The idea is Stephan had the means to save Wong's life; and if Stephan withheld that from him, he'd basically be killing Wong. After West died, his spirit reminded him of that oath before departing; something our dear friend, Noah Sterling, conveniently left out.
Read the story online(sorry Marvel you'll get your money don't worry), Benedict Cumberbatch said that story was one of the ones he read in preparation for the movie and its obvious why. Honestly its one of my favorite Marvel stories, really highlights his both his weakness and his strength's. During that story he faces demons that slew multiple Sorcerer Supremes' but proves why he the Earth's and this dimension's greatest champion. Actually West's motivations where a bit more genuine then the video would lead you to believe. I cant quote it directly, but the argument was if something comes out that can cure everything and everybody lives for 100-150 years where are you going to put them? How are you going to deal with this sudden influx of 100 yo people in perfect health, what kind of drain would that be on society, on nature, on the planet? Also the kiss between Night Nurse and Dr. Strange...That ever go anywhere relationship wise?
But then again, that argument could be used for medicin in general. Like, why give medicin to the old, that can't contribute to society? Why is he a Dr. if he believe that philosophy? :)

For example, Thor Ragnarok takes more inspiration from Planet Hulk than the Ragnarok event in the comics. Hulk got sidelined in his own story, taking on the Silver Surfer's roll from the original story while Thor takes Hulk's. Also, Hela is LOKI'S daughter, not Odin's. Even the comics got that right; why bungle up mythology even more? Furthermore, she didn't break Thor's hammer in the original Ragnarok; it was destroyed in a fight with a bunch of Thor's enemies assembled by Loki, each wielding a copy of Mjolnir made by Surtur after Loki stole Mjolnir's mold from Eitri, one of the dwarves that forged the original Mjolnir. Lastly, it was actually Mistress Death (Marvel's grim reaper) who perceived that Life and Death were out of balance on favor of life and thus commissioned Thanos to wipe out half of its life, though collecting the Infinity Stones and making the gauntlet to wield them was Thanos' idea as part of a ploy to win Mistress Death's favor and rule alongside her as romantic partners and equals.

This is the comics, not the MCU. The MCU bungled up the colors of the Infinity Stones for no reason; and because consistency by way of the excuse called reality warping, the Infinity Stones in the comic were recently altered to mach the colors in the MCU. This was before then; as such, the green gem Strange had was the SOUL Stone, NOT the Time Stone. That's right, once again, the MCU LIED to you; and this time, they also altered the original source materiel just so they could make it technically NOT a to the "Bwodder moovy awdiense" anymore.
i personally think saving wong was actually the better option, not because of medical reasons, but because of how greedy big corporations would get and try and use the elixir for their own good.

After M.o.M. This would actually be a perfect direction for Doctor Strange to go in the MCU. Idk what they’re doing with Clea but The Oath is one of my favorite Dr. Strange stories so I’d love to see it on the big screen. Plus it’d bring Rosario Dawson back to the MCU as night nurse.

This is the comics, not the MCU. The MCU bungled up the colors of the Infinity Stones for no reason; and because consistency by way of the excuse called reality warping, the Infinity Stones in the comic were recently altered to mach the colors in the MCU. This was before then; as such, the green gem Strange had was the SOUL Stone, NOT the Time Stone. That's right, once again, the MCU LIED to you; and this time, they also altered the original source materiel just so they could make it technically NOT a to the "Bwodder moovy awdiense" anymore.

i personally think saving wong was actually the better option, not because of medical reasons, but because of how greedy big corporations would get and try and use the elixir for their own good.

After M.o.M. This would actually be a perfect direction for Doctor Strange to go in the MCU. Idk what they’re doing with Clea but The Oath is one of my favorite Dr. Strange stories so I’d love to see it on the big screen. Plus it’d bring Rosario Dawson back to the MCU as night nurse.
Given that the only way Strange becomes Sorcerer Supreme again is if Wong dies... this story might end differently than in the comic.
