I feel really bad for Suith here. She was born into a role she didn’t want or ask for. And to top it off, her own father lost faith in her abilities, and tried to kill her. Just so he could have a more “perfect” heir. I’m just glad for all his complaining, Rell still loved his sister more than his desire to be king. That’s true family. :)
These types of stories, in my honest opinion, would be something I would see straight out of "Panzer Dragoon Saga" or any of the Panzer Dragoon games if you ask me.
I love this storyline. Even if Rell wanted the throne, he still chose his sister over anything else. He knew she couldn't make it alone, so he gave up everything to help her, I wish real life was always like that.
I love the twist with the father being the villain rather than the brother. I would love to see a twist with humans being friendly to dragons, or at least less aggressive than initially believed

I mean there’s Glitch who are an independent production group here on TH-cam. You know the guys that made SMG4 and are currently supporting and possibly financing the Amazing digital circus. They’re actually getting indie animations all the way finished.
This has so much potential. The adventures of two dragons with completely opposite personalities. You can make number of stories that show how each of their traits compliment each other while at the same time giving them a life adventure. Suith being one who can quietly observe but not having the courage to act while Rell being quick to act but not taking time to think of the consequences. This film is a true gem. I hope you can produce more.

I think this may be a "shades of gray" thing. The father is minus the kids' mother and trying to rule alone following very old rules that don't fit the situation. Maybe he'll realize that eventually and not be "bad".
Rell has been caring about Suith for this whole time. Sure. He was stubborn and jealous about his older sister's privileges but he's still cared. 0:40 Rell included Suith in his "fantasy playground" showing that she's matters to him. (Perhaps in storytelling wise of character introduction, but Rell still arrived to rescue Suith) 4:14 He told her sister to keep her appearance proud, he could simply left her embarrassed there. 13:06 He could rant about all the "special treatments" in his breath, but the first thing he said was about his sister. Very subtle, but that's how I see it. PS. I don't normally write YT comments but I feel like these details are too wholesome to ignore.
Great points! Makes their relationship and Rell’s reasons for saving her from their father all the more valid. He may not think she’s a capable ruler, but he still loves her for who she is; *his sister*
Even in Rell’s fantasy at the beginning, Suith isn’t a useless damsel; she uses her lightning powers to free herself at a critical moment against the knight. Deep down he always did have confidence in her abilities even before he grew up and ran away with her.
Her design is also made to look stronger and confident like Rell. Her muscles seem more defined and her stance displays a look of bravery and determination. Really nice attention to detail!
@@realdragon I wouldn't say it was sudden. He was definitely resentful, but that never meant he wanted her to die. He was forced to decide what he valued more, and he chose her life. His "change" was him desperately trying to justify keeping her alive to his father because while he wanted to be king, he never wanted to lose his sister. The second believing his sister was incapable (which was an excuse for why he should be king) was linked with her dying, he switched gears to remedy the contradiction of his desires and views.
I can't overstate how insanely impressed I am with the quality of animation as well as the neat, concise way you've told the story in the short amount of time you had! I'm absolutely hooked and I really hope we see more. I've completely fallen in love with these characters 🥺Everyone who worked on this project should be so proud of themselves, this is absolutely gorgeous. The mix of 2D and 3D is just masterful.
Can I just say I love the 2d and 3d blending in this short? If the great story, great characters, great music weren't awesome enough, it's an especially lovely treat to see the best of both mediums in a neat and tidy package of 22 minutes that still gives room for even more adventures! Give yourself and your whole team a big pat on the back for 5 years of hard work!
This was truly a work of art with so much soul and passion that many film makers today should aspire towards. I would gladly pay for this to become a series. Everyone who played a part in making this from actors, animators, to script wrighters, everyone deserves an award for making this passion project come to life. Thank you for this experience.
Oh my god the algorithm better get on this because I absolutely adore this short film!! Like the scene with Suith and Rell in the cave made me tear up the voice actors did a phenomenal job! And the animation and movements are so well done.
How I geninuely see the first humans in the story. "Why the heck are you in this cave." _"Lotsa reasons, cool rocks, bats, and its just there."_ _"Well, there's also gold in these parts."_ "Waitwaitwait, aren't we like enemies?" _"I don't have any grude against you."_ _"And I take it you don't have any grudge against me."_ "Well, yes." _"Then we arent enemies."_ (The two are fummoxed.) _"Hey, you hungry?"_ _"I got some chow, not a lot but im willing to share, maybe for a story or two."_
Rell and Suith will either explore the Overworld on their own while staying away from humans, if they’re still alive and prosperous 700 years later, or come across a human that eventually becomes their friend and helps guide them through this new environment to keep them away from danger. Kinda like Hiccup from HTTYD or something along those lines. I’m excited for what may happen next for these two! Would love to see them realize humans may have changed their ways in the last 700 years and had their reasons for the war. It could have been an entire misunderstanding between both sides at the time, due to some event that happened.
@blacksmithsforge My primary concept is based around the fact that 700 years is quite a long time. Basically, humanity has moved from a monarchy to a more democratic society after a series of revolutions. The seat of power seems largely indifferent to dragons, but sees the action of supporting them as a method to boost their own fame and popularity. There is still a faction of human supremacists (called the "Fanatics"), while they make up a very small amount of the political structure, they are make a significant part of the civillan populace with members having a ranging desire to make their effect known. While this would initally not be a problem, those 700 years has also brought on a whole array of changes to the art of warfare. Think somewhere in interim between WW1 and 2. Semi-automatic rifles are just starting to become a thing. As well as mechanization of the army. And the two favorite things of the Fanatics, Flamethrowers and Chemical weapons. Thus, these Fanatics can present a significant problem, since they see Dragons as animals at the best or literal demons at the worst. And when "god wills it" even the most abhorrent strategies are completely acceptable.

The Miner: The first person whom they make contact with, an honest man who makes an honest living. His ability to comfort those around him is key in dire times. The Officer: A man of the Army, a Hero of many wars, with a significant number of troops under his command. What are human horrors to Rell and Suith, are just a footnote on a long list for him. The Scholar: A man of science, and a man of logic. Inventor, Tinkerer, and Teacher, his inventions are worth far less that his advice. Yes, I though all this up, for a series that hasn't even begun yet.
I love this! In a single episode there's already so much emotion! I was tearing up when Rell decided to stay with his sister after their escape; he loves her more than he wants to be king! Congratulations on finishing this short film!
I haven't heard of this project before now, but I'm beyond glad that this showed up in my feed today. That plot twist was insane and so well executed. Amazing work!
I enjoyed the consistancy of Suiths emotions having influence over her electrical power. From small startled bits, to the moderate stage fright, and extreme amounts of distress from nearly drowning. The electical torrent so big the guards noticing it from the distance. The poor girl...

I saw the teaser for this, and now with it out I must say I'm incredibly impressed. The voice acting, subtle movements, editing, the mix of visual 2D and 3D and everything together came out absolutely incredible. Not to mention the story is super interesting, and I'm really enjoying the characters. I'm super excited to see where this goes and what you have in store!!

Omg this is so cool, why is this an animated short, it should be an entire series.And also the fact they are an original dragon design and not night furies is just great I mean NGL this looks like the pilot of an animated series, I really hope this becomes a series in the future

Loved every second of this!! I really enjoyed the dynamic between the siblings and the king. Some of the narrative felt a little rough at times but the thread of the story was never lost and there was a lot of awesome moments. I need more.
This short film was excellent and incredibly immersive right from the beginning to end! The characters were given great personalities and progressing arcs, especially Rell. The animation style also made the world feel unique and atmospheric! The only negative fact about this is that it wasn’t long enough, because now I want more! A 10/10 rating for such a fun short film. Hope to see more in the future! Keep up the great work!

This is a solid start to a great series! I love dragons and I really want to see this go further. It would be interesting to watch how Suith and Rel grow together and perhaps maybe take the throne one day in the dragon land or reunite the humans and dragons
@@FREGFAT flawed tho and like me and my friends argue that the fail at the end of the catacombs is the more logical outcome, arguably Spyro physically wouldn’t have been able to pull Cynder out of the golems hand and that’s just plot armor and bad writing ( with evidence throughout the trilogy for our positions XD) but yeah flawed but fun and yes arguably technically malefor wins naturally and would have won all the way back at the catacombs easily XD

The quality of the animation was absolutely amazing, the plot and twist was written perfectly, script and actors were genius, and beautiful soundtrack completes it. This is beautiful I thought the plot would be that the king pays more attention to his daughter and the son would turn evil however when he tried to kill her and her brother saved her The way the king then tried to justify it by saying that he himself wanted to be king and said she wouldn’t be a good queen The king really is pathetic Love this a lot hope more episodes drop

The music and sound effects were awesome, alongside the voice acting. It felt like a show I could see myself watching on Nickelodeon in years past haha.
This was a fantastic animation and I would love to see a full series come from it. I like the little details you put into the start with Rell’s game him rescuing his sister but also having her be capable shows how he actually feels in that he does care for her despite his jealousy and frustration.
The animation quality is breathtaking, each frame is a visual masterpiece. The plot is built excellently, with unexpected details that will surprise you. The script is sharp and the actors bring unparalleled depth to their roles. Accompanied by a mesmerizing soundtrack, this is more than just a movie-it's an unforgettable experience. Rell still loves his sister more than he wants to be king.
I was expecting that since it had been 700 years since the humans had banished the dragons underground that Rell and Suith would find a modern human society once they got above ground, and maybe since it had been so long that the humans had forgotten about them and the dragons were just legends to them . This was amazing I really hope they make a part 2.
The animation is simply beautiful! Despite its simplicity, it is perfect, and you can see the effort that went into making it incredibly vivid and full of details. The characters and their characteristics are very original, and the story and communication are so consistent that they give us a sense of empathy and connection. It has been a long time since I saw such an interesting animation, I got goosebumps and that hasn't happened since Sif Savery's Tales of Zale. The first episode is sensational! I'm rooting for your success and this project and I can't wait to see more.

OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS SPECTACULAR!!! By some chance this showed up for me on yt while I was taking a much needed break from college work, and this was possibly the best thing I could've seen during that break! A well crafted and excellently animated story, this is just *muah* a beautifully made short film. The characters feel quite real, it was incredibly easy to get invested in the story. Also, great job with the art style. It is difficult to create an easily animated and expressive yet natural face for a dragon, yet I think you have pulled it off excellently! I felt so sorry for poor Suith, and Rell's turnaround was both believable and completely justified. While he was totally having some childish dislike towards Su, when tested, he forgets his dislike and shows an honorable side to his character. The easier decision would have been to stand aside, and it is in his line with his young desire to be king, but he shows that he values something much deeper than getting power. It is also a good display of a morally ambiguous decision. I can see both where the king is coming from, acting for the good of the kingdom, as well as Rell, acting for the good of his sister and against unjust law. That makes this conflict all the more tragic, and tragically, in trying to end one of his children, the king looses both of them. It is such a compelling story, especially from that of a not-too-well known creator! I hope this becomes another one of the staples of indie animation. Last but not least, I found that hug at the end a bit cathartic. I think creating a story that makes someone feel an array of things like such is a sign of a great story. You've created a good thing, and I applaud it. 👏❤If it seems like I am writing a lot, that's because I have spent almost the whole day writing essays and writing is all I know how to do now lmao.
I love this concept so much! The characters are so interesting and expressive, and the twist with the father trying to murder the sister was so unpredictable! I really hope this has more parts to it :3

His "change" was him desperately trying to justify keeping her alive to his father because while he wanted to be king, he never wanted to lose his sister.
The second believing his sister was incapable (which was an excuse for why he should be king) was linked with her dying, he switched gears to remedy the contradiction of his desires and views.

I can't overstate how insanely impressed I am with the quality of animation as well as the neat, concise way you've told the story in the short amount of time you had! I'm absolutely hooked and I really hope we see more. I've completely fallen in love with these characters 🥺Everyone who worked on this project should be so proud of themselves, this is absolutely gorgeous. The mix of 2D and 3D is just masterful.

Can I just say I love the 2d and 3d blending in this short? If the great story, great characters, great music weren't awesome enough, it's an especially lovely treat to see the best of both mediums in a neat and tidy package of 22 minutes that still gives room for even more adventures! Give yourself and your whole team a big pat on the back for 5 years of hard work!
This was truly a work of art with so much soul and passion that many film makers today should aspire towards. I would gladly pay for this to become a series. Everyone who played a part in making this from actors, animators, to script wrighters, everyone deserves an award for making this passion project come to life. Thank you for this experience.

How I geninuely see the first humans in the story.
"Why the heck are you in this cave."

_"And I take it you don't have any grudge against me."_
"Well, yes."

Someone has to use Rell's head-flame to cook something. Smores seem a little anochronistic, but some kind of sausage would work.
Rell and Suith will either explore the Overworld on their own while staying away from humans, if they’re still alive and prosperous 700 years later, or come across a human that eventually becomes their friend and helps guide them through this new environment to keep them away from danger. Kinda like Hiccup from HTTYD or something along those lines. I’m excited for what may happen next for these two! Would love to see them realize humans may have changed their ways in the last 700 years and had their reasons for the war. It could have been an entire misunderstanding between both sides at the time, due to some event that happened.

My primary concept is based around the fact that 700 years is quite a long time.
Basically, humanity has moved from a monarchy to a more democratic society after a series of revolutions. The seat of power seems largely indifferent to dragons, but sees the action of supporting them as a method to boost their own fame and popularity.
There is still a faction of human supremacists (called the "Fanatics"), while they make up a very small amount of the political structure, they are make a significant part of the civillan populace with members having a ranging desire to make their effect known.
While this would initally not be a problem, those 700 years has also brought on a whole array of changes to the art of warfare. Think somewhere in interim between WW1 and 2. Semi-automatic rifles are just starting to become a thing. As well as mechanization of the army.
And the two favorite things of the Fanatics, Flamethrowers and Chemical weapons.
Thus, these Fanatics can present a significant problem, since they see Dragons as animals at the best or literal demons at the worst.
And when "god wills it" even the most abhorrent strategies are completely acceptable.

My (Headcannon) cast mainly focuses on a cast of humans. Whom come into the picture one by one.
The Miner: The first person whom they make contact with, an honest man who makes an honest living. His ability to comfort those around him is key in dire times.
The Officer: A man of the Army, a Hero of many wars, with a significant number of troops under his command. What are human horrors to Rell and Suith, are just a footnote on a long list for him.
The Scholar: A man of science, and a man of logic. Inventor, Tinkerer, and Teacher, his inventions are worth far less that his advice.
Yes, I though all this up, for a series that hasn't even begun yet.

Oh my I did not expect the King to try to kill his daughter nor did I expect the brother to kill the King because I always thought he hated her.
Did you notice how in the introduction, he comes to save her and he says "She can take care of herself?" and then they fight together?

I enjoyed the consistancy of Suiths emotions having influence over her electrical power. From small startled bits, to the moderate stage fright, and extreme amounts of distress from nearly drowning. The electical torrent so big the guards noticing it from the distance. The poor girl...

I saw the teaser for this, and now with it out I must say I'm incredibly impressed. The voice acting, subtle movements, editing, the mix of visual 2D and 3D and everything together came out absolutely incredible. Loved every second of this!! I really enjoyed the dynamic between the siblings and the king. Some of the narrative felt a little rough at times but the thread of the story was never lost and there was a lot of awesome moments. I need more.
This short film was excellent and incredibly immersive right from the beginning to end! The characters were given great personalities and progressing arcs, especially Rell. The animation style also made the world feel unique and atmospheric! The only negative fact about this is that it wasn’t long enough, because now I want more! A 10/10 rating for such a fun short film. Hope to see more in the future! Keep up the great work!

This is a solid start to a great series! I love dragons and I really want to see this go further. It would be interesting to watch how Suith and Rel grow together and perhaps maybe take the throne one day in the dragon land or reunite the humans and dragons

@@FREGFAT flawed tho and like me and my friends argue that the fail at the end of the catacombs is the more logical outcome, arguably Spyro physically wouldn’t have been able to pull Cynder out of the golems hand and that’s just plot armor and bad writing ( with evidence throughout the trilogy for our positions XD) but yeah flawed but fun and yes arguably technically malefor wins naturally and would have won all the way back at the catacombs easily XD

I like the little details you put into the start with Rell’s game him rescuing his sister but also having her be capable shows how he actually feels in that he does care for her despite his jealousy and frustration.
The animation quality is breathtaking, each frame is a visual masterpiece. The plot is built excellently, with unexpected details that will surprise you. The script is sharp and the actors bring unparalleled depth to their roles. Accompanied by a mesmerizing soundtrack, this is more than just a movie-it's an unforgettable experience. Rell still loves his sister more than he wants to be king.
I was expecting that since it had been 700 years since the humans had banished the dragons underground that Rell and Suith would find a modern human society once they got above ground, and maybe since it had been so long that the humans had forgotten about them and the dragons were just legends to them . This was amazing I really hope they make a part 2.
The animation is simply beautiful! Despite its simplicity, it is perfect, and you can see the effort that went into making it incredibly vivid and full of details. The characters and their characteristics are very original, and the story and communication are so consistent that they give us a sense of empathy and connection. It has been a long time since I saw such an interesting animation, I got goosebumps and that hasn't happened since Sif Savery's Tales of Zale. The first episode is sensational! I'm rooting for your success and this project and I can't wait to see more.

OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS SPECTACULAR!!! By some chance this showed up for me on yt while I was taking a much needed break from college work, and this was possibly the best thing I could've seen during that break! A well crafted and excellently animated story, this is just *muah* a beautifully made short film. The characters feel quite real, it was incredibly easy to get invested in the story. Also, great job with the art style. It is difficult to create an easily animated and expressive yet natural face for a dragon, yet I think you have pulled it off excellently!
I felt so sorry for poor Suith, and Rell's turnaround was both believable and completely justified. While he was totally having some childish dislike towards Su, when tested, he forgets his dislike and shows an honorable side to his character. The easier decision would have been to stand aside, and it is in his line with his young desire to be king, but he shows that he values something much deeper than getting power. It is also a good display of a morally ambiguous decision. I can see both where the king is coming from, acting for the good of the kingdom, as well as Rell, acting for the good of his sister and against unjust law. That makes this conflict all the more tragic, and tragically, in trying to end one of his children, the king looses both of them. It is such a compelling story, especially from that of a not-too-well known creator! I hope this becomes another one of the staples of indie animation.
Last but not least, I found that hug at the end a bit cathartic. I think creating a story that makes someone feel an array of things like such is a sign of a great story. You've created a good thing, and I applaud it. 👏❤If it seems like I am writing a lot, that's because I have spent almost the whole day writing essays and writing is all I know how to do now lmao.
