Isn't it so true?!? We've all had mentors and one of my greatest joys is sharing my learned experience with others. Because you can read a million books, but nothing ever beats getting your hands dirty.
You crack me up! Your excitement is contagious!❤❤❤hombre everything! Lol whoever said this video was too long needs to get more of a flower life! I could have watched for 2 HOURS EASY,!!!
OK, I never, ever thought I'd see a gardener with as much enthusiasm for plants and flowers than Kate, but then we meet Anne who is equally as delightful in her love and appreciation of her precious Dahlias! Making her choose her top 10 was so interesting! I just loved watching her show us how she selects certain attributes of each one to be a favorite. LOVED this video and I wish I could get a bucketful of those beauties!! I might have to take a trip up to Skagit Valley...seems like a magical place. Thanks Kate for introducing us to Anne ❣🥰
Anne is so incredibly passionate about her work and so dang knowledgeable! And her design eye is top notch. It simply can’t be beat! Thank you for always being here and watching. It’s so meaningful!!!
@@HelloGarden Flowers and Friendship, very good for the soul. It’s almost like you were both split from the same seed pod or in this case dahlia tuber 🥰 are you sure you aren’t sisters 🥰 You both have flowers, sunshine, fun and generosity of spirit running through your veins 🌺. Such a precious friendship. Anne needs to consider having her own TH-cam channel for sure 👍🏻
Oh, Hello, I'm back. I got lost on the website. I'm IN LOVE with the Ranunculus Bella Notte Mix. I have to find a spot to grow this, and I have to learn how to grow this, and I am going to dream of this until it becomes a reality in my yard!!!! Will these live in Iowa????? UGH!!!!!
Welcome back! 🤣 That BELLA NOTTE. I am dead. They are gorgeous!!! Get them and I’ll show you how to start them. You’ll hang tight until spring to get them in the ground. At the end of the season, pluck them up after it dies back and let them dry! Back in the ground they go the next year. So easy!
@@HelloGarden I literally paused the video and was lost on the web page for over an hour!!!! It was so good - I can only imagine how wonderful it was in person! Those bulbs are going in the shopping cart!!!!
Very , very pretty but I didn’t notice any bees around? Does she spray? Curious. I leave my tubers in the ground here in zone 8 GA. Also have a thrip problem this yr! Ugg
🤣🤣🤣 There are bees everywhere! She literally grabbed a flower, bee and all, at one point and that little bumble just loved it. Anne is a walking garden fairy.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 @myfocusvaries That’s such a key element. These are the dahlias that started some of the greatest color trends and were the first to spark that dahlia collecting wildfire!
Oooh, I love dahlias. Just the background of your opening chat is so beautiful. Thanks! This field is day trip distance for me, though I don't think I could bring anything back across the border (?) I used to have one. Then I scored some tubers last year at my garden club and my neighbour divided hers, and I got some on clearance at Costco(!) I leave mine in the ground, add mulch in November and wish them well. ❤️🩹 (I'll have to watch the rest later after planting garlic.)
I just talked to Anne and she's about to crack the code of shipping tubers internationally! She's super active on IG and so follow her over there... it's where I get all my Dahlia House news.
AHHHHHH!!! You nailed it in one sentence: "Gardeners are never gatekeepers!" This is the love!

Thank you so much! She is such a wealth of knowledge and has the best collection I’ve ever seen. It was a gift to spend so much time with her!
