    I started a Keto diet over a year ago and I've lost over a 130 pounds and I'm so happy to have found you now, since following you and implementing your nutrient timing I do feel even better. As for your smoothie recipe I like to keep my sugar intake lower, so I made it with blueberries and I used frozen avocados for a thickener and good fats plus the nutrients that you would get from a banana. Keep making your great videos.

      I just cut them up and put them in a container or split them into a freezer bag, but I have read that you can put them on a tray and freeze them and then you put them in a container.

    The fibrous husk of flaxseeds can’t get broken down by hydrochloric acid, so you will just poop them out and miss out on nutrition. Make sure you grind them a bit prior to ingestion!

    • @rubynugent2131
      @rubynugent2131 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So true. We should always buy ground flaxseed or grind it ourselves before we put them in our food. If not, we don’t get any nutrients from them. I’m sorry, this is something she should know if she is a registered dietician.

    What are your thoughts on soaking Chia seeds before putting them in the smoothie? Do you think that’s necessary?

    • @AutumnBates
      @AutumnBates  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the strength of your blender. If you have a high powered blender that can thoroughly grind the chia seeds, then you shouldn't need to soak it prior (unless your GI tract doesn't respond well to un-soaked chia seeds). Otherwise, you can either soak the chia seeds OR grind them in a coffee grinder before adding to your smoothie.

    I noticed that your flaxseeds don’t appear to have been ground up. I’ve read several articles that state if you don’t grind up the flaxseeds before using them, the seeds will not break down and will not be of any benefit to you. I grind my flaxseeds and store in the freezer until I need them to put in a smoothie or on my oatmeal. Thank you for your very informative videos.

    This was a delicious smoothie but next time I’ll omit the peanut butter. Is it absolutely necessary to add it for fats? Just wondering bc I’d rather add coconut oil or a diff kind of fat. The peanut butter just ruins the taste for me a bit and I LOVE peanut butter. Just doesn’t go with the other ingredients.

    Hi Autumn, thanks for the info. I’m curious why there aren’t more “green” smoothies on your recipe list? Please get back to me - thanks!

    Just came across your smoothie video...love it. One question, since I hate bananas how do I use cauliflower?

    Hi Autumn. Love the information you're sharing with us. Do you have any videos that outline what a typical day of food looks like with IF? I'm finding it difficult to know how much I should eat.

    What is the total calorie count of the smoothie?

    Beautiful smoothie video. Going to get ingredients in a couple of days. So hard to get my 100 grams of protein per day, so a smoothie will help me reach that goal. Been walking 15,000 to 20,000 steps a day. Going into week 4 on this.💞💞🙃💞💞

    Have you looked into Redmond Real Salt? Its from Utah, its unrefined.

    Hi , can you please clarify flax seeds ?
    I read somewhere that it needs to be ground in order to benefit from its nutrients.

      Yes, they are ground in the blender, when you make the smoothie.
      If you do not grind then, you still benefit from the soluble fibre, which is on the outside, but not from the contents inside the shell.

    If you use protein powder in this, would you leave out the hemp seed? or could you use both?

    I tried this this morning and loved it! Since I am at work when I break my fast most days (12pm) can I make this ahead of time and keep it in my office fridge? Or will it lose some of the potency of the nutrients? I typically only get to have my smoothies on the weekend when I am at home

      A ton of the AENpeeps pre-make their smoothies and store in the fridge at their work (even my boyfriend does this!). This is a great way to ensure that you have something that will work for your goals while also being a simple/fast meal to prep!

    Can you soak flax seeds? I hate how hard they are even though I bought them finely ground.

    My mom gifted me a Vitamix. I can't believe the difference in final result! If I choose to use 3 parts water and 1 part coconut milk is that better because it's less cals or no because I'm missing fat? I don't do keto but I do IF and am very mindful of sugar.

    I’m allergic to bananas 😩 do I still use the same amount of cauliflower rice? What are some other alternatives for a thickener?

      Kennedy D use about a cup of frozen mango or frozen cauliflower to substitute one banana!
