- In this Deltarune mod, I have a crazy weapon that can KILL enemies. Noelle may be able to freeze enemies, but with a lethal weapon that's able to do crazy amounts of damage, it makes for a playthrough of Deltarune like you've never seen before!

Oh yeah, I just wanted to make it clear that this is technically a modified version of the current Twisted Sword that's in the game files. The main differences are it has a lot more damage than normal because I assume Kris would be much stronger at the end of a weird route similar to Frisk/Chara at the end of genocide, and the current version of the Twisted Sword in the game files doesn't outright kill enemies, but the fact that it has "Trance" always made me assume that it will (thus why it does so in this mod). The Twisted Sword will definitely be extremely strong when we find it in-game but wanted to clear up any confusion that the version you see here isn't exactly alike. There are other mods present here aside from the stats changes, as even if the Twisted Sword did have attack this high, it still wouldn't be able to kill anything.

Yeah, this guy modified everything needed because technically, K round really IS unkillable, and if you kill Lancer, you get softlocked.
The reason Lancer doesn't die in the Susie v. Lancer fight is because if you actually DO (theoretically) deplete his HP, you'll get softlocked.
Also Spamton's [Bluelight Specil] caps all damage at 10 (excluding Noelle's attacks I assume) so that's why he survived.
This also reminds me a lot of the Undertale mod with the gun, which also did an absurd amount of damage.

Well... You can't even craft it during the weird route since you NEED the thorn ring to craft it and a pure crystal which location to obtain is unknown today.
And probably we can have it with the shadow crystals in the future chapters
In aborted Snowgrave, you can get the thorn ring and have it.
If you take both shadow crystals from killing both Jevil, and Spamton Neo, you can talk to Seam, whom will talk to you about it, and nothing else happens. The pure crystal cannot be obtained.
Probably need to get all of the Shadow Crystals.
It will probably be in future chapters.
I read the description of the pure crystal somewhere as saying something like "a crystal purified by the cat" so you probably get Seam to purify a dark crystal at some point

To be fair in genocide we got the real knife which was useless against the last boss since he dodged every attack

Interestingly, the "trance" effect has a downward arrow, implying that while Kris has that equiped they are less susceptible to the player's manipulation. Now, the fact that they do such massive amounts of damage when they should theoretically be able to resist the player's input more is.... Concerning, to say the least.

I wonder if Kris is gonna pull a Chara and literally cut us off from the world of Deltarune? Information gathered from within Undertale’s code suggests that Toby Fox wanted the game to delete itself at the end of a Genocide Route, but gave up on it after not being able to get it to work. Times have changed, though. Maybe Toby Fox might have learned a thing or two since then…

I love how Lancer dies and then his ghost is just immortal, and also how Jevil calls being stabbed once with the force of a meteorite ‘fun’ has interesting implications.

twisted sword did 10 damage to spamton neo when he activated bluelight specil because his defense doesn’t rise, it just caps the damage per hit you can deal at 10, and even if you could deal more damage he can’t go below 6% of his health

Actually we could see the death scene of enemies previously. If you abort the weird route at Berdly fight, then go back to touch the cheese and cast snowgrave at the fight against mice, the mice will show how darkners dies (body turns red and disintegrate)
It is quite interesting that Toby made a death animation for Susie, does this means Susie may die in the future?
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the red dust effect is just applied to the enemy sprite. Not a custom sprite entirely. (I’m not 8 months late, you’re 8 months early)

1:40 Only his bike was there, lancer was slapped off so fast he flew off screen in an instant and bounced all the way back to the castle for his pop to get him another flaming bike for later...
i just realized something, the twisted sword is one of kris's weapons, but you cant get it yet, it's also obvious it's a snowgrave weapon, so it will most likely be a fatal weapon, which leads me to think... will we have to "snowgrave" our team members? will we have to kill susie, and possibly ralsei? which would cause us to HAVE to create the twisted sword because there will be no more people left in your team, which would also make me think you're gonna have to kill noelle somehow to be able to take her thorn ring, it will also probably be at the very end of the game, so you'll be all alone in chapter 7.
B-but, the Twisted Sword *doesn't* increase your magic, and it only boosts your attack by 16. And it definitely doesn't kill enemies. (Trust me, I tried).
Turns out the enemies don't "die" when they run out of HP, they need to have a special condition called "fatal." Which... I didn't know anything about until the ghost cheese video sent me down the weirdest rabbithole.

Mystic Slime's comment already clears up some things, but I wanted to mention some smaller details.
The Twisted Sword normally doesn't increase Magic, it normally only increases Attack by 16.
Some enemies use a different animation when you defeat them like K. Round, Susie, and Lancer (except in the Basement fight), so hitting them with a "fatal" attack wouldn't play the death animation.
Lancer in the Basement fight isn't normally invincible, but ending that fight without the actual cutscene teleports Kris inside a wall of the room to the left, where you would be softlocked.
7:40 lancer probably had (extremely) increased stats because normally if you get Susie to use a rude buster or red buster each turn lancer runs away and you get stuck inside the wall
That was truly brutal. In my head, the Twisted Sword resembles Demise's Sword only far more bloodstained.

There was some one who tested snowgrave on all enemies, and most die a similar way to this (except Berdly in the alley).
I also like to think there are multiple Lancers, filling for each other once they die.
I think it would be interesting if later on in weird route we took the twisted sword (or something like it) back to chapter 1 so you could kill everyone. Just a thought.
Something tells me that, were there to be an actual alternative ending to the game, it likely would require a bunch of niche and arguably hidden game states (Ex. Thorn Ring without Noelle killing Berdly, and other states like this in future chapters) to craft items like the Twisted Sword in order to properly defeat a final boss, and achieve that alternative ending.
I wanted to see if the normal attack counted as "snowgrave" and Berdly just freezes
It was becoming called "Deltabuster" in final chapter, we got a massive damage to Roaring Titans (Chapter 7).
It truly is "unlimited power!"
Also it's interesting that the only way (so far) to possibly get that is by aborting Snowgrave and keeping the ThornRing since to me the TwistedSword is a weapon that has "Weird Route" potential
The way neo defence mode works is it instantly puts its damage to 10
Btw the fact that the twisted sword increases magic either means that kris would get magic or he would be able to let someone else equip it or it’s just Toby fox messing with detaminers

Theory: the 4(technically 6) that survived are the titans coming during the roaring.
Fun fact: twisted swords exist in real life and are referred to as Kris. Like how two handed double edged sword is a claymore. It’s a fun pun.
I hope this item is essentially going to be used to complete the other weird routes in future chapters, or maybe it will be used for the final chapter, similar to how in Undertale you don't get the real knife until the final area in the genocide route

You need the thorn ring to craft it which means this can only be crafted on an aborted weird route (redemption), and plus, the trance symbol is a down arrow instead of an up one, meaning Kris has *more* agency with the twisted sword.
Edit: "Supposedly has massive amounts of power" It's +16 to atk... not that big of a deal, the everybody weapon is much better (+12 atk, +6 df, +6 mg). This is just a case of people placing MUCH more importance and power on certain items than they have, and repurposing items to have a more sinister purpose that they aren't supposed to have

Ok, so here's an idea since chapter 3 takes place in Kris's house. The twisted sword is for a kris weird route in chapter 3 or its a chapter 7 item. Either way whatever it's used for seems intended to murder a lot of people.
what's ironic is that if you could obtain the twisted sword at the end of the snowgrave route, there wouldn't be anyone to kill with it because they would all be frozen solid.
If I know one thing, adding 'twisted' as an adjective to ANY weapon makes it incredibly powerful. See: Twisted Tea, if you know you know

10:20 if I'm correct, I believe jevil has a total of 3500 health, which for normal terms is ALOT, but you have the twisted sword, which deals, I would assume at weakest, a whopping 1 million damage, if not then close to 1 million at about 980K or a tad bit more.
and no boss in this game really seems to go above 4000 hp, not even spamton so no matter how weak, jevil is insta killed, but of course, as he would say
"THIS BODY CANNOT BE KILLED!"
So of course, he didn't disentagrate.
Unironically Spamton Neo only taking 10 damage in his defense from the Twisted Sword form adds even more salt to Mettaton Neo's wounds

@@LoxSix Actually even if you did modify the attack stat, it still wouldn't do lethal damage, you need to change the enemy's response to losing the last of it's HP, which wasn't implementable in chapter 1, and was implemented via the "fatal" condition in chapter 2.

probaly the purecrystal is when you defeat all secret bosses and then seam give it to you. Now thinking about that sword, maybe in the final you can really make a genocide or pacifist route

actually i’m pretty sure that the “ability to actually kill” a monster is something that happens when an attack deals “fatal” damage to an enemy, probably something to be later implemented properly considering nothing thats actually capable of getting legitimately can do fatal damage

You don't need the thorn ring to freeze burger. That's the animation that plays when he takes lethal damage, so he'd freeze over instead of dusting.
