    I would take 1/16” off each of the spacers. Won’t cause any problems. Then you have a full 3/16” less of tension when trying to reassemble.

      I think you're right! Next time I have it apart I'm grinding the one on the right down for sure. Maybe some on left if needed. I want that rear sprocket as far right as possible in case I do a TAV conversion, but then again, can use washers to play around with spacing anyways.

    They sale a syringe at the parts store in the grease section that you can stick on the end of your grease gun and stick the syringe between the ball bearings and it'll spread the grease in between those bearings perfectly.

    If you pull the bearings out. Remove the inner seals then you can install a grease fitting on the axle to keep it lubricated.

      "The huge sprocket angle is what causes the loose tight issue not the shocks they are always compressed when riding there no tight loose issues with 36 to 50 sprockets "
      Check this vid at 8m 16s: th-cam.com/video/_OP7e2Or_Ug/w-d-xo.html
      You're not the first and you won't be the last to think that. I'm not picking on you specifically, and I appreciate all of your comments! This response is for anyone who is interested.
      Shocks aren't always compressed when riding, they go up and down while riding, a lot.
      The distance between swing arm pivot and front sprocket is the main problem. If they were lined up, (front sprocket in line with swingarm pivot looking from side of side of bike) there would be no problem at all, it's simple geometry.
      The longer shocks add to the problem, causing swingarm to travel even farther down away from frame when fully extended, making chain even MORE loose when suspension is fully extended (like when you are in the air, after hitting a jump). When you set chain tension with swingarm extended, it BINDS up when suspension is compressed.
      Another way to combat this if using longer shocks with more travel than stock would be to raise the shock mounts. That would not completely fix this fundamental geometry problem, but it would help somewhat at the extremes of swingarm travel.
      Size of rear sprocket doesn't matter that much if at all. This problem will happen regardless of rear sprocket size. It's the angle of swingarm in relation to front sprocket that's the issue. That causes the distance between front and rear sprocket to CHANGE while swingarm travels up and down, lengthening the distance when swingarm goes up (until it passes the center point of the arc path), and shortening the distance when swingarm is extended. It's the same sort of thing that causes bump steer on incorrectly designed or heavily compromised front suspension geometry. It's a fundamental geometric misalignment.
      So stock bike has less of this problem than bike modified with longer shocks, but the problem is still very much there on a stock bike with stock chain length, stock sprockets, and stock shocks. The problem is just compounded and worse with longer shocks. You just can't ignore it anymore with longer shocks, things will break quicker.
      Most people just do nothing, and set the chain tension way too tight while swingarm is fully extended (at rest). Then their chain constantly derails and ends up breaking, their wheel bearings and jackshaft bearings constantly get destroyed, and their rear suspension is limited and not working correctly because the chain tension becomes a "bump stop" on the rear suspension as suspension compresses. Chain tightens as swingarm travels upward- that is the problem, but it's pretty bad on this bike.
      Even the big channels like Cars and Cameras, Reg Beard's Garage, and Gopowersports don't seem to get it yet. BTW I love their content.. it's awesome, and I don't have a bad word to say about any of them. I've learned way more from them then they'll ever learn from me.
      BUT... they all constantly throw chains and break chains / destroy jackshaft bearings on their MB200-2 / Hurricane builds. Even when they build a bike to go race for competition, the bike is usually broken and stopped because of broken chains and chains coming off. It's chain tension binding up at top of swingarm travel that breaks things. It's an immovable object (chain tension) against an unrelenting force (swingarm travel). Something is going to break.
      But whoever designed this frame also didn't understand it, or else they did but were constrained by packaging issues or some other reason I haven't thought of yet, and did it on purpose.
      Either way I knew about this issue years before I bought the bike. It's the main reason I didn't buy one sooner and one of the main problems with this bike IMHO. I almost didn't even buy the bike because of this problem.
      I gave a visual demonstration of the problem in that vid link above and have completely fixed it with a chain tensioner. I did not discover this issue, it's a known issue. In general that's why some bikes need tensioners and some do not.

    Not all greases are compatible with all other greases. When non compatible greases are mixed togeather they create acids ect and you are most likely doing more harm than good….however if you were able to get all the old grease out and replace it with a better grease , then you are on to something.

    • @bwxmoto
      @bwxmoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I realize that but I've experimented with different greases and doing this is way better than not doing anything for these cheap bearings. The synthetic grease doesn't seem to interact with the tiny amount of vaseline they put in these.
      If it doesn't work, I'll just change them out, which I would have to do to get the old grease out anyways. And the way I remove bearings destroys them so that's pointless.
      I guess you could take the seals off and blow the grease out with air and spray some solvent in there to dissolve the grease but that's a lot of work for a $2 part on a cheap chinese mini bike when just squirting grease in there does the job.
      Not really a hard job changing them out either though.

    You should be able to make the sprocket side spacer smaller? You are just spreading the swing arm and not really changing sprocket to driven sprocket alignment. I would take off 1/8" or better yet have a machine shop take off 1/8".
    Remember when you did the uphill race between the bikes? Would be interesting to see what the MB200 does. A heavier 196 bike versus the lighter 200U with a 212. Especially if the 200U still has the 9/60 gearing. In theory the 200U should do the hill quicker with more cc's and less weight.

      @@bwxmoto ya man I’m pumped. I’ve been looking for awhile. I was about to buy a ton of washers and try to get everything sorted then measure the thickness of the washers and have a shop cut me some spacers. And like you said these may not work but it’s closer than what I got lol

    I would have removed the swing arm and used a bottle jack to spread the tubes and not the mounting tabs.

      Could have but just tried something with what I had around at the time. I'd rather shave down spacers so it fits rather than try to bend those tubes again anyways though. Hopefully next time i have rear wheel off that will fix it.

    Man that looked like a real PITA. I just got my 1st mini bike this week which is a Coleman MB200 since all the trail masters are.out of stock right now and tied up in transit per all the dealers. I'm wondering how this new incoming batch is going to be QC wise. When demand is high QC goes.down the drain. I am okay with a wrench but not nearly as savvy as you or the other big mini bike channels and I'd hate to end up with something that's way over my head.

    • @bwxmoto
      @bwxmoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll be fine, trust me. I think one spacer was supposed be be smaller on this bike or something. It's actually highly unusual that something like that happens, and I have 7 bikes now.. And actually the fix is pretty easy if you have a grinder or a file.
      I need to file down a spacer, maybe two. It's a pain, but easy. I probably should have done it before wedging it back together but I just wanted to get that step done for the day.
      The great thing about these mini bikes is that they are so simple and easy to work on.. most of the time anyways! LOL

      I’m in NE PA and my property is a lot of hills. The RB200 I have now is a 53 tooth rear and can get up them but I can hear and feel the clutch straining. I’m hoping the CVT will be better and already figured on a 53 to 62 tooth rear sprocket at the very least.

    I'm running a 54 sprocket with no chain tensioner but I'm also running 11.5 shocks instead of 12

    • @bwxmoto
      @bwxmoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wonder what happens if you take shocks off and see how tight the chain gets when you let swing-arm travel upwards? People always say they destroy their bearings, I think that’s one reason why.

    • @bwxmoto
      @bwxmoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the shorter the better though.. I'd like to find some 10" or maybe 10.5" shocks that have 2" or more of travel if they make such a thing. But also can't be too stiff. I see a lot of those shocks have about twice the spring-rate of these.

      @@Kevinmcinnis30679 Nice! Are they bigger around than these? I was concerned about the shocks with larger around springs interfering with my 60 tooth. I'm about 200 lbs hopefully to be closer to 180 soon so these should be stiff enough, but I'd like slightly shorter ones and maybe ones with closer to 3" travel, these are only 2". Still better than stock though.
