I’m sorry I purchased a Solo Stove. Mostly all the campgrounds don’t permit them, they’ll only allow a camp fire in their own rings or there are national fire restrictions. It hasn’t been worth traveling with it as it is big and bulky to travel with, not to mention it’s an expensive purchase.

We bought 2 zero gravity chairs for a total of $85 and so far they are working for us. They do take up room but they fit in our storage.
I laughed about the zero gravity chairs. 10 years ago I'd have agreed on this. Maybe even 5 years ago when we had our smaller RV with more limited space. But I bought a zero gravity chair prior to our big, month-long trip in 2022. Honestly it is some of the best money I've ever spent since we started RVing. I love having a bit of an easy chair by the fire.
I can't think of anything major we've spent money on that we regret. I guess it's a testament to doing a lot of research and being loathe to spend money. 😀

Zero gravity chairs we love, cover for rv a wais of money- buy a truck tarp or hay tarp , they will last for years. We love boondocks and harvest host the most. I have no idea how you all can afford all the different memberships. Might check out thousand trails if you live on that side of the US. We are west side and mid US right now.
I would be in agony without my Z Gravity chair. I have back problems and those cheap camp chairs suck big time. I don't care about the space needed to store the Z chair. It is amazing and I even sleep in it as I can't sleep on a flat bed.
I love my zero gravity chairs. I don’t leave home without them.
The only membership that we found that is worthwhile is Harvest Host. We have a Thousand Trails SE membership that expires in January and we won’t be renewing that. We live in Florida, so we have no need for it.
I say to never buy a Brand New Massive RV as your first RV.
Rent and or buy used smaller one 30' and under if you want to get into 90 % of places.
The super large ones are very nice for living in but you will be limited on places to stay and turn around oh and fuel stops
We love our zero gravity chairs. Over $100 each? No way! We bought ours in WV. Found them for around $50 each. Watch end of season sales too. Wouldn’t camp without them. ❤️❤️❤️
I concur with the RV cover problems. We're older and they have proven to be a pain and can be really dangerous if you're at risk for a fall. And yes they tear even the best quality ones.

Our 3” queen memory foam from Walmart is SUPER comfortable. It is not the egg crate style but a true memory foam. Guess it depends on the brand of the mattress under it also.
To each his own but I love our zero gravity chairs!
We can relate to 3 of these video's issues.... We're snowbirds, so our zero gravity chairs stay out at our site all winter (once at final destination, 5+ months)... but they also stay in a storage bay for the rest (bulk) of the year... we had a dolly for a short time and saw the light and got rid of it (made money) besides i got to buy myself a jeep!!! and then there's the batteries, we to had an ouch selling (at a loss) 6 lead acid deep cycle relatively new, gone in favor of lithium, thank heavens for lithium & solar...
I’m up north and was debating about getting an rv cover for the winter…glad you mentioned it!!!
About the zero gravity chairs, my husband and I are in our 60's. He has a bad back (his 5th fusion is scheduled next month). He loves his chair. In fact he has used it in our house when he couldn't sleep in our adjustable bed. If someone is as active as your family the chairs may not make sense but us slow movers enjoy them. We also are getting some lighter camp chairs for the beach or kids sporting events.
We got a mattress topper from tuft and needle and we love it!
oh yeah, a mattress topper is so much cheaper than a new mattress. And ours works just fine and is very comfy.
I agree with the Zero Gravity chairs. Too big and not all that comfortable. After one winter with a cover, I have no regrets. I must have bought the right cover since I experienced none of the problems you talked about. I just wish I would have used it during 3-4 week idle times over the summer.

Just to let you know I am watching ALL of your videos regardless how old they are, this one fortunately I don't need to make purchasing anything major because I recently started living in my rig and I am still unpacking. so keep the videos coming they are more informative and entertaining than regular TV, here's one thing you explain to every detail so there's no guess work
We ditched our cover when it ripped and did not replace. RV dealerships don’t cover their new RVs during the winter. That was our first clue. Also we do love our gel cover for our mattress. It was a game changer for us. Great video. You did a great job of covering this topic. It makes you think!! Deana

We love our zero gravity chairs. Mainly b/c they recline and feel like we're in our recliner at home. We have room to store them easily and accessible. And, got them on sale for about $60 each.
We used a cover for the first time this year. It had survived a Canadian winter and other than one tiny hole where we missed covering a sharp spot it is in perfect condition. There were a few times I was worried about it but I’ve been impressed.

We bought the zero gravity chairs. They are comfortable but heavy & awkward. They also take up a lot is basement space. We also got an RV cover. It is still in the unopened box. Neither of us want to climb up on the roof. Unfortunately Idaho winter weather is hard on the RV also.
My parents carried around the zero gravity chairs for I don't know how many years. They RV's 30+ years full time. I will say, they didn't move as fast as some do now. They absolutely loved them. I liked them when I was sitting in them but found them to be work to get into and out of. Especially out of! I don't know what chairs I will get when I buy my RV at the beginning of the year!
I use a RV cover. Have been for over 6 years. I have been quite happy with its performance.
They can be a bit hassle to use but I feel they are worth the challenge.
We had old memory foam toppers to out original home mattress before we replaced it with a total memory mattress. We are using the old foam toppers on our substandard mattress in out RV pretty well. Because: FREE.
I was lucky enough to buy a TT elite membership for $750 from a family member and my annual fee is the same as a zone pass. I agree on the zero gravity chairs. We camp on the weekends and they are a lot of work. If we are somewhere for a week then it’s worth the effort for us. Love my gci fire pit rocker though.
I think rv covers are good for smaller rigs not so much for the bigger ones. Our cover has been good to us. It also could be brand. I lover your videos they are great info. I’m not a kid person but watching your kids grow up has been entertaining. We also got rid of our gravity chairs. They are heavy and some times the head rest gets worn and just slides down. We live in Canada but I truly love watching the things you guys do.
I totally agree with everything you said, except for the chair. 1) I have a bad back and it is better for me to sit on. 2) mine was a gift from my son. He didn’t like his. If the cords break and it stars becoming undone, like mine did, it is really thought to replace the cords. But we made a go of it,
ITA with the zero-gravity chair (now residing in the basement of my house) and the RV cover.
At one time we had a Class C and paid almost $400 for a supposedly-heavy-duty cover. By the end of the winter it was shredded in multiple places and went into the trash. Never again!
We do use tire covers on our Class A, however, in the hope that they will help slow down sun damage to the tires while in our driveway.
We use tire covers when stationary for more than a few weeks too
So a cover depends on a lot of things... where you are storing and the environment you are storing in just to start. We are on our 5th RV (bumper pull toy hauler, 5th wheel, 5th wheel toy hauler, travel trailer and now a Class A). I have had covers for only one but it saved the exterior on that rig from sun and sand damage as it was stored in the high desert. Now tire covers are the thing that I am mystified that more people dont invest in, they extend the life of your tires significantly. As far as camp chairs and zero gravity chairs, I love zero gravity chairs and the comfort they provide is worth it to haul around as long as the rig has the storage space BUT I am always looking for something else since I have an issue getting in and out of them! I cant get comfortable in the cheap camp chairs, I am only 5'3" and they just kill my back because I cant reach the ground! Most camp chairs are built for men. So I am always looking for something that fits me.

0 gravity works well now for my daughter when she wants to tan, it’s not with the RV anymore. No cover here the winds in NM tear everything up outside. I just dropped my KOA. The parks are too expensive for me. They are nice just $$$. Lithium maybe someday!! The weight savings is awesome along with the life span.

We mostly use state and federal parks to stay in, a lot cheaper. We keep our KOA membership as a backup. They are in most states and on well traveled roads.

An RV camp mat!! Very expensive & only found at rv dealers!! Yes they are easy to hose off & keep clean on one hand, but they are Very Heavy & bulky!! I instead later got a nice size piece of outdoor rug (not grass but very low profile) lightweight, easy to sweep, hose off,& haul . . Being lightweight I would have to put rocks on the corners to keep in place but a small inconvenience . .

I'm 6'7, and prefer our Tommy Bahama beach chairs. People often joke if we would like an adult chair. I like how easy they store, and easy to carry.
My wife loves her zero gravity chair (my son gave it to her). We used an RV cover many times over three years and never had a problem with it. It really helped extend the life of the rubber roof and made it easier to get the snow off. And the TT elite membership works for our way of travel (avoid the middle of the country 😂). Great topic and video as usual! And I despised the dolly! Flat towing the Jeep is so much easier.

I have two zero gravity chairs. Can't stand lugging them about either. I need to replace them for sure. The mattress topper too!! I want to buy new Lithium batteries, but a full set of replacement tires coming first in the spring.

Be very careful what size your inverter is. Sometimes it takes a month or more to get them and if they are damaged your out of luck or you didn't get a big enough one for your life style. Did that too. Ugh

Just before leaving for this project in JAX, I sold our rig. Just couldn't stand to leave her sitting for the next 18-24 months, insert tears here. It was a hard decision but the cost of the RV resorts at my destination was not cost effective when compared to long term Hilton/Marriott properties. Couldn't believe how much the monthly rates have increased since my last stays!

I didn't go for a 'Dolly' of 'A Frame' system for my Toyota Starlet. I went for a full car carrying trailer and it has worked well for me towing it behind my Winnebago, 2006, 'Leisure Seeker'.

The chairs! We almost never take our zero gravity chairs. 2 small generators in stead of of medium size one. This works great in some cases. We also tent camp and wanted to have a smaller light weight one so it would be easy to carry and fit in our storage on our rv. Well. We found out that they just didn’t cut it at elevation. We sold them and got a bigger one and it does the job way better and half the maintenance! Oh. Switched to lifepo4 a few years ago. Went cheap and built our own packs( I am an electrician). So no biggie for me. Total cost $1400. For 560 amp hours. If you have the skill to do it, it is the cheapest way. Lifepo4 batteries on Amazon does have some great deals now on pre built ones! Just be careful as you would with any electrical equipment.

This is a great list. We shopped for a mattress as ours is a hinged queen. It's an extra $125 just for the hinge on a replacement mattress. We opted for the mattress topper and it seems to work well for us weekend warrior campers.
I bought a topper because my mattress is also hinged and it is comfortable enough. Maybe in a few years I will consider replacing the mattress, but that will be a big expense.
The hinged mattress are difficult to replace

We are on our second RV and the gravity chairs went bye bye fast . They are the home base chairs now . And did the mattress memory foam from Costco and it was nice for a day or so weekend camping but slide all the time just up grade it's worth the night sleep nobody wants a grumpy Bear 🐻 in the morning.

Started with lead-acid, moved to higher amp AGM then moved all the way to 200 amp Lithium.
All of that was at 12 volts, next time the move will be to 48 volt lithium.
You are right about the zero gravity chairs. I already had them and love them on my patio, but they are heavy and did not fit in my garage with all the other stuff so I got a loveseat fold up chair from Lippert and love it because my dogs can sit on it with me.
Those fold up loveseats are awesome!

so... newbie here. Saw your comment about the car dolly, which we've been considering because my Kia Soul can't be flat towed. Yikes. Note, we're so newbie we haven't even done our shakedown trip yet. Maybe I should trade the Kia in for that wrangler I've always wanted... 😉 or maybe we should wait until we have a few trips under our belts to make sure we know what we want/need.

The biggest regret was the coach itself! We went from a 31.5’ Class B++ to a Class A 36’ coach and REGRETTED IT! While equipped with so many options to make driving better it was a beast…SOLD! Bought a 30’ Class A and much better!

The anti-gravity chairs have been a waste. I don't typically hang around the campground, I am off hiking or looking for historic sites. I bought tire covers but have yet to use them as I am full time an move every couple of weeks. I have a Travel Resorts of America membership that I regret and am trying to find places to use it. Rarely do they have a campground I want to be. The biggest waste for me was the RV itself, it is too big and I want to downgrade to a smaller Class C or one of the small 5th wheels; or something like a used Born Free. Thanks for all the tips!

So far the only thing we've purchased that we hardly use is the ice maker. I'll keep it now that it's bought but definitely not worth the money in my opinion.
Our ice maker is the absolute best purchase we have made for the RV. I make just the ice we need and can do so while traveling or when parked. Before we were buying bagged ice and never enough room for it and wasted most of it. It fits nicely beside the dinette and that where it lives out of sight too.
We absolutely love our ice maker. We use only filtered or bottled water in it. It’s the first thing we set up inside when we land. But it is bulky and I can see how some folks might not like it.
For us, if ours failed tomorrow, I’d purchase a new one immediately.

Those lithium batteries just might end up in a future regret video. Too often they don't go the distance. Time will tell, but some early reports are not good. There can be charging issues. Sometimes the internal electronics fail. Hope yours turn out to be good ones as I know they weren't cheap.

Just a question how well do lithium battery s hold up in the cold I live in new England I know all my hand tools with lithium batteries don't seem to work as well .thanks for all your input
I see you installed 4 lithium batteries as did we. Unfortunately we are both technically challenged and need to find out why our rv goes completely zero power the minute we unplug from the campsite! Can you do a video and walk us through how to set the mystery buttons on the inverter and the other thingamajig so it takes over? We want to go boondocking and can't without power.

Thanks for the suggestion for a video. Since each inverter can have different settings we can share about ours but it might be not be the same at the one you have. Have you contacted your installer? They should be able to talk you through things.
We are newbies/weekenders preparing to go full-time. I was just about to buy a cover for the winter! I will not be investing in this now. Lol We have a pressure gauge for the water line at one end and a filter at the camper end. Is that too much or is it ok?
That might be too much restriction, opt for the adjustable water pressure regulator instead so
You can turn it up if need be.
What is an alternative to a cover if your rv is going to sit in an open driveway? We are in sunny Southern California.
We’ve considered building a large car port - if you’re in an area with no wind or rain, covers sometimes work but wind tends to shred them.
Our mattress is not a rectangle. I have looked at the RV mattress but they don't make what we need. So we have tried a couple of toppers. Still really haven't found the "perfect topper". Would love to hear any options.
Southern Mattress in NC makes custom fitted mattresses for RVs. We have twin mattresses in our Casita with curved corners. Pricey, but top quality. There are other companies that do that, Southern Mattress seems to be the most recommended, with templates for most RVs.

As 35 year RV’s here are our takes:
Expensive memberships are not worth it unless they are in areas you will also go to and that is what you will always use. We do use KOA , Harvest Host and Good Sam. Not expensive and although some are hit and miss, but we use them, plus state and national parks for approximately 180 nights a year.
We had an EXPENSIVE RV cover ($1000) made for our large class C. It lasted 5 years and even included it when we sold it. Considering we live in Arizona with EXTREME SUN and HEAT, the cover SAVED our RV finish. At 8 years old it still looked great and I attribute it to the cover. But they are heavy.
We purchased the zero gravity chairs but they are heavy and take up room. We liked them but it was always easier to grab the camp chairs. Now they are stored in our garage.
Our new our RV mattress is a Sealy. Not bad but not good. We added a 3” SEALY MEMORY FOAM topper to it. You are correct, not cheap, but after 6 months of use we still think it is as comfortable as our Brooklyn Betting Sedona mattress.
Batteries: we LOVE OUR BATTLE BORN lithium. Great investment.
We’ve owned 8 Motorhomes, tried all types of AGM or Lead-acid but for our money, the lithium is the way to go. We have a 12volt fridge and never need to run the generator unless we need the ac or microwave.

Garbage tires you should stay away from known as China bombs
Power king and trailer king. These two are the most expensive tires when they blow out for your rv. It is not if they will BLOW OUT but when. It will be a mess in damage.

Nomad, is horrible. I am a RVer and also live in a remote areas where internet service is almost non existent. I went through nomad as my options were limited . The single worst experience I have had. Not only did they lie, but they were also overpriced with absolutely zero customer service. I will caution everyone to “run” from Nomad.

Zero gravity chair s are a joke ..
Most of these are NOT big purchases, so that is misleading. And for some of these items, the solution is WAY more expensive. While I appreciate the info on the tow dolly, I found out that my brand new AWD Toyota Highlander will have to be towed on a trailer when I start FT in 2 yrs. But your solution to buy a towable vehicle that can be towed flat is kind of silly. Talk about a big purchase! Are you sponsored by BattleBorn Batteries? If you are, you really need to state that upfront when you tell people not to spend $275 on a lead acid battery, but rather spend $1200 on a Battleborn Battery! I know BBB's are really great, but they are a HUGE investment, and you better be planning on lots of boondocking in order to make them pay for themselves.
