I mean, I used to make sounds inhaling like this as a kid. Had I known you could make money off of it I never would have stopped.
So many claim to have an open mind with music, but this lady truly embraces and respects music. This isn't what I listen to, but watching her embrace it is spectacular.

To me, it sounds like an inhale. When I inhale, I can make that sound. It has a very specific tone compared to the exhales growls, which are warm and round. You can also hear her stop and try to find it again. I'm pretty sure that's what's going on. I can't exhale growl yet, but the inhales come easy

I think it's safe to say Elizabeth is one of the coolest people out there!
I’ve done metal vocals for 18 years and that made me feel inadequate lol It is mind blowing how quickly you picked that up with basically perfect tone.
It was definitely an inward fry which imo is a little easier for a beginner to grasp, but even still it took me a while to getting that technique to sound cool, and still only something I’d do on occasion since the inhale is kinda hard on your chords
This is one of the wholesome "opposites attract" kind of relationships. Like Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg. They may have an outward appearance as polar opposites, being a classically trained singer and vocal coach and then a deathcore heavy vocalist, but you can see they both have such kind souls, and they work so well together.
Exactly right!! Polar opposites that see each others talent as equal to their own and building off of that!!!
a vocal coach who truly understands and knows their shit will give props to a good metal vocalist because they understand what goes into making those kinds of sounds, they understand the skill it takes to do what they do without completely decimating their voice, so it's really no surprise. It's more telling of a "vocal couch" that condemns every metal vocalist, telling as in telling everyone they don't actually know shit lmfao

Well shes a trained classical opera singer whos done many shows in different languages for years so yeah she has control of her diaphragm.
Cause it's inhale and they're very easy to make sound beastly

@bruh That's not a inhale scream though that's a false fold growl inhale is much higher pitched could be wrong but I've never heard a low inhale except for bass singers like Tomi P who uses inhale to get to like A0
@@keith221191 waking the cadaver is a prime example of similar inhales. Will does exhale here, she does inhales. Inhales can be very high or very low, never the less they're always harmful to a degree.
And Will does not do falsecord, it's fry distortion created by both falsefolds and vocal folds at the same time

@@TheCharismaticVoice imagine using this technique in an Opera. Will there ever be a composer willing to include this style? Would there be any “classic” operas suited for this?
I think it would be impossible. Opera doesn't typically use microphones, so there wouldn't be enough volume with these harsh vocals to sing over an orchestra. But would be cool!

I love this! Her love of music, period, is infectious. But to see the way Elizabeth, operatic singer, so sweet and innocent looking, has really embraced rock in general, and metal/death core in particular, is just so joyous! Can us metal heads just take a moment to appreciate the fact that an Opera singer is legitimately intrigued and shows an interest in harsh vocals? (Ive seen damn near every video that includes harsh vocals and i love them all) I feel like the death metal genre’s still go unappreciated because others think it’s horrible and talentless screaming and mashed up chords.
