I really like the lore of Toruk Makto and how it plays an important part in the Omaticaya clan's culture. When a Na'vi bonds with a Toruk and becomes the hero that will lead their clan to victory out of the Time of Great Sorrow, the Toruk also becomes an honorary member of the clan. Seeing Toruk beside the other Ikran is like a king standing beside its kind. Seeing Toruk and Jake side by side truly gives the vibe of a mighty warrior. Powerful and majestic, Toruk is truly a mount of a hero. Every great warrior has a mighty partner. It's like Hiccup and Toothless, He-Man and Battle Cat, or Turok and the Carnotaurus. Even when The Last Shadow was no longer needed when the crisis was over, I believe the between bond between them, even if it's brief, still remains
This may not be true, but to me it looked like Toruk was only after Jake and tried to kill him only. Earlier in the movie it was established that the Ikran chooses their rider by trying to kill them. At 0:29 we see it glance at Neytiri then focus back on Jake. Maybe it was foreshadowed that he would be Toruk Makto the whole time.
I have always loved! this creature since it made its appearance and was so hoping it made appeared in the 2nd movie, but oh well, we got Tulkuns which are also cool. Now I'm hoping we get to see the Toruk in part 3 (Hopefully the creator doesn't kill it off, I'll die as well)
I don't mean to be a dick but technically its not "Toruk Makto Scenes from Avatar" but would be just Toruk as Toruk makto mean rider of Toruk, even tough every scene of Toruk is with Jake so inevitably it is Toruk Makto Scenes from Avatar. Just wanted to drop some knowledge, don't mind me
Yeah, it’s explain when we see the Toruk Skull, Neytiri explain it, Toruk also mean « Last Shadow » cuz you know.. it’s the last shadow you see before dying , so Toruk makto mean Rider of the last Shadow. So yeah, that’s BAD-ASS
Haven't watch avatar in a while but it though toruk was bigger. Compared to a human yes but it's just a few times bigger then the other flying creatures (forgot what they're called)
