greater than that of the others.

either way, I really resonate with and love the INTP quote you used above all others: "That which can be destroyed by the truth should be." honestly, that's definitely an idea i hold in high value and want to strive for. the pursuit of truth... that seems like an inherently righteous ideal, doesn't it?
yea. I got one, made it up myself.
"Knowing all means only nothing and if you knew what it meant, than it defeats the purpose"
In the grand scheme. INFJs like abstract concepts, things that are unsure, ask an INFJ girl and they can't tell you what they want in a guy, and if they do, its contradictory.
while every type needs to figure out who they are, INFJs need to satisfy themselves, with the fact, that no one will know them, and maybe they shouldnt,

You should read Christopher Hitchens' book about Mother Teresa.
You will be even more happy that you are nothing like her.
@Just Chill I'd say she was a sadistic narcissist and maybe a sociopath. Satan's bride.
@Just Chill Truth hurts, I guess. A monster like her shouldn't be put on a pedestal.
She spent her life opposing the only known cure for poverty, which is the empowerment of women and the emancipation of them from a livestock version of compulsory reproduction."
The Church made her a saint.
