Alan Partridge has been playing a fairly serious character called Steve Coogan for years now and he does it pretty well
Yeah, I like the Steve Cogan character but I feel it still needs a little work.

So many actors can often resent playing the same character for years and years, but I adore how Coogan just keeps finding stuff for Partridge, and clearly loves doing it 😂😂😂

Perhaps because Steve controls Alan, unlike say, a long running soap player who has to do perform what the studios want?

It's almost as if Alan is an onion and we get to take a bite.
The pause after "Granddad!" is better than 90% of spoken jokes. There is so much stuff going on. I love all the stuff you have learned about his private life through small hints over the years

So Partridge 😂😉 mid morning matters I loved too, the newest BBC (This Time) was hilarious. I've seen it a few times and find new funny bits. Hes such a meticulous perfectionist. Pure art. That Scottish guy on the mental health bit was simply brilliant. The "Heh" at the end of every sentence throwing them every time. Also dunno about anyone else but Jenny is stunning.

This is GOLD ! I have rarely physically laughed out loud at TV comedy, but this did it for me. Living abroad, I don't get this on TV. I'd never even heard of it. Thank you YTube for suggesting this. Alan Partridge is the absolute funniest character ever created by a comedian, imo. Just insanely funny. He cracks me up constantly. The writing and the acting are both leagues beyond any other

Couldn't agree more. Would highly recommend the podcast he does ' From the Oasthouse' which is on audible. Worth every penny. Also the books. I don't know of any other comic creation that has transcended so many mediums so brilliantly.

i just like how alan shows different facets of his self centred character with every platform. here you get more of the sadistic alan who enjoys toying with simon when simon dares speak. he LOVES seeing simon try to crack a joke and then he withholds any support for him.
Reminds me of SO many actual people. Passive aggressive warfare. That's why it's so funny, Coogan knows what those people are up to and rips the piss out of them.
