Man, i absolutely respect your opinion on tank battles side mission. They should have been cut in half, and added as AR missions and maps. And i say that as someone who loved batmobile tank gameplay.
I think when you get far enough into the story mode the game just assumes that you must’ve seen the jump scare by now and has Man-Bat about just flying around the city
I (somehow) didnt get jumpsacred by manbat on my 1st playthrough. I remember i wanted to get his side mission out of the way 1st, so I went to the tower where he'd spawn at after the bridges were lowered and it didn't trigger. All i did was glide/dive onto him as he was screeching whilst flying to continue the side mission.
I once missed the jumpscare because I thought I won't grapple on Miagani Island. (I grappled on Bleake and Founders Islands without encountering him) I think if you avoid it for enough time, the game skips it. Interestingly it will skip the Manbat jump scare but will still give you the Joker jump scare.
Yeah, the Bat-Tank battles suck. Especially on New Game Plus. One of them damn segments has 60 tanks. On ng+, it's 120. Yay, so much fun. Let's just say 2 240% completion runs are enough batman for a while.

Batman Arkham Knight map is really a map made for the tank battles and for AR missions

I loved Part 1 and I loved Part 2 of the non Man-Bat run.
So, you can beat Man-Bat mission without activating a jumpscare ? Maybe you should try it if Man-Bat Spawned without a cutscene.
