Did you watch Steadycraftin's video about painting plastics? you can use flame or solvent to "Open the surface" then paint it, and the paint is basically bonded to it after that.
That product has a known carcinogen, so I'd recommend brushing on super glue as a sealer. it's amazing at protection and doesn't lock your joints, so long as you are vaguely careful. Just brush on the super glue over the paint, get a pack of super cheap acid paint brushes, one use per application. (those plastic bristel cheapy paint brushes & whatever superglue)
What did you mean by standard sanding process. I’m new to this. Also turns out that the paint I already have is supposed to be top tier. Feeling pretty darn lucky.
Ah sorry I didn't go into that more, I showed in in some other videos. Pretty much sanding down the joint areas too avoid causing paint rub, so the inner knee and hip areas on the leg and the inner hip are on the waist piece, not a ton mind you but is a lot of trial and error but you'll figure it out.
Hii just wanted to confirm, did you only use hand brush for the Tamiya clear flat? And can I use Tamiya clear flat without mixing it with thinner o water? 😊 Thank youu
Does it stay permanently on action figures cause I’m new on painting and my first paint was the Apple brand and it did not stick well good when I was customizing my ninja turtle
It depends but with proper preparations it should, make sure you clean any piece before painting it, I've taken this custom to about 12 conventions after I filmed this and I think its gotten two small chips in transport but thats pretty reasonable I feel.
@ ok thanks because after I repainted my doc Ock tentacles for the red light it chipped a little bit by me rubbing it with my thumb after two layers so I’m trying to do four layers to see if it comes off water after it dries but thanks for the info
I always spray a coat of Krylon Crystal Clear, then 3 coats of paint through an airbrush, then 1 more coat of Crystal Clear. If I don't want it to be shiny I use Krylon Matte Finish instead of Crystal Clear for the final coat. Just make sure you use regular Krylon Crystal Clear & not their Triple Thick Glaze, that shit sucks! The Triple Thick shit is cheaper & easier to find but don't fall for it. Stick with the regular.
Yeah, Tamiya paint smells horrible. I have a few bottles of their clear colors but never had good luck with them. I tried airbrushing & regular brushing them but it never really worked right. Nasty-ass smell! lol
Nice! Can't wait to try out this combination. Thanks!
Hope it works well for you!

I have since then, I dont think it was out before this? I need to experiment with that more, and also find a safe place to screw around with flames.
I either heat gun my work or leave it in the sun, paint is highly durable at that point

I always use Mod Podge, but I'll definitely try this.
You gonna paint those nails a pretty shade of pink, bro? 💅🏻

Sounds like a good method, I have an airbrush but I don't have a real set up to use it in so I never really used it yet.
