Me and my buddy still fire up his Xbox 360 and try our luck with the old halo servers. It's frustrating because in both halo 3 and halo reach the server only gives a handful of map choices. But it's still fun to go back and play some of the best games of all time

Sucks that the story was nowhere as good as Reach. But that's what you get when you try to scrap an entire game a year or 2 before release.
I love the AI in this game they're so intelligent. The other day was on the pillar of Autumn level sniping some grunts and getting shot by shade turrets, then these 2 elites shot at me and I sniped one but I lost track of the other one, I carried on taking cover and destroying enemy turrets then 30 seconds later all of a sudden this massive elite just kicked me in the back of the head and killed me in one hit hahaha so awesome and smart. It ran round the whole building and up 2 flights of stairs to get to me.

no halo 3 was perfection halo reach was the dividing point in the community. like fanboys hold up modern warfare 2 as some pinnacle when in all reality that was the CoD that introduced too many killstreaks, skins, etc. nah mate, halo 3 or gtfo. no sprint, no powerups, etc. just shooting.

halowraith1 halo 3 brought us forge tho and theater and file sharing and the community etc... it was the definitive halo designed by the people that made halo imo

@@c4l685 Reach is my favorite, but Halo 3 is definitely a better game in general. I think there’s few things that cause Reach to be worse, and without those Reach would be about the same as Halo 3.
I loved the DMR.. halo reach was the first game I owned on the very first Xbox360 system I earned with my brother. I am just a fan of halo in general but reach... reach was a masterpiece
I was always salty over how they had the DMR in the game but not the Battle Rifle.
That made me a bit angry, and while the DMR is a good weapon for certain moments. I still spite it a bit haha.

Still gives me chills watching this and reminiscing about how I was counting the days from Reach's announcement until its launch, watching every little ViDoc that came out. I still have my Legendary pre-order set (including the box it came in) because it was the first special edition pre-order that I ever made.

This 7 odd minutes long vidoc could SCHOOL the shit out of 343i. This is what the faces of maestros look like. Pure attention to detail, professionalism, and the drive for perfection. Good is never good enough.
All this talk about Bungie going shit bc they're being controlled by Activison though, like any of us has enough of an idea to support that accusation, lmao. All I know is, Bungie"s split with MS shattered this perfect team; it's almost like watching Noble Team die one by one all over again. Half the team stayed with 343i and half had to completely uproot themselves and start from scratch. Didn't McDonnel stay with MS but the lead concept artist go on with Bungie? Ghe moment I saw that the lead artist wasn't gonna stay with Halo I knew the series will never be the same ever again.

Bungie's redesigns were never as drastic as 343's. No random humps were added to the Shotgun, no tubes were taken away from the Rocket Launcher, no Spartan helmets had dildos attached to them, etc. The biggest difference in Reach visually was probably the Assault Rifle, and even that still looked generally the same.

That's a dumb wish because the criticism you're criticising is how products are refined in ways that improve newer product.
Imagine falling in love with the brand Lucky Charms and then imagine a company purchasing that brand entirely and taking the marshmallows out because they thought that consumers' these days appreciate a healthier breakfast.
That could be true, however the consumers who fell in love with the product don't want then to change the product so drastically that the main component that makes it desirable is simply taken away.
In essence, Bungie would not take the marshmallows away. In order to appease to newer fans of their brand, they simply use less sugar in the product and to spice things up, they issue a newer box that has newer shapes for the marshmallows.
Aside from that, there is truth in the feelings of fans and rating from customers' overrall about the new Halo games and story. If the fanbase is this much divided and many TH-camrs that mainly post Halo related videos are making angry videos about the game (and those videos have higher likes over dislikes) that goes to prove that 343 did something wrong and are not pleasing fans as Bungie did with Halo.
I love how when it tells you when it comes out it says Falls instead of Fall.
The first sneak peak of the mission gave me them chills, when noble 6 comes in and carter is like "Spartans never die jorge, their just missing in action"

They should bring this game to the XBOX ONE with an upgrade to better textures, native 1080p, at 60fps, dedicated servers, all the downloadable content (including pre-order and special edition digital content with the Eternal armor effect), fully regenerating health and default sprinting.
Or release it on PC with full mod support and people could do that with no problem and much more. Oh wait, consoles.

Looking back at this ViDoc eight years later, I can still feel that sense of wonder and excitement for this revolutionary, new Halo game. Still, eight years later, it is the most ground-breaking Halo to date.

Most of these guys don't work at Bungie or on Halo anymore. They were a crack team of artists and programmers that still had passion and were in the right place, at the right time, with the right people at the helm.
They knew this was their last time as a team, THIS team, to work on a Halo game. They poured everything into it, and it shows.
There will never be another game like Halo: Reach.

Really cool to see evidence of Destiny before we even realized it existed back in the day. It's a shame its release bombed.
I remember first seeing footage of the beta and just being blown away. The graphics update alone was staggering, not to mention everything else they were adding to the game. When i finally walked out of the store holding reach i had the biggest smile on my face and my sister was like "wow, you look happy". i got home and finished the campaign that night. This game did not disappoint.

I remember playing ce for my first time. I was blown away. I would play for days at a time. It was my only game for the original xbox until halo 2. When it came out, me and my friends played it tirelessly. Halo 3 was the reason for my xbox 360, and even today, I play through it like it just came out. The same go's for odst. I have played and worshiped the halo games more than can be measured. From what i have seen from halo reach, I know I wont be so dissapointed. Thank you Bungie, so very much.

What I hate is they fucked the machines they used like the scarabs they took the one from halo 3 when this is before halo CE ! Aren't they suppose to like the one from halo 2? It's the same with the tanks,aircraft,vehicles they really stuffed up with the weapons. I could understand certain weapons being added and then as the war went on were abandoned. But then you had weapons like the assault rifle this is right before CE so it's not like they would have a completely different assault rifle on reach then a different one on the ship

I remember seeing clips for Halo 3 and being blown away by the vast visual and gameplay improvements, and still having those expectations well met by the full game.
I can safely say that I am once again blown away by the new graphics and gameplay mechanics, and hopefully the full game lives up to the set expectations.

Actually I think these are the best Elites. The minors look so iconic and reminiscent of Halo 1 especially with their one-handed weapons. The running animation is even better than the original because it makes them look so alien and alive. I don't like it when they hold 2-handed weapons like the Needle Rifle because the silhouette looks wrong and makes them seem more human.
7:15 you see that covenant cruiser chillin in the clouds but you don't see it in the actual game. Makes you wonder if that ship was there this whole time waiting for the invasion to begin.

@fcojosemoreno They're referring to the fact that: Brutes are reappearing like they way they should have been in the story like Halo 3 and not like in Halo 2; the Engineers are finally added in (whom have been completely cut from the main trilogy); Multiple Spartans (sells itself) and it will have all the different parts that the collective Halo games felt. Thus it has all the things that made each Halo game brilliant. Plus the people who made Halo get to do what was missing from Halo this time.
