How do you like the Neptune? I’m looking at adding a lathe to my woodshop and am thinking about this one. Have you noticed any difference coming from a belt drive lathe to a direct drive.
My first lathe being a wen.... not saying wen is a bad product, it was a great first lathe for me, but the difference is massive. And by that I mean belt driven and direct drive. The biggest difference is smoothness of each pass with a gouge. I don't know all the science behind it but each cut feels smoother and safer. I was told I wont ever need another lathe if one goes with the Nova Neptune. Their just well made lathes. I have barely been turning for a year and I have been graced with this lathe which has made my technique even better than it was with the Wen. But I must say that my technique wouldn't be as skilled as it is if it wasn't for the belt driven lathe. I am sure you can understand that concept.
Awesome! 🎉
