Artists are known for taking an unconventional approach to their art - often introducing “non art” supplies to their work. Candie Cooper throws a curve and uses cookie tin lids for her project. She uses the Sizzix Big Shot die cutting machine to cut out metal shapes using magnetic dyes. She also cuts out leather shapes to layer with the metal and other components to create beautiful pins. Did you know aviation snips come in 3 different blade configurations? There are right hand, left hand, and straight. Each handle is colored specifically. For example, all right hand snips are red, regardless of manufacturer. I used red as an example only! I have no idea the actual colors. Using the appropriate blade shape makes your cutting tasks so much easier. There are also electric snips which are really fast and easy! 💕

What machine are you using?
I was researching the big shot and it doesn’t say in any of the descriptions that it can cut tin, so where do I get those forms the diecuts so that I can cut tin? I’m really excited about this that I loved your video !
I know it's been a while, I hope you got your answer. I use my Big Shot and thinlet dies to cut into aluminum pans and soda cans. It cuts right through, usually in one or two passes. Just be careful with the dies, as cutting metal sharpens the die itself.
Can I emboss and cut a 23 or 24 gauge Aluminum sheet? The box of biscuits seems beautiful thick.

I have tried and tried to cut out a cookie tin with my cuttlebug with no luck . Do I need a better die cutter?
Yes. The Big Shot has more pressure than the Cuttlebug.
Hi Candie, Could you please tell me what cutting base (grey one) you are using? I tried with the clear one on bottom but is not thick enough, and regular paper cutting base is too thick? H-E-L-P? Please.
It is the magnetic piece that came w/ the Big shot jewelry machine. Hope that helps.

Hot glue???? No, no, no. That won't stay together long. Use Fiebings Leather glue people. Don't cut corners. Make your pieces to last.
