My first “Vr headset” was the Google Cardboard and I was astonished at how cool it was at the time. Then I tried out the oculus quest and I saw the google cardboard as a 2 year old toy.

And I found this video very helpful. I have decided that I will go with the Oculus Quest.
If your gonna get an oculus quest but you should definitely try to side load it

Once I had some money I purchased the Oculus Quest (128 GB version) and decided to get for accessories along with it all through Amazon.
1.) Controller grips. (blue)
2.) Spare visor replacements. (blue)
3.) Official One-in-one carrying case. (black with blue interior)
4.) And a nice looking prop-up display stand that holds the headset and both controllers.
All of the accessories shipped together on the same day within just a few days shortly after ordering now I'm just waiting on the Oculus Quest itself, I'm very excited! (\^o^/)

To think that I'll get an Oculus Quest in 4 days. My birthday was just yesterday and I'm very excited. I watched this to get information about other headsets, but mostly Quest.

If your trying to get an oculus quest 2 they are basically out of stock, I’m lucky my grandma found me one. Try looking online as much as possible and try going to some stores and ask them about it. I hope you find one.

I’d say it is still a glimpse into what vr is for no real cost. People aren’t just going to spend a good amount of money to try a new type of console with no real well known titles to laymen

I just bought the Oculus Go after a friend showed me his. I’m not much of a gamer, but I love visual content. It’s definitely more immersive than a flat screen like a tv, phone, or tablet.

My first experience with VR was at some car festival, in like 2015, where I used an Oculus DK1 or 2, and it was a great experience that has had me obsessed with VR since. When the Google Cardboard came out I got it to try it and I enjoyed it, making me want the HTC Vive more. In 2017 though the Oculus CV1 went on sale so I got that and have had it since. I may upgrade to a new headset in the future, but it's just really fun imo. So if anyone is kinda on the edge and wondering if VR is worth it, I would say that it is worth it, especially now with so many offerings, but if you try something cheap like the Google Cardboard, also understand that it is nowhere near the immersion that you will feel on a newer headset, so Don't let that put you off.

In my country valve index is 2000 dolars instead of 1000, and oculus quest is a 1000 dolars instead of 400, this is just great.
Order from UK Amazon or from the area where the quest is 400, it will just take longer to arrive

@@brrrkic 1st it can, and what I said was kind of an excuse also there is some warranty problems you know like I was planning to buy it from ebay but if the device does not work when I get it then I can have some issues with warranty and giving it back also if they accept getting it back then I'll have to give 60-100 dolars for shipping so it's kind of complicated and crappy.

It's been one week since I bought my first vr headset, the oculus quest. To me, 100% worth. Not only its it so nice to play without wires, but quest link is coming soon. Truly amazing.

I remember the first time I got a phone vr case, first thing I did was the rollercoaster vids, some of the most fun I’ve had in a while
Oculus Quest is THE BEST vr headset of all time!! And the reason why it WILL out sale any other headset is because Oculus/Facebook is making vr social! Tonight I took my Quest to a friends game night party, and it was instantly a hit! I let everyone try a starter experience Nat Geo Explorer/ First Steps/First Contact/Tilt Brush just to get their feet wet.. and then we played Acron for hours! Everyone was dying of laughter unlike I’ve ever seen at a social event!😆 When we finished everyone there asked me how much, and after I told them they replied “THAT’S IT?!” And said their going to buy one!
So besides all the user friendly stuff and all the incredible tech & add on features that make this headset so incredibly awesome! What sets it apart the most is it’s ability to show people what VR is all about!
nothing to ad, the Quest has changed my life to the better. I never would have thought I would be doing squats(!!) in the early morning (elven assassin), work up quite a sweaty workout with beat saber and finish it of which a very relaxing and enjoyable Tai chi session, all within 20 min and having lots of fun doing so (I am a night owl). And the list goes on checking out travel locations in advance (wanderer), meeting and playing games with strangers (rec room and co), creat new art, 3d fly into body parts and other scientific apps etc and all the fun games in-between. Everyone who tried it bought one and then their partners and so on, it is sooo easy to use and unfortunately terribly addictive:-)
God the more I hear about the quest the more I want it. I have a PSVR which is great and I love it but my main problems are the cables.
i'm excited to get my quest i'm just scared of it being front heavy

Great video! VR has restored my passion for gaming that had been dwindling for the last few years. I choose the PSVR and have been incredibly happy with it. I plan on getting a Quest as well, the only thing holding me back from a PC based HMD is the price of a strong gaming PC. I've put over 1500 hours in my headset and am still hungry for more.

I've had the original oculus rift around 2 years now and it's held up very well. I don't really play much Vr, but the oculus rift original is very good as a starting point in PC Vr. Although, I do plan on upgrading to the valve index somewhere in the future, but for now, I'll stick with my oldie but goody.

Don't count on Link being actually viable. With the amount of latency involved, it won't be a playable experience for 99.9% of everyone. Same with finger tracking, it;s a gimmick that will never be used unless in a very specific setting (just navigating in menus pretty much) that pretty much comes down to just better to use the controllers for. The Quest is amazing on it's own!

I remember when i was a bit younger, about in 2016-ish, I would get some cardboard and make a vr headset thing for my mom’s phone and I used a rubber band or something to strap the phone to the headset and strap the headset to my head

I got a Quest for Christmas and one thing that you didnt cover is that there still arent many games available on the official Oculus store and even now at the end of December the catalog of games is only growing in very small numbers

I haven’t played Pavlov but I played another shooter and it worked extremely well.
Great video and one which lead to me buying the Valve Index. However, I think it's important to mention VR sickness in these beginner guide type videos (as well as the fact it's usually something that gets better in time!). I got quite the shock after waiting several months and spending £1000 on VR to find I became physically ill as soon as I tried to play the games I was looking forward to most.

For someone playing car simulators on PC(Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Raceroom and similar) would the Oculus Quest suffice?
It's a scenario where you'd want immersion but I guess without the tracking or extra finger/hand festures considering you're sitting at your rig/desk and playing with a wheel and pedals.
Is it the best choice or there's something better?
I think the wireless capabilities of the Vives should at least be mentioned :(
My first “vr” was the one you put your phone in, but since I was younger I thought it was a really cheap vr and then found out it was just a plastic area for your phone with lenses-

Would oculus link work with a NVIDIA gtx 1650? It says on the Oculus support page that it isn't supported but others have gotten it working. Overall, would anyone here say that it would work or not? I don't mind lower performance or anything

Hi I was thinking should I rather first invest in a basic upgradable pc and the get the quest or first get the quest then later on a pc (I currently have a laptop with a ryzen 5 2500u cpu,Vega 8 gpu, 8gb ddr4 2666mhz ram a 512gb ssd) in short not able to run vr games well (I have experienced pc vr on the vive pro) will the quest be even slightly comprable

In States you can find Windows MR Headsets for silly prices like $150 even $120. If you can't afford to spend more I would say they're a good first choice.

Oculus Rift - Requires a high-end computer system, but has a few pros over the Quest. PC exclusive titles, etc etc.
Oculus Quest - Out of the box VR experience thanks to internal mobile processor and graphics. And well, you get a VR system will mobile processing power, so not the best visuals. But it's completely portable and soon-to-have PC compatibility.
Valve Index - Luxury. Best tracking solution (external sensors), high spec VR screens (144hz is buttery smooth and the resolution is superior to other VR headsets). Stuffed with features. Big con is the $999 price tag.

FlorisG I have the quest and it’s amazing because you don’t have a wire connecting you so it realy feels like you’ve left the world of reality and with the link you can turn it into the rift s any time you want I recommend the quest
@@florisg5282 If you can find a htc vive at a good price go with it, if not go with the oculus rift s I would only get the quest if i didn't have a beefy rig
@@florisg5282 at that point both would be very similar but the quest you can play without wires. Either one I am sure both will be a good experience.
index is a dream, but rn the quest looks amazing for me. You can upscale the image and wirelessly stream AAA titles from your PC!
I got in to vr from my middle school teacher who bought I set of google cardboards I have a quest now still amazed how far vr has come
After saying that you have every consumer VR headset available, you failed to mention any WMR headsets, like the HP Reverb, which has a higher resolution than any of the headsets you featured, or the Odyssey +, which is currently the one of the best values for the dollar.
I got the odyssey it's awesome $230 on samsung's website w/ controllers & batteries for controllers included, can do anything the other headsets, except the knuckles.
The index has a better res than all of what you memtioned
@@Moonshine449 The Index is 1440/1600/eye, which is the same as the Odyssey+. The Reverb is 2160x2160/eye, which is significantly higher than the Index.

Keep talking and nobody explodes is a great vr game that only requires one headset! One person uses the computer to read a bomb defusal manual, meanwhile the headset user actually has the bomb, and both must work together to defuse it! Other games like rec room, vr chat, and farpoint are also pretty good multiplayer vr games
I remember when I had the cardboard one! But now, I’ve ordered a quest and it’s on it’s way. Let’s hope it’s good! :)

You really need to look at the Odyssey plus if you think the WMR headsets are of low quality.
The only thing good about the Odyssey is the resolution. The tracking and controllers are well lacking to say the least and considering it's the price of a Oculus quest or rift s there's no way I could recommend the Odyssey or the Odyssey plus over them Oculus devices

Little did Mike know that by that time next year he would be one of the first users to get his hands on the new stand alone VR system. :p I pre ordered the Quest 2 already! The hardest part is waiting a month to get it.

@@korterkaks While looking up pet your hair back, then put on your headset from front to back.
It's actually important that you avoid getting hair between your HMD and face because hair is what causes fogging.
