Hey guys, I just started using a leg Chanel system, I had straps before, but I'm not sure how tight I should have the initial chanel velcro adjustable strap on the inside of the pad.
If I have too much overlap I'm the thigh rise when going down in butterfly should I get a smaller thigh rise? I'm going from a lot older set of pads with lower thigh rises? Or will I adjust to it

Great video! Which stock option pad would you reccommend to someone with a narrow butterfly due to stiff hips and playing more of a hybrid style? I'm usually a 34+2 but feel I could go even more + (although that's difficult to find stock). Also, I assume a defined and perhaps exaggerated S-Curve would help?
If you want more thigh rise, then yes +2 is it and Vaughn is your brand, as they are the only company with a stock +2. More of a curve to the thigh rise for sure would help close that 5-hole. Definitely give Cam a call though - he'd be happy to chat about your options!
Best bet is to call Cam or one of the guys in the store. 34, 34+1 or 34+2 all have the knee in the same place...so they'll need to assess things for you.
this is awesome video with great information I wish I had come out six months earlier when I ordered my gear, Oh well at least I know better from this video for my next set, age and body allowing
hey so im 6 ft and im wearing 35+2 and the issue im finding is tht when im skating the thigh rises keep catching on each other does tht mean they are too big?
At 6'2 I dont think thats a problem...even 6'0. You might want to try testing out wearing your pads looser or tighter at the top. There could still be overlap but it might be easier to work with.
So do you add the floor to knee measurement with the knee to crotch measurement to determine the size of the pad? In this instance, that would be 20.5 + 9.5...so would the pad size be 30 inches?
Funny isn't it ? The measurement is all about where the knee is but nobody wearing a 32" pad has their knee 32" off the ground! Honestly, we'd never feel comfortable saying any particular measurement of your leg can do anything but give you a rough idea - there are plenty of sizing charts out there from each company but at the end of the day before you make a significant investment like this we think it's important to try them on in person.
Great video. So is there any way to stop your child from growing?? Cuz I’ve had to get 3 sets in 1 year 😭😭 thank goodness for sales preshipping problems.
I had some Koho pads in the 80s because of Patrick Roy, but learned then to never try on pads without skates, or you can end up tripping all over yourself.
Never knew the wrap trick. Very useful
Probably the best video I've seen on this. Good job guys!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it and appreciate the comment.
DON'T STOP THE CHIRPING BOYS - THE INFO IS GREAT BUT THE CHIRPING IS THE BEST ENTERTAINMENT!!
I love the energy in this vid guys good job !! Im trying to get my hockey gear in spain and ooof
Thanks so much! Spain? Love to hear we have people watching in such great places!
Awesome break down!
Great advice guys!! And entertaining too! Lol
Thank you...no point in doing something if you're not having un, right?

Play with it - honestly people's preferences vary but tend to snug but not tight if that makes any sense.
What’s your take on adding boot risers to get that extra 1/2 inch or inch?

I got my pads size I only wore knee pads and skates do you think that’s still fine
I use a Bauer 33" but my knee is getting close to the edge of the knee padding would I go to a 34 or 34+1 or 2 or 35?

Glad you enjoyed it - sorry it didn't come sooner :(
I am 6ft3 what size would I be able to fit properly? I’m having problems trying to find my size 😢
Find your ankle to knee or floor to knee measurement and go from there
Well done boys! 👍🏼
Thanks!!
When measuring to the ankle bone from knee, is it the bottom, middle, top?
Good Q! Cam says middle to middle...
hey so im 6 ft and im wearing 35+2 and the issue im finding is tht when im skating the thigh rises keep catching on each other does tht mean they are too big?
Yea for 6ft 35+2 is huge, try a 35+1 or a 34+2
@@holtenphillips4307i measured and im actually 6ft 2 lol still big tho?

It's Miguel Angel Gimenez that warms up like that, not Olazabal 🙂

What do u think are the best toe ties
Halo hockey posi toe ties.
How tall are you? My knee to floor is the same measurement like yours with that wrap around technique.
Woody claims to be 6 feet tall but you know what happens when you get old…
Great video. So is there any way to stop your child from growing?? Cuz I’ve had to get 3 sets in 1 year 😭😭 thank goodness for sales preshipping problems.
But it's also so satisfying when they do grow....so hard isn't it!!

If im a 32+1.5 in warrior. Does that mean I should go to 33+1 True?
honestly best to check with Cam and ideally try them on....
I am realizing that v9s are too big for me😭. 34 plus 2 on the v9s.
Where is this shop located???
Langley, BC goo.gl/maps/3w58ccHYh5DqxDEq5
It's the calf wrap on the inside of the chanel, typically the first strap you have to fasten before the outside calf wrap or knee strap
Cool
Got any warrior 36+1.5?
Call Cam - he'd love to help!
How tall is Kevin?
He claims 6' but we're pretty sure he's shrunk a lot in his old age.
@@InGoalMedia what would Kevin’s pad size be in the 12.2 or PX3
The employee was super rude I wouldn’t shop there
can't tell if you are joking or not...these two have been chirping each other for ages, it's an act
@ thank you for that update! Makes sense now
Do you realize a butterfly goalie has more holes than swiss cheese or a sive
GOD bless you rookies.Amen.
What's with the mask? Covids left the building.
Cool...but our old videos don't magically edit themselves ;) Time for a refresh though!
@@InGoalMedia Yes, refresh!
Those goalie masks look ridiculous.
What a stupid comment... I'm sure these guys would rather not be wearing a mask but had to at the time to keep working.
