    one thing id love to see is a video showing how each chest protector works in tandem with pants. I buy pants and chest at the same time because i always need to make sure they work together but in most videos out there no one shows how to wear the chest tucked, untucked or with suspenders with the accompanying pants. CCM Axis 2 has loops on the left and right of the chest that can be used to tie into ccm axis 2 pants with the clips located on each side of the pant while also allowing you to tighten the internal pant belt around the chest protector. Its a great way to use a tuck method but is really talked about or shown.

    so the most important measurement seems to be arm length? what about us big belly, short arm guys? Does the belly section of the unit get smaller with each size down, or just the arms? Im looking at Warrior in particular, which seme to have a strange way of sizing pants where the waist is the same in almost all the senior sizes.

    This is another fantastic video. As a goalie parent of a freak we had to swing to a McKinney Franken chesty. He has senior medium arms on a intermediate xxl front and senior small side armour. All parts are laced in so that’s awesome.

      If you want one with good rib protection I recommend the v9 pro stock from Vaughan

    I really wish companies would sell the chest and the arms separately. I prefer a Large chest because I want more length, but I'm definitely medium arms. I end up having to buy custom chest protectors from companies like Brown or Passau just to have it fit the way I want.

    Great video and information - how tall is Woody for frame of reference?

      6' ... or at least he was...turned 50 recently so there's a step backwards coming if not already there :)

    It’s getting harder to find equipment that fits properly for stocky goalies as the height keeps going up and up.

      Like the ability to remove lower sections on some models for shorter torso goalies, or in this case tuck that lower belly portion up and under for added protection and a shorter profile ... other option is to keep it untucked and let it hang out over the pants if it's a bit too long ... can help increase how big you look in there too, just ask Vasilevskiy ;)

    Arms in chesty are too short. Getting drilled in the forearm between glove and forearm protection. Any added forearm protection options out there?

      The problem is gloves have cut more and more wrist protection, ostensibly for more "flexibility," but chest pads are still sized the same as ever, with a couple inches below the wrist for the same reason.

      Recommend doing the measurements in the video, and contacting Cam and his crew directly so they can double check how they compare to the sizing on the Mach ... also check out our video on their custom Mach chesty ;)

    What is the difference in protection level generally between jr and int chest protectors. My kid is right between them in size right now. They play 12u AA is it more worth it to go with the inter

    • @Banondax
      @Banondax 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not a professional, but I think I switched to INT at 9 or 10 years old (so that's about ten years ago). Played both AA and AAA, and I'd definitely recommend switching to the INT, those are generally a lot more protective than Junior ones. The shots at U12 level are quite hard already and will get harder very quickly. At first at least for me the INT chesty was a bit uncomfortable as it was very stiff compared to the Junior one, but it also was a ton more protective.

    • @InGoalMedia
      @InGoalMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As those shots get harder, worry about fear factor creeping in if the protection isn't enough, and last thing we want is young goalies flinching or not having fun because it hurts ... we'd lean intermediate and more protection so long as the size isn't so big it prohibits movement ... as always, contact Cam and his crew, they've been answering these questions for a LONG time and are great about giving you honest answers, not just trying to sell you something
