Mission: Impossible - Philippines Jersey Hunt 🇵🇭
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 30 มิ.ย. 2024
- I went deep into Manila's biggest market, known as Divisoria. My mission was to find a Philippines national football jersey to add to my collection of sports shirts.
I found pictures of it online, so I knew what to look for, but I also knew it was going to be a challenge. Football isn't a popular sport at all in the Philippines, so even in the biggest market in the country, it wouldn't be easy to find.
What was easier to find was some local Filipino snacks. I found a lady selling Pichi-pichi, a sweet and chewy Filipino dessert. I thought they were made with rice flour, as the texture was like a Japanese mochi, but they're actually made from steamed cassava flour.
Just like in the previous vlog, I had dessert and then I went and ate a proper meal. It's not the order I planned to eat things but I just eat what I discover and looks good at the time.
I was actually looking for some Pares, which is some kind of stewed beef, but the local kids showed me to a vendor selling something called Buto-buto, which is a beef soup. I'd never heard of it before but it was a lucky discovery, as it was tasty, filling and cheap. I'd definitely like to eat that Filipino street food again.
The next day I continued the vlog, and the football jersey hunt. This time not in the biggest market, but the biggest mall - Mall of Asia. It turned out not to be the place to find it, but I had a backup plan, which was to attend a local football match and buy a jersey there.
So I booked a Grab Car on the Grab app and headed for the Rizal Stadium to watch ADT (Azkals Development Team.)

What an incredible and huge market area Divisoria is. You can buy almost anything there. ALMOST anything. 😆
Definitely.
You can buy everything in Divisoria...but an Azkal shirt. (Filipino football team)
Divi is where the commoners go. It's chaotic but exciting. Mission impossible it is because that area is huge with lots of stalls and shops. All the rest of the metropolis is different though.
We have a football team (Azkals) but filipino football fans don't exist. So there you go
Your using your backpack the wrong way, you should wear that on front so your safe from pickpocket.
Thanks Dale for buying those kids a meal, that was really nice of u
Your welcome always babe
They literally asked for it😂 he didn't do it out of free will

They seemed really hungry
Those two lads will remember that for the rest of their lives no doubt about it. The excitement they shared with eachother when you said yes was infectious. Keep up the great vids dale, very much appreciate them!!
I thought the same thing. Half way into the meal when he looked over to him saying “your name Dale?”, making sure he remembered his name 🥰 melted my heart. ❤
No, Dale, you have not completely failed, you have educated us by showing your very strong efforts in finding that jersey and at the same time giving an understanding that the Philippines is totally different in terms of football, unlike other countries which are "crazy" for football.
we do basketball in the philippines.. no boring ass soccer here.
That is no pares, youre eating beef noodle soup… called mami… wrong food stall
@@stebopignsoccer ? 😂 ,do you called play ball with foot a "soccer " 😅 , it's football the biggest sport in the world
@@YOUKNOWlMHEREIt's honestly not that popular in the US either. For example here only 7% of Americans consider themselves an avid fan of soccer overall, whereas 32% of Americans are avid fans of the NFL alone. 🤷
It is growing in popularity though. We'll see what happens in the future.
I know there's confusion because of the term "soccer" but it's easier than saying American football and European football. Most Americans have a different image that comes to mind with the term football so I think it must have been some marketing decision to change the name here in the states.
Bro every youtuber finding gilas shirt while dale fighting football shirt which very underated in the philippines
At 30:01 when the guy says "I think my bleeding is nose", it's a reference to a common joke in the Philippines wherein if a Pinoy is talking to someone who is speaking too much english, it'll make "his nose bleed" from all the english haha

Unlike the others nation in SE Asia, football is not the most popular sport in PH, basketball is. But never expect the struggle is real to get even the jersey!
Great adventure Dale as always!
He totally should’ve gotten a regular t-shirt with Philippines fútbol shirt from those guys who were doing custom. Not a Jersey but t-shirt would still look nice

I've never really been into travel vlogs, but you are so incredibly entertaining, I love when your videos pop up

Always look forward to the videos Dale, so entertaining. Judging by the locals there speaking English with US accents you'd be better off asking for a SOCCER shirt. It's got to be said, you did all you could to get one. Can't wait for the next cracking video. Greetings from that lesser country, England.
That mall is very clean & no scams. Love it ! "Mantap" !

@@TheOnlyTruthTalker That's true, it's unfortunate but it is what it is. Filipinos are trying their best to get themselves out of these situations, but I blame the corrupt politicians. The "No spitting" sign is meant for the mainland chinese who resides in the PH who likes to spit anywhere even inside the mall 😅

Mabuhay to Philippines. BEST country to live a simple and peaceful life, friendly people, delicious food, tropical weather, lots of islands to explore and unlimited adventure. I LOVE PINOYS
As a fellow football fan, I feel your frustration man... football is often overlooked and perceived as a threat by most narrow-minded people here. Dan Palami (former manager) and the Azkals (National Team) tried to change that, but people are too stubborn to realize our potential with the sport. They even instigated a hate campaign against our National Team just because some of our players were not born here.
I’m a basketball fan so always love it and good it’s the sport in the Philippines but I’m sorry but I get pissed that joke volleyball and this beauty pageants are more popular than a real sport and something that is more than a game in football.
It’s sad too the girls team won that game a few days ago and it took these cringe fake love social media to start hyping them up. They literally waited till the last group game to start having more watch parties and of course it wa sagsinst tje best team in the group.
Filipinos just rather care for trivial things than real things like football.
Again basketball is my sport and thjnk basketball and football should both be the top guns in the country and represent the sports in this country.
I also going to respect volleyball and pagaents but I’m sorry it’s insulting Fililinosnrathwr watch that than football.
No one cares about those things around the world lmao. Basketball for sure but come on volleyball? I just feel Filipinos crap on football for some reason but hype up other things that are mediocre.
I hope the women’s team World Cup could spark some movement in football here but it’s probably going to die down again and people will disrespect a sport with passion and culture that Filipinos would love but of course it’s beauty pagaents that actually mean something lol.
THANK YOU for feeding those two young boys. They looked to be starving by the way they were eating. When he looked over to you mid way asking you to confirm your name “your name Dale?”, he will always and forever remember that moment he had with you. You are so kind and sweet. Also, another video with handsome guys 🤪😍 I wish I was traveling with you. You seem so much fun to travel with. Thanks again for yet another awesome video. God bless you Dale ❤️🫶🏼 xoxo side mention: I’m so humbled to see how nice and welcoming people are in these countries you visit. Everyone everywhere you go is always saying “hello”. Complete opposite from Americans. Americans need to learn love and respect. Lacking all of that.
