Hi, thanks for the video - don’t know how you managed to move those tiles- I can never get them to budge!! What soffit lights did you use out of interest?
When lifting the tiles, do you simply remove a peg or nail and slide back? Always nice to know you could do that as would not have thought of that option. Thanks
I watched a BT engineer running a cable on a soffit that height yesterday - you could actually touch the soffit standing on your tip toes (this is true!!). He drilled a hole at the bottom of the wall and fixed an eye bolt and then tied the ladder into the bolt. He had a hard hat, high viz vest on and put barriers round the bottom of the ladder (in my 80 year old neighbour's drive). You couldn't make it up!!
That's company policy mate, way over the top but they do it because it's not worth risking their losing their job over not complying with company rules.
Safety first. May seem excessive but credit to the guy, he was taking precautions. Better than an incident and insurance not paying out due to negligence.
Nice job Mike 👍 .... And don't worry, 'elf & safety' never applies to apprentices as you just use the excuse 'they never listen to a word I say - youth of today - they know everything' 😉 😅 ..... Anyway what downlights did you use in the soffits? I've use Collingwood H2 Lite's in the past ... but always up for using something different.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

The front of my own house is very similar and I had to lift the bottom row of tiles to get cables through for a camera and soffit downlights.
What lights did you use for the soffits?
For that first jump you could have had a holesaw on a extender. And make a hole in that timber.
