A square yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, in the city of Bikini Bottom on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. He works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. During his time off, SpongeBob has a knack for attracting trouble with his starfish best friend, Patrick. Arrogant octopus Squidward Tentacles, SpongeBob's neighbor, dislikes SpongeBob because of his childlike behavior.

Rock Bottom has a lot of strange species that can only be found in the deepest depths of the ocean. This is one of the episodes that truly showed Stephen’s love of marine biology

Yes! The episode is extra funny when you realize that a lot of the strangest sea creatures do in act live in the depths of the ocean.

Patrick getting lassoed and yanked without mercy, screaming Spongebob's name, and blowing up in a big explosion was just legendary
When I was little me and my sister were watching this scene. I asked her what Sandy did to him and the best answer she could come up with was “hurt him really badly”
It really is one of the best moments in the shows history lol

Fun Fact: That deep voice during Sandy’s song in the Texas episode is actually the voice of Country singer Junior Brown.
The “MY LEG!!!” Is basically Spongebob’s version of the Wilhelm Scream.
The Wilhelm Scream is actually used in the "Sportz?" episode in Season 10.
Rock Bottom is underutilized in the 23 year totality of SpongeBob.
I remember hearing somewhere that the bus driver the dropped SpongeBob and Patrick in Rock Bottom called the other bus drivers and told them not to let SpongeBob on, which honestly makes sense when you think about it

Rock Bottom is definitely a real episode if you ever find yourself in a strange & unfamiliar part of town. They really emphasize this with another language (the raspberries) and that Patrick can’t even tell the bathrooms apart

You kinda feel bad for SpongeBob during the whole "Rock Bottom" episode.
There's actually a theory that the reason why SpongeBob couldn't get back on a bus was that the Driver at the opening called the other employees not to pick him up because what he did with the balloon at the opening.
The bus gag is one of my all time favorite jokes. Makes me laugh every time 😂
Sandy loves her home (Texas) so much that she is triggered and goes super tough farm girl every time someone disrespects it. That episode is always fun to watch, especially the chase sequence.😁

I really liked how creatively creepy Rock Bottom was. To me, it summed up what it would look like if someone entered an unknown town they didn’t know about at all, you never know what could happen or what it looks like.
(Also, I don’t know why, but the vending machine scene in the Rock Bottom episode was hilarious. It’s like the bus immediately doesn’t want SpongeBob. 😅)
I love how Rock Bottom represents the Deep Sea. Spongebob, the show, really likes to use its setting for some interesting gags or stories.

Rock Bottom is actually so iconic that the famous SpongeBob rollercoaster at Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America is based on that episode, called Rock Bottom Plunge! Definitely one of the best!
I think one of the people who wrote Rock Bottom based it on how, when he was a kid, he accidentally got on the wrong bus and ended up in a different town.

Rock Bottom is the best part of this video, because of the worldbuilding and unique creatures. It also kinda scares me as a kid.
I live in a small village where the bus only stops once a hour, so if you miss it you have to wait (at least) 60 minutes for the next one. I’ve experienced it so many times that the bus just didn’t show up, but when I gave up waiting for it or got distracted or something, it suddenly arrived! And when I got back at the bus stop, the bus already left.
Long story short: it kinda reminds me of the SpongeBob bus gag (even though it isn’t funny at all if it happens to you..)

As someone who takes the bus daily every week for work i can relate a bit to The Rock bottom episodes. Some of the drivers have left me stranded for at least 35 minutes in pouring down rain and bad weather because they left early and the other time i got on the wrong bus just like Patrick and SpongeBob but that was because the bus numbers didn't come up right away and i didn't realize i stepped on the wrong one until it was to late the metro bus system. Lesson learned double check with the driver to make sure the bus your taking is actually the right one.

Spongebob, Patrick and Mr. Crabs finding buried treasure is very incredible. Spongebob and Patrick ending up in rock bottom is probably not what they expected. And it's very nice of Spongebob to throw a Texas party for Sandy. Also Plankton getting Spongebob to very mean to other people was a terrible idea.
