I read the comic (it's not that good) they don't exactly have a passionate night. Iron man underperforms and Gamora is left unsatisfied (she doesn't even get to take her underwear and bra off). Quill didn't care because him and Gamora weren't really a thing in the comics at that point.

CapAlonso2435 not skipping it. This is just and explanation of the Bendis "Cosmic Avengers" storyline, and in those comics the Annihilation story and the origin of the group aren't mentioned.
Maybe someday they'll do an Annihilation: Conquest video and explain it there.

CapAlonso2435 The DnA era of the Guardians has so much crazy material to make for an interesting TL;DR although some of the stuff that happens there can't be done justice in these segments. Besides with this you don't have to read Bendis' horrible run anymore.

Thank god Bendis isn't doing Guardians, anymore.
He has a certain style to his writing that works really well within a lot of genres, mostly street level, crime stories like Jessica Jones. He can also write coming of age, rookie hero stories really well, like Ultimate Spider-Man. He's great at world building and utilizing old stories to connect dots that weren't there but are there and turns out these pretty interesting and creative stories. BUT... that doesn't always work well in other genres. He's not great at telling short, action packed stories that should be over and done in an issue or two, like his Avengers run. He will instead drag something that should be 2-3 pages into a full issue. This ends up dragging down stories and events that should be fun into a slog of word balloons that are more focused on being witty than moving the story along at an appropriate pace.
Bendis has done a lot for the industry since starting and is semi-responsible for the current state of Marvel as a whole. He created Jessica Jones and Miles Morales, two of my favorite characters out there currently.
I appreciate what he's done, but I hesitate to pick up any new books he's put on until at least the first arch is done.
Bendis and Marvel editors are douchebags. They constantly shits on some of my favorite characters, including Richard Rider and Thanos.

Dr. strange I mean he literally saw millions of possible futures he could've just gone "ok people starlord is going to f this up so mantis just before you jump into thanos put starlord to sleep". But then again we all know it was all part of dr. strange's plan, hence he said "we are at the end game".

Should of done the original 2008 run which is when they formed and honestly has a far better story.
I LOVE Sara Pichelli's artwork but I HATED this outfit redesigned. And I wasn't a fan of how focused it was on having Iron Man with them (& soon after a bevy of characters from earth rotate around the ranks [even if a few have intergalactic connections ie Marvel or Venom]). But I did enjoy the story & arcs.
We need more TL;DR
And in cinematic universe Thor joins the guardians
