  • Restoring a $200 ($300 Canadian Dollars) Prusa 3D Printer. This was a nice weekend project and has expanded my 3D Printing capabilities. I couldn't figure out how to get the text working in some parts so excuse the "on the screens". But really, follow me on Instagram @aaronscreation

Well done giving a really good machine a second lease of life!!! My first printer was a Mk2 clone given to me by a friend and while learning the 3D printing magic, printed parts for another two Mk2 clones but heavily modified for larger print volume. I love the simplicity of these printers, as the last one I've built from scratch in four days.

Just dusted off my old mk2 and ran into the same sensor failure. You probably just saved me a bunch of time! Thank you (:

Great video Aaron! I just bought a $150 Prusa and I'll be doing some repair to get it in a working state, thanks for the inspiration.

That's awesome! I hope some of things I faced in my printer can be of use to you! 😀
      Edit: Best of luck!!

I did exactly what you did and bought an MK2 on off eBay. The pinda probe gauge is a great idea and I will use it. Mine came damaged in shipment. Got on GetHub and printed replacement parts. It is up and running. I noticed you did not use a glue stick. What was your magic for bed adherence? To your point the M2, 3, 3s and 3s+ are great printers. After my first MK3S+ build I bought another MK3S+ assembled. Then I bought another MK3 off eBay yesterday. They are so fixable. Great and valuable video.

I haven’t needed glue stick but there are sheets that have been through a lot of prints that lost it’s ability to adhere. In that case use a glue stick.

Hey I know its been a while since you posted this video but I recently bought a MK2s that had a fried mainboard. The seller shipped it to me in just a cardboard box and no packing material and I am pretty positive it skewed something and my bed doesn't run orthogonal to the print head. I am not sure what I need to do to fix this, I have thought about just buying the bear upgrade frame but I would like to not spend on it any more than I have and I'm pretty sure I don't need to to get it back running square.
I put a duet 3 mini board in it and its fantastic besides not printing square.

Source another board would be the easiest option. I’m pretty confident that AliExpress sells them. I know that Prusa doesn’t support the MK2 anymore.

I know it’s a bit late, but I am being offered a I3 mk2 for 60€. It has a bed thermal runaway error but otherwise works. Is it much better than the ender 3 pro?

      60 euro for a Prusa? That’s a steal!

A fellow Redditor wrote a extremely insightful list of upgrades for the MK2. I will be slowly following that list and checking items off, if you have a MK2 too, I would recommend taking a look!

Nice, I offer you searching fysetc mk3s printer. Its an almost identical clone.

Yeah, but buying a Prusa supports the research and development of new products and 3D Printing technology. I am waiting for the Prusa XL, I will be buying one the second it comes out!

6:07 does not look astonishing to me, My ender 3 prints better than that.
