- Spongebob Squarepants Reaction is today's video! Hey everyone! Join me and NICKFLIX as we continue our Spongebob Squarepants Journey today with the ending of Season 1!
A square yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, in the city of Bikini Bottom on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. He works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. During his time off, SpongeBob has a knack for attracting trouble with his starfish best friend, Patrick. Arrogant octopus Squidward Tentacles, SpongeBob's neighbor, dislikes SpongeBob because of his childlike behavior.

"Hooky" is such an iconic episode. Not only is it absolutely hilarious, but also a pretty good lesson about listening to your elders and not giving into peer pressure.
In the same episode, the elder admits to never giving his employees breaks.
Krabs ain’t someone worth listening to. He’s canonically an abuser/manipulator. The only person he’s kind to is his daughter and he only does the bare minimum for her, except for when she forces him to spoil her.

@@Kiloeve If Squidward just kept the prank with SpongeBob to getting slightly messy it wouldn't have been a big deal, but no he just had to fling the little guy across the restaurant multiple times (on his face none less) then in the trash to finish it all off. Thats not even remotely funny.
@@chloenieuwsma4846 I meant double standards, in general. I'm sure SpongeBob did something similar later down in the seasons (most likely accidental), but yes, he did KO him.
Patrick flossing his teeth on the tin can wire in "April Fools" is the one and only time my mom ever laughed at anything related to SB. It was a great moment for kid me lol.

I like how in the “Fools in April”, Squidward actually feels guilty about what he did to SpongeBob. Although everytime he tries to apologize to him, but he keeps failing at it does gets some laughs out of me.

Season 1 is the only season of Spongebob where every frame was drawn by hand, and in season 2 it is done more digitally, this isn't bad but is a difference you will see in the next season. Also a great reaction! This goes to show how funny Spongebob's first three seasons were, for children and for adults
to enjoy.

Neptune's Spatula was certainly a decent introduction to King Neptune, helped by the fact that he was voiced hilariously by John O'Hurley who at that point was well known for playing J. Peterman in Seinfeld, which I highly recommend checking out at some point if you haven't already!

The Hooky episode reminds of my old days fishing at the ocean with my uncle at Humboldt County, California: Eureka. It's fun. But the fish that caught are too young and small. I had to set them free.🎣🐟
Netune’s Spatula: No lie, I prefer this King Neptune over the movie version.
Hooky: This episode really is a lesson about peer-pressure. And of course, SpongeBob will never learn as he still hangs out with Patrick.
Squidward playing that mean prank on Spongebob was not necessary. It's a good thing that Spongebob is teaching King Neptune how to make his own krabby patties. Also Patrick playing with those hooks was very dangerous for Patrick to do. And Spongebob meeting his superheroes was very great.
Can't wait for Season 2 and 3! That's where the show was at it's absolute best in my opinion! 😄

Great reaction guys! I just all of a sudden remembered watching the Hooky episode in children's church twenty-some years ago, for a lesson on listening to your parents and consequences. 😂 Hope you get to season 2 soon!
Hooky is such a clever episode, it uses something unique to the underwater.setting while still teaching a very real moral about responseability.
Also Fun Fact: The Guy in the shower was Tom Kenny, Spongebob's voice actor, he also briefly appeared in "Suds" getting his back washed. They really liked putting him in the shower in Season 1 I guess.

Only thing i didnt like about Hooky was the ending. Patricks joke was fine, but laughing at Spongebob because he was scared about dying? Didn't rub me the right way.

I've been waiting to see you guys react to Hooky, April Fools, and Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy 2!! Hooky is really funny and can be a metaphor for almost anything addicting. April Fools is an interesting episode as we get to see Squidward's caring side at the end like we did with Pizza Delivery. MM&BB 2 just has a lot of funny visual gags, specifically the flame engine.
But now we're finally out of season 1 and onto season 2, with some of my personal fave episodes of all time
Side note: I think Nick might've had flashbacks to Hellraiser at 19:01 and 19:09 🤣🤣🤣
Watching you two react to the Hooky episode, I can’t help but think of the times that I would be fishing and wonder what they think. (I don’t keep the fish to eat or mount on a wall. I do the old fashioned catch and release style for fishing.)
