Been doing this for years, it really works well especially if your using 2500 or 200 size reels and up. You can definitely get a year or more of use out of braid this way depending on what style of fishing you do. I’m a big power fisherman for bass with heavy braid
Great tip to share! I go even further and back my spools with cheap monofilament line so I only use the amount of braided line that is required to get through a flip. Generally I am putting 75 yards of braided line on a reel. I get two reels from a 150yd spool.
Why your coastal in the box. Its my go to reel. Over my zillion and other nice reels. So palmable but holds lots of line. Magforce z brakes. Fire reel. And i put my spool on a straight stick and chuck it into my drill. Perls it right off.
@AnglerWaki as is mine. Identical but mine is right handed. I'm left-handed, so regular reels made sense for me, but I always wondered why they seemed to cater to a southpaw. Mine casts as good as my zillion even though the spool is way deeper and hold 3 times the line.
Hello Waki, what's your opinion on "leader length" for spinning reels? I usually put 7 feet of mono or fluoro leader. I use an Alberto knot and have it between my reel and last rod guide. I do occasionally get wind knots. However, I'm afraid that if I place my Alberto knot outside of the reel guides, largemouth bass will see my braid and it will decrease my strikes. What's your opinion?
I love using a long leader system, but it's primarily for fishing in covers. I'm not too concerned about visibility. With a thick, hard leader, I do chose a short leader. Overall, I'd say it all comes down to personal preference. However, when it comes to knots, the FG knot has been a game-changer for me.
Hello waki, im a shore jigging/shore casting fisherman do i have to use monofilament as backing or use electrical tape? Which is preferable and what are you tips regarding backing? Thank you.

Great. Quality line is very expensive. We should go wisely.

If it's a spinning reel, I use Mono. Maybe anything is fine but I believe many choose Mono.
@@AnglerWaki do I have to use fg knot to connect the backing to my mainline?
Great tips on how to ree use braided fishing line 🫶🏼🎣👍🏼
