My Astra GTC 2011's screen on for the CD400 started to flicker (the infotainment display). I can confirm that if you only replace the screen, it doesn't need reprograming, just a straight swap (found a new one for a tenner on ebay). If you change the CD400, obviously you'll need a reprogram (or this video). Nice one.
well i have both of my radios i just bought one that had 400 plus and whould it be possible to just change the chip then? original was cd 400 2012 and the other one i bought is 2013 cd 400 plus
Hello, great video. I’ve sent you a email, about possibly repairing my friends mums, replacement cd600 locked radio, in her Vauxhall Mokka, I’m presuming it’s a similar process. Dave.
Hello, I want to purchase this device and perform this process, but I can say my soldering ability is zero. I wonder if I can read the chip on the board with the clamp device on it, or is it necessary to remove the chip?
What max heat setting should one use on the heat gun to ensure no damage to chip will occur? Also, can 8-pin clips be used instead of removing it from the board? Thank you for the video.
Hello , you know how to decode eprom for radio blocked , it’s a Phillips from 98 for bmw , I have this program I followed TH-cam videos but I can unblock it , can you help me
Excellent skilled work. Would it not be possible just to swap the boards with a replacement unit, assuming the original fault wasn't on this board? I have a faulty display (Astra) do you know if the display is unique to the car/radio or will a simple replacement work? Thank you.
Hey, I changed the vin on rear liftgate module on mercedes GL, it wrote back fine, but it still has that VIN mismatch error. Is that a permament error that need to be removed some other way then with a scanner tool? I use Foxwell i70 Pro.
Wow interesting video, have heard about eeprom on radios but never seen it. Quick question theres Lexus Es350 2010 navigation radio touch screen and cd compartment is not working, but the radio is working via the steering buttons. Do you think the eeprom might be the problem?
This radio doesn’t have your usual passcode to unlock it ... it’s married to the car by the vin number therefore if you buy a second hand one it doesn’t work until the vin data is corrected 👍👍👍 ... some ECU’s work the same
HI Man, nice work. Do your think is possible to Programm a nav 950 for a opel Mokka - atm i have a cd600 intellilink- the NAV has no VIN set. But Opel doesn’t want me to upgrade to NAV - technical its no problem - but didnt get gehe nav paired to my car - any thoughts about that?
@@CarsExposed Thank you for your instant answer. Want to test it? I could send you the device und you can try to Programm the VIN (no VIN programmed atm) or you could test it at your self with a Mokka or Meriva 2
You applied too much heat with wide nossle which may easily destroy the chip, didn't heat up the PCB and applied way too much flux which will cause components to corrode over time. Also, you can not just change VIN number without calculating and also writing a new checksum which is located few bytes after VIN

How do we program the slm x prog 5.55 device and winbord 25Q32 integrated?
What max heat setting should one use on the heat gun to ensure no damage to chip will occur? Also, can 8-pin clips be used instead of removing it from the board? Thank you for the video.

i doubt it bud ... faulty unit in my opinion 👍
@@CarsExposed thanks....
Please tell me whay you changed the VIN number
And is it the same method with automotive ECU

Can you remove the eprom from the old stereo and solder it to the new stereo for it to work also?
Theoretically yes but To be completely honest I haven’t tried just swapping the eeprom before because I never had the original radio ...
I'd guess you'd have to ensure the firmware on the destination radio was expecting the same layout of bytes in the source eeprom.

I’m sorry man but I’m not familiar with this radio I haven’t worked with it yet

Do you so out side work have same radio that needs Vin numbers changed on the same chip
Yeah I can do it for you no problem , you just have to send me the radio with a return postage 👍👍👍
@@CarsExposed sorry mate how do I send it to you. And how much is it sorry took so long to reply been away
All so. I took. The board out so. I can just send you that. But let me know how to send it to you
Do you have an email?
@@CarsExposed yes will. Send it to you

Nice job 👍 you make it look easy, I don't think your dog was impressed though
😂😂😂😂 Thanks mate ... The cheeky bugger was snoring so loud 👍👍👍👍

You don't need to remove the eeprom on the cd400 unit to change the vin.
Just my preference bud sometimes you get messed up reading being on the board 👍👍👍 cheers
